Yo

Here's my graphs from the 1st of march til now, I think tomorrow or the next day I should clear a $150 bonus too.

Feel like I still don't really know how to play cash games but the 20k hands since I started this blog at 16NL and 25NL have been average of 9.5bb/100

This one is my 25NL 6max graph from party poker this month, it's ok. It corresponds to about 5.5bb/100,

I also had a go at HU sng this month, here's the graph:

Sorry for everyone who ran under EV in HU sng this month, I think this could be part of the reason.

These are my goals for march from feb:

[ ] Get a job (ASAP) - - NO, I applied for a lot but no job yet
[X] Keep reviewing every day - - I amazed myself by actually doing this every day that I played
[X] Play better - Mainly by reducing spewy moves - - Yeah I think this was vague enough that I can say I achieved it
[X] Get silver status - this is gonna be a pain in the arse and require some money shifting around but it's gotta be done so I can get a few videos in.

So a pretty good month all in all, total profit = $620 + $150 bonus almost cleared

Goals for April:
[ ] Get a motherfucken job you useless bum
[ ] 30k hands minus 2k for every day I work
[ ] finish watching the pink performance series - this is a really great series
[ ] Keep reviewing every day I play
[ ] Get a coaching, possibly by Veriz but not sure yet, Can anyone suggest their favourite coach for ~$50/hour?

Dream of april:
[ ] Be playing 50NL by the months end

thanks schrader.

Something switched in my brain and I played so disgustingly bad the last couple of days, cant believe the tilt I've been on. I think it came largely from trying to pump the volume and get the last of that bonus cleared.

Luckily I ran quite good and only dropped a couple of BI's but it could've been much much worse. I can break the problem down to too much of these 3 things:
-Betting
-Raising
-Calling

And not enough of this thing:
-Folding

So I decided to cash out my roll on party poker ($766.15) and whore the $500 1st deposit bonus at WPT, which I gather has the same player pool anyway

This will force me to have a few days completely off too which is good.

So far in april:

6.7k hands
$13.5 profit

Happy Easter

Hi

Here's a summary of april, no pretty graphs cos I used several usernames.

Hands: ~25000

Profit: ~$350 including rakeback and a couple of small tourny wins

bb/100 in 25NL: small, maybe 2bb/100 at most

overall I guess it's the usual average play, average volume and not enough study, feel like I've lost some of my pojo*. I'm a bit of a believer in the value of trusting your intuition, especially in live games, so I feel my pojo is absolutely essential if I wanna be winning.

I've figured the chain that has led to this loss of pojo
1. A few things came up this month that cost a lot of money, I have very little money

2. This caused me to become a bit results orientated, checking my balance too often and getting frustrated when I'm losing.

3. I tried to force the action too often, I think it's mostly been limited to raising/3betting too loose preflop and cbetting/barreling too loose

And the solution:
1. Withdraw weekly the money that I need to live regardless of if I will have to drop down stakes because of it. (poker is only a temporary solution to my lack of money while I look for work so if I slowly go broke it's not the end of the world)

2. Learn more about the game to increase my confidence in the decisions I make, videos, hand posting etc. Re-read the live tells book I've got and play a few live tournies

3. Monitor my play more closely, keep a pen and paper with me when I play and review more hands.

4. Get my pojo back.

I have a live tourny coming up in 2 weeks, it's the regional finals of this pub poker thing I've been playing. A freeroll with ~2k prizepool and about 100 players. I'm hoping to get my pojo back for this.

Anyway I'm upping my volume goals for this month and i'm going to aim for 50k hands - 3k per day I work

Hi

May was pretty good. Started playing much better at cash games and ran quite well in the MTTs.

I think I wasted a bit of time on pokerstars playing hyperturbo satellites and mtts with no BRM. ran $65 up to $650 and back in a week but played some SCOOP events which was fun

Here's my cash graph:

It's a mix of 50NL and 25NL, feel like I'm probably beating both limits now if I can just make sure I stay on the ball and don't do stuff like this:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
SB ($81.56)
BB ($50)
UTG ($25.34)
CO ($56.17)
Hero ($64.07)

Dealt to Hero Q♥ 2♣

fold, fold, Hero raises to $16.50, fold, BB raises to $50 (AI), Hero calls $33.50

FLOP ($100) K♥ 5♥ T♣

TURN ($100) K♥ 5♥ T♣ 7♥

RIVER ($100) K♥ 5♥ T♣ 7♥ A♦

Hero shows Q♥ 2♣
(Pre 31%, Flop 8.6%, Turn 20.5%)

BB shows A♣ K♣
(Pre 69%, Flop 91.4%, Turn 79.5%)

BB wins $97.25

In case you are wondering it was a misclick followed by "ah fuck it, it's pretty much 2:1 now anyway"

Here's my tournament graph on party: Dunno how to only show my may graph so I squared it.

