That shouldn't matter, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't bayern finish behind Dortmund in the league? didn't they also get thrashed in the German Cup? Didn't they also lose to Chelsea in the Champions League final after having every advantage handed to them on a plate?
Even a second string German side should beat Switzerland, what that shows is that they have 0 strength and depth.

Ozil, Khadira, Goetze, Padolski, Klose, lacking in strength, why? and where?
Friendly results and domestic form, will have no effect on their Euro performance and they'll make the semi's at least.
If you cant beat Switzerland without Bayern players it would suggest the team can't cope without them.
Also note that the two best players for Bayern Munich arent actually German.
The Netherlands, Spain and France are much scarier than Germany
Podolski aint up to much, Ozil is out of his depth at Madrid, Klose is playing for an average Serie A team, Schweinsteiger is a poor mans Gerrard, Muller cant even get in the Bayern first team who arent even champions of Germany.

Can see where you are coming from but Germany's history in big tournaments is nothing short of outstanding.Their biggest strength is how they play as a team and that has always been the case.Look at England,they have some great individuals (like Gerrard) but they just don't gel as a team.Maybe this time will be different but i still can see Germany making the semi's at least.
Holland just can't win big tournaments and the French are too busy fighting with themselves.Spain missing a few big players and i can't see them winning 3 big tournaments in a row.That's never been done before afaik and in the WC they won all their knock out games 1-0 so their luck will run out eventually.The Euro's is a tournament for surprises so it's very hard to pick a winner.

Once again we, Belgian soccer fans, have no team to root for in the euro 2012 tournament. Once again we are orphaned, wandering through the streets without colours, without flag. We will watch the games, but we won't taste the heat of the fight, the tension between victory and defeat.

Germany are donks in tournaments, I dont know about 'force'.
1996 - Should have gone out in Extra Time in the Semi Finals, a freak Gasgoine miss meant they went on to win in penalties.
1998 - Quarter finals, very average (About Germany's real level) 3-0 loss to Croatia of all teams if I remember correctly.
2000 - Finished bottom of the group and were humiliated by a below strength Portugal side that had rested all its best players and still lost 3-0
2002 - Very much donked to the final with the easiest run of any team in the competition and got hammered rightly so by Brazil.
2004 - Out in the group stages, very poor German team.
2006 - The hosts, got to the Semis, nuff said, the host should always get to the semis.
2008 - donked their way to the final yet again, had the easiest group of any one and still managed to lose 2-1 to Croatia. Played Turkey in the semis the weakest team to make it that far and then got taught a lesson by Spain in the final.
2010 - managed to lose 1-0 to Serbia LOL! donked through the quarters by hitting England twice on the counter attack when they were chasing the game after a disallowed goal. Fair enough they beat a tactically absent Argentina in the semis but then once again got taught a lesson by Spain in the semis.
Yeah they have pretty much donked all their success in recent times but most of the time their average ability comes into view.

Should of, would of, could of, ifs, buts and maybes...... They didn't even get out of first gear last night and beat the Portuguese. Lesser teams would have become frustrated by the negative tactics employed by Portugal, brought on the 'big man at top' lumped it at him from the back and lose 0-1 by conceding to a Portuguese counter attack, sound familiar?
They won by donking once again.

It wasn't that Germany played badly it was that Portugal contained the German threat, if they cant counter attack then they don't have much else to offer.
I expect Germany to have a very frustrating tournament because teams are going to play to stop that only German threat. If you don't give any space at the back then Germany can't break you down unless they get a total fluke goal like against Portugal.
BTW, Italy looked very impressive. Much better than I gave them credit for, perhaps dark horses to win the tournament on that display.
