CoinPoker bans accounts using seating scripts
Cash game players using table selection software have been permanently banned at CoinPoker this week.
It's rare that operators give away how they detect cheating at their tables, but now and then they do reveal when they have banned cheaters.
Today, CoinPoker revealed that they banned several accounts for using "seat scripting". This is when a player uses a third-party software to monitor cash game lobbies, waiting for recreational players to join the table so they can sit with them.
It's not a form of cheating by breaking the rules of poker at the tables, but it is a way for predatory players to gain an advantage, which hurts the ecology of the site. In that respect, as CoinPoker said in a statement, it "goes against the spirit of the game" and "creates an unhealthy environment for players". It is also a breach of CoinPoker's T&Cs.

After a detailed investigation, several accounts using seating script tools have been permanently banned. Earlier this year CoinPoker went viral online when it was revealed that it could detect GTO Wizard and would not open until the tool was closed.
The news comes at a time when CoinPoker liquidity is thriving and all eyes are on their cash game tables. Not only have they been hosting seven-figure stacks at their nosebleed tables, but they have also seen a record amount of PLO tables open during their PLO cash game World Championships.
