I want to return playing poker (for fun, but I dont want to be a fish :P)
Started on this website loooong time ago, found it extremely amazing... could earn like $400 profit and stopped playing to finish my university.

Nowadays it seems that it is kinda dead (which is sad).
Does the strategies here still relevant (all I hear now is GTO)? Does it still an viable option to learn earning Strategy points?

Im not getting strategy points now because I played at full tilt poker, and pokerstars is not linked, should I move to ggpoker to earn strategy points?

Thanks and its good to see that this site is at least still working!

Hi caematos,

it is true, times have changed. If you define the main value as getting access to static charts and watch session review videos of our coaches - yes, then this value is not really there in 2023.
This is because the poker industry has changed. Do you remember the Starting Hand Charts and rough guidelines on how to play your hands? That was all enough to become at least a breakeven player in 2009. These days you'd have to be on somewhat micro-stakes or some of our smaller, recreational focused poker rooms to be a significant winner.
Nevertheless, we do offer a good value here these days that is in line with how players win in 2023:
- get connected in blogs and articles with other likeminded users, get motivated and learn
- get information about the latest development in the world of Poker, the newest tools (and here also at a discount)
- get information about available poker rooms. We strive to have the best deals for you in terms of benefits as well
- get access to our articles and videos, even though less relevant for your learning curve as in 2009, hence also the drastically reduced number.
- in many cases have the ability to get additional support on the poker rooms you play via us

Please do not take our change from providing vast amounts of almost daily learning material to fostering the community, providing great promotions and informing you better about the world of Poker as a weakness that shows you that tracking is not relevant anymore. Any more questions - please do let us know. Also - good luck to win 1 of 20% of our bloggers Mantelo's winnings in the WSOP Paradise: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=542235 - if tracked through us

Hey, thanks for this honest answer!

It is sad that the website is not up-to-date with the "meta" anymore, I guess because of youtube and many other factors, but I still think the idea is phenomenal. I'm still using a lot of things I learned here and in fact my $70 is now $80 in a few days playing on my free time :)

I opened my account on GGPoker using the PS code, does it still relevant? I'm thinking on moving there

Hi caematos,

well, my message was not to say that it went from being relevant to out-of-date. It is rather the expression that in my experience a lot of users from "back then" assume we just need to update learning materials with GTO and are good to go. It is rather: we give the starting point, we explain rules, we bring you videos to introduce new options/rooms - but the learning aspect is shifted more towards your side. This is one one hand harder because it requires more own work. On the other hand it provides opportunities of being one of the few who actually pulls that through. Plus with our motivational forum, our bankroll challenge, our news features, our promos we will help you to stay on the ball.

When it comes to playing on GGPoker: I obviously endorse all our partners and encourage you to try out GG as well. Putting it simple, they have the biggest promotions, fields and features. You'll find something for your taste, for sure. In the end it also comes down to your personal preference - if you prefer to just grind with a HUD and have no shiny features you won't choose GG - but with all the promos and jackpots, give it a try!
