Up bright and early. I've failed at doing that so far since I got here (partly because of jetlag - but im not gonna deny it, I suck at getting up in the morning) so last night I decided to make a bet with the guys to motivate myself getting up. Supposed to be up (and write in the blog to prove it) by 6.30 and its currently 6.13. Go me!![]()
Assuming they're all still asleep, I'd nip back to bed for another hour before they wake up. They'll never know

Unless they...ahem...read this.

Yeah I was up and grinding by six this morning but was very surprised to see Vonki as she has been trying to get up early for a week now with no luck lol.
Early morning grind = more pool time

Week 1 Results!
First week results were, well, less than stellar. Half the house posted losses to start the month, and the other half had better expectations. Also there are some rakeback and bonuses that will show up at the end of the month to help the results a bit - but overall the first week in the house was a losing week. Results posted in both USD and PHP (philippine pesos)

No negative vibes - you will prevail!!
However, I am very interested in the costs (if it's not to nosy to ask). I assume you don't pool your own winnings or cover each other's losses?
I mean, you each just cover your share of the house costs so one player's bad week doesn't have financial impact on the others?
Good luck!

Thanks Tim!
Indeed, we all pay our own share of the housecosts. The costs are mentioned in one of the first pages, in the thread about the house that was posted I think. Apart from the costs there, it kinda depends on what you want. The food here is pretty cheap, eating out is pretty cheap (a meal out if you don't order something on the more expensive side) I would guess is around €5? Probably cheaper at fast food restaurants but I've personally not been in any of those yet so I'm not sure.
Anything that's not imported is usually quite cheap but anything that is imported isnt. Electrical stuff here is just as expensive at home. Thus, monitors, TV's, computers, hairdryers etc etc.
Usually when we go to the mall for a meal or so, we take a cab from our house - which takes about 20 mins I would think (depending on which mall we go to) and ends up costing about €2.5 (and no, not per person ♦). If you for some reason dont pay attention to wether or not they turn on the meter, or wether or not they think youve not been here for long, it may end up costing alot more than that. Yes, we've managed to get scammed, but its not for huge amounts anyway. ![]()
When we go play badminton its P50 (€0.9) per person, for unlimited time of play. When we played pool, I bought a breezer (sort of like Smirnoff Ice but PI version) which was P45 so just under €1 aswell. A beer I would guess is between P40-P50 depending on where you go.
As for clothes and stuff, I've not been shopping yet (!!) but I've seen a few stores from the outside where you can get some pretty nice shirts/pants etc for about P150-200 but I'm guessing you can get clothes both cheaper and much more expensive than that too.
Decided to sleep in a bit today, ready to play now after a nice shower and breakfast. Hope it goes as well as it did yday
Had a rly swingy week (for my standards). Happy it ended quite well. ![]()

Heres my shamefull graph from the 1st week 8-(

But on the upside seem to be playing pretty solid today, and will hopefully get some more in after I finished floating around in the pool ![]()

how is the internet in cebu? what provider and speed do you guys have at the house?
Internet has been pretty good so far. It disconnects maybe once or twice a day but it only disconnects for less than a minute every time.
Speed is at 65 mbps, not really sure who the provider is
Tbh it feels great to run so good after a cold run.
Tim was right! At least partly ![]()
Biggest winning hand of the day (and yes, I know the riverbet looks a bit extreme, but I still like it ♦)

The week 1 results don't look good at all.
But it does look like you guys are going to make up for it! And I'm sure you will!
Do you think it has something to do with where you are? I mean you're in 'paradise' right now and maybe your mindset wasn't right to play poker during the first week? You've just been thinking about the pool, the food, the sun...

Ras: I can only speak for myself when I say that SOME of my results may have depended on that. I did feel like I was very close to tilting and made a few bad calls here and there sometimes, but I think it has more to do with being in an environment where you don't really feel safe yet. Its very different compared to being in your safe bubble back at home. BUT, I did run cold up until yesterday aswell. Just the standard not flopping anything, fish running in gode mode and hardly getting action when you do hit. Stuff that happens.
Looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish this week, and I certainly look forward to the poor party tomorrow!!
:f_love:
