Hey everyone!

I have tried to start a blog here earlier, but it didn't work well, because of lack of skill, and just throwing away my bankroll. The reason why I want to start a blog once again is to stay motivated and have a good discipline.
I have been playing poker for a while. Just a few days ago handed in my diploma paper in college, so now having some more free time.

I am going to play on pokerstars nl10, shorthanded. If there is anyone who would is also playing something similar, would be nice to keep in touch, maybe trough skype or so, to discuss tricky moments in sessions and other useful stuff.

I don't know what goals could I set.
But here goes some of them:

:diamond: post interesting hands on forum
:diamond: update my blog once in three days or so
:diamond: fight tilting
:diamond: play only 6max nl10
:diamond: watch some useful videos

Good luck at tables mates :f_cool:

Welcome to our blogging section!

Now you've caught our interest, tell us a bit more about yourself? What's your diploma in? Where are you from? How did you come to find PokerStrategy.com?

I used to play NL10 SH, much nicer than horrible nitty fullring, isn't it?

Looking forward to seeing how you progress through your updates, following for sure!

Regards,
Richard

I'm coming from Latvia, but currently living and studying in Denmark already for 2 years. I'm studying marketing management, in fact, a few month ago tried to apply for intern position in pokerstrategy.com, but didn't get acceptance.
I also like working out, travelling and partying as all students do :)

6max, is more interesting than full ring for sure, just have to find my winning strategy, and somehow, motivation to stay focused.

My screen name is nikola_nn. I have been a losing player so far on pokerstars, but hope, this time it will change :)

Wow, yet another Latvian blogging with us!
Which intern position did you apply for?

So many...

I'm rather in the reverse situation myself, I'm Swedish but have been living in Latvia for 4 years.

I applied for several positions.
And how do you like Latvia?

Month has started legendary - woke up this morning still a bit drunk from last night..

Today plan is to buy a new phone, play some poker and enjoy the sunny weather.

Good luck at tables guys! :f_cool:

What kind of phone are you looking to buy? Which are the main candidates? How did you pick which eventually(if you have at all yet?)

Latvia's quite nice! I wish I didn't have a latvian salary, of course, but the prices are good!

Hope you kept off the tables while still drunk?

yeah, salaries in Latvia are no good, that's actually one of the reasons I have moved. Well, I got really drunk a week ago and lost my phone.. So I just need some cheap replacement.

No, I while I'm drunk I enjoy myself in another ways, not by playing poker..

Here the update comes...

Lately was pretty busy with partying, studying Danish and other not poker related stuff. However, managed to play a bit and watch some videos in order to improve my game.

In the beginning had to get used to games since long time haven't been playing seriously, made some bad calls and plays. Afterwards, went trough the sessions, which definitely was +EV.

Some interesting hands will follow later this week.

Is there anyone who could explaine me how to add a graph?

You need a program such as Holdem Manager, PokerTracker or Elephant.

Hi Nikolass2

Welcome to the blogging section!

Very nice to see a NL10 SH player! I play it myself as well. But I play on 888poker though. Race you to NL25? :f_biggrin: Just joking!

I hope you are going to start winning this time around! Are you a winning player on NL5? If not it might be better to start off with NL5?

To add a graph you just go to HEM1 or 2 right click on the graph and click save as. Once the graph is saved you upload it to www.imageshack.us . They'll provide you with a URL for your picture. Then when you are writing a new message on PokerStrategy.com you click on "insert image" which is on the left on "youtube". Just paste the URL in the window that pops up and tadaaaa your graph will be in your post.

I hope this helped.

I will follow your blog for 2 reasons:

  • I play too at NL10 (but full-ring)
  • I'm also Latvian _biggrin:

Any success yet?

Hey guys,

So far running not so good, however, after analysing my hands, found out that from time to time I'm pretty much tilting and making mistakes. Now moved down to NL5 for a while in order to fix my leaks without so much loss money wise. Moreover, also checked out some of the NL videos provided by pokerstrategy.com. In addition, lately I'm more and more considering to take some lessons in order to improve my game faster, is there anyone who can suggest a coach for reasonable price?

Yesterday played a small tournament in casino, which didn't work well either, was running really cold.

Not-poker-related-stuff

After 2 weeks break I am again going to gym, which makes me feel good. Next week I am planning a trip to Latvia, to party as crazy, so it means 5 days off from poker.

Here goes graph:

Good luck at tables! :f_biggrin:

Thank you for help! I went down to NL5 now, but it's not like I felt bad playing NL10, just I think I'm running really bad + that influences me - I'm tilting :/ But I hope that things will turn better soon. Moreover, I don't play so much now, instead I'm studying more, so I hope to get back to NL10 soon :) Is 888 more soft field at micros than pokerstars?

Hi Nikolass2!

Looks like you're running a fair bit under EV! I guess you're getting a lot of coolers? It'll turn around one day though!

If you want to find a coach you can browse a bit in our private coaching forum. You'll find a coach that will suit you!

I never played on stars so I don't know about the field on stars. But from what I've heard stars has a tough field. 888poker on the other hand has one of the softest fields around. If you are not sure whats the best room for you to play on then check out this thread!

Better luck on the tables next time!

Hi there,

It has been a while since my last update. It has been a busy time due to my trip to Latvia for a weekend, birthday celebration and graduation from college. However, now +- I'm done with everything, also got accepted in 3 academies, now just need to choose the one I want to study at.
Trip to Latvia was crazy, nice parties, meeting friends and family.

Poker-wise June wasn't that good as I would like to see it. Here goes the graph:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

And this month haven't started any better...

I have been watching some videos on pokerstrategy and found some leaks, but I am aware of fact that my game is still not good enough, if we look at the graphs.., so if there is anyone who has taken a coach, while struggling with nl10-nl25, and it has helped, please let me know, because I really want to improve my game.

Good luck at tables! :spade:
