Managing your bankroll effectively is one of the most important aspects of long-term success in poker. Whether you’re a cash game grinder, a tournament enthusiast, or someone who enjoys occasional sit-and-go games, having a solid bankroll strategy can make all the difference.

Do you follow a specific rule for buy-ins (as like 50 buy-ins for tournaments, 20 buy-ins for cash games)
How do you handle downswings and avoid tilt spending?
What advice would you give to someone just starting to build their bankroll?

25-30 buy ins to realise gains and to reduce rofr.

But if you are "pro" variance is lower due to extremely high BB/100 like 6-8 BB's. The recommended buy ins is around 20 for cash and correct amount for MTT is around 45 range

For MTT's I recommend a lot more buy-inns than 45. I would expect 200-300bb would be better.

My go-to bankroll management strategy is keeping things simple and disciplined: I only play stakes where I have at least 30–50 buy-ins for cash games or 100+ buy-ins for tournaments. I move up slowly after consistent results and drop down immediately if the bankroll takes a hit. This approach keeps variance under control, protects against downswings, and lets me focus on making good decisions instead of worrying about the money.
