Finally starting to learn how to make some good reads. I while ago I would have folded these hands thinking I was beat but starting to think more! Not a huge success I guess but thought I stick it up anyway because it's a big step for me!

I mean, if you don't mind, talk me through theses hands and tell me why you did what you did.

1st hand villian was very aggressive on the bubble. Seen previous showdowns where he was holding crap. Raising pre a lot and cbetting. Flop came out and is a hard one to hit with only 2 players on the flop so that combined with his loose range I though a 3bet would be a good option.

2nd hand villian called raise pre on btn so range is pretty wide. I cbet and he calls which has me thinking he hit the Q. Check flop, and river. He shoves, I thought if he had hit the flop he would have led out. So I called thinking my A was good.

I don't play tournaments but in a cash game a read for the first hand would be the Fold C-Bet to raise %. If thats not high enough then there's no point raising the flop cause he could continue to bluff. The flop was dry, true and it worked but do make sure you know how he reacts when his C-Bet is raised. Doesn't matter if he reaches showdown with crap but had he called our raise what would you do on the turn?

Your 2nd hand seems like a lot of speculations and guess work, I don't see any reads. Consider this situation, He hits the flop hard, a set, two pair or even a TP. He just calls since he has position on you and wants you to keep firing, the board is dry doesn't need protection. You check the turn and he could check back to induce a bluff from you on the river. He has position he can bet on the river if you check anyway. You don't bluff the river so now he bets, infact overbets. Again don't know about tourneys but in cash games it happens sometimes that someone slowplays till river and overbets cause he wants you to think that he is bluffing and you end up calling with a mediocre hand. A good read for the second hand would be infact when you have seen him overbet river with air. Infact now you could have a read on him that he overbets river with air but when you played you didn't have this info.

Why don't you put these hands up for evaluation and you'd perhaps get some good expert advice on them.