In summary:

Hands: 17k cash + 21k tourny hands = 38k hands
and I worked 4 days so it all adds up to getting my volume goals from last month

Profit for the month was about $1150+200RB = $1350

I've bought a dairy so I can write my daily activities and keep track of how much of my life is wasted playing facebook games and try to reduce it. also i'll write poker shit in there.

I guess my aim for June is to keep that up, try to play 80 hours and study a lot too.

Keep it real

Looks like a decent month overall!

Good luck reducing facebook time, I personally feel that Facebook is the devil, so totally behind you on kicking that habit!

yeah thanks fruktpuff it was pretty good.

Starting to reduce the facebook time a lot so far, I think just being aware of the time you're spending on somethng helps.

Won some satellites lately without realising you have to use them for a specific tournament rather than just having T$ on WPT

It's all good though, sold some action on a $215 and will play it on sunday which i'm looking forward to
Feeling quite good about my game, the cashgame experience has helped a lot I think. Now I think i'll review a bit of my 10-30bb game and i'll win it for sure

This is my favourite comic today

well i busted the tournament in 149/985 and top 100 pay so was close to a mincash but never had a stack that was threatening any sort of huge prize, ended up restealing and getting called by AQ.

Did manage to win a $2 turbo for $195 while I was playing though

and just missed out on good cash 3 times with a 10th, a 14th and a 15th in all in 400+ feilds for effectively 3 mincashes. 2 of them I had top stack when there was 20 left but ran AK into AA in one and QQ in the other

anyway what can you do?

I also have a ticket to a $90 rebuy that I didn't realise was a rebuy when I played the satellite so I guess I'll play that tomorrow

It's a waste though cos I can't really justify rebuying with my roll. I probably wont add on if I get a stack either and I dont want to try sell the action cos I'll probably just get pwnd by regs the whole time

so wont be playing that satellite again but I will play more for the 200k gtd, it's quite soft, has a good structure and today the overlay made it effectively rake-free

This is a bit of a crazy one

It was in the a party/wpt promo tournament, $1 turbo with $1000 added and top 10 get a free European nations shirt. The blinds go up every 3 minutes and at every payjump it goes hand for hand. (even for a 30c jump)

The timebank is 120 seconds and all the re[tards]creational players time down to MAKE SURE they get the extra 30c even though it's hand for hand. It's just a joke, from the bubble onwards it's around 1 hand per 2 blind levels

I guess it's still +EV cos you get people folding on the bb with <2bb stacks and stuff like that. But its madness

I got out in 12th (this was how I lost most of my 2.5bb stack)

average stack was around 150k, 13 left, 10 get the free shirt, 1st is $400

anyway I lost most of my stack this hand:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $120,000(BB) Replayer
SB ($253,004)
Hero ($309,678)
UTG ($75,624)
UTG+1 ($370,623)
UTG+2 ($179,570)
CO ($233,685)
BTN ($230,528)

antes $12,000

Dealt to Hero 2♣ 2♦

fold, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $218,528 (AI), SB calls $158,528, Hero calls $98,528

FLOP ($739,584) K♠ 8♥ 9♣

SB checks, Hero bets $79,150 (AI), SB calls $22,476 (AI)

TURN ($784,536) K♠ 8♥ 9♣ Q♣

RIVER ($784,536) K♠ 8♥ 9♣ Q♣ 5♠

BTN shows A♦ T♣
(Pre 38%, Flop 27.5%, Turn 23.8%)

SB shows 7♠ 7♦
(Pre 46%, Flop 63.8%, Turn 71.4%)

Hero shows 2♣ 2♦
(Pre 16%, Flop 8.7%, Turn 4.8%)

SB wins $784,536

I need 13% to make it a +chipEV call so it's pretty mandatory I think

But with the chances being that at least a few people get out before my next blind meaning I move up a lot in prizes just by folding it and am almost guaranteed a free shirt

I dunno, wanted to fold but couldnt justify it

I've got myself into a pretty good live game at the moment, here's the best hand from the other night

9 handed 50NL, live game at my friends place

Hero has 72o, in CO

MP raises $1.50, 1 caller before me, I haven't played much against MP but he doesn't look like he's folding to a 3bet so i just call and hope the board gets ugly, bb calls

Flop ($6) 4 people:
K  7  J :diamond:

Checked to MP bets $3.5, I call, bb calls

Turn: (~$15)
J

MP checks and doesn't look like he likes the card, I make it $7.50 bb folds, MP calls

River ($30)
2 :diamond:

MP checks, At this point I don't think he has too much so I bet $15, MP snap-calls :f_cry:

I show 72o
MP shows 72o :)

We split the pot

so I think I got soul-read really, wont bluff that guy again
