What is your motivation for playing poker?

I enjoy playing poker because I like the challenge of playing against other opponenants and figuring out where I stand in the hand. I love the fact that poker in some respects can mirror life in that you can do everything right and lose or do wrong and win! I find the subtileness of the game to be fascinating and play just to see what the next problem or wuation will be - The extra cash would be lovely too!

What are your weaknesses at the table?

I think my biggest weakness at the table is calling a bet or raise etc when I know I am beat but just dont want to believe it. I'm not prone to tilt but can simmer at a low level and on occassion I'm prone to frustration when I'm drawn out on etc.

Playing Tight Aggressive?

Playing tight aggressive to me means, only selecting strong starting hands for my position / circumstances at the table and only progressing into the hand if they connect with the flop strongly. Then pressing those hands for maxium value.

Easiest way to fight against tilt is to set up stop-loss technique. Which means if you for example have lost more than 3BIs for a session then you just stop the session for some time. The BI amount is set up from your own results. Some may put it higher, some lower. Also after the stop you can spend some time with evaluation part to become better.

Another option against tilt is to set yourself shorter sessions which might avoid you from tilting. If you playing longer sessions then it's more likely that during that session you can get upset. So work on your game and try to find out what makes you tilt and try to fight against it.

Most of the weakness you wrote can easily be fixed by posting hands (analyzing your session). We will start writing feedback to your play. Usually negative feedback will put you into thinking phase and trying to fix all those leaks. It's almost the same as you lose money, you will remember it more than winning part. By this situation it's gonna be that negative feedback you gonna remember and try to avoid them next time.

Also BRM is very important aspect of poker, which is kind of must to follow. If you ain't following it it will lead you just gambling money away. During tilt phase it could also be the case that you are more moody and which means that you are going to lose more money away. If you don't have a proper BRM then it will lead you to the losses. Therefore try to follow strictly to BRM and set up the buy-in rule for yourself what is a must need. Standard would be ~25BIs at least which for some is even aggressive BRM.

Tight style is usually called playing selected hands. Like following the Starting Hand Chart. Aggressive should be also pretty clear that already the word says how you should be playing. But the problem playing aggressively is that you have to watch that you don't play too aggressive. Find good spots, find good targets. You mean the stats? You have to make a screenshot of your stats and then paste it into mspaint and then from there you can save the jpg and upload it somewhere.

If you need any help with exact instructions then just gimme a tell here.

Slight delay, that small thing called real life getting in the way but here is homework 2.

Question 1: What do you think you could play differently than suggested in the BSS Starting Hands Chart and why?

I think I could add the following to the SHC. Early postion I would add all pocket pairs playing a 30/70 fold/raise with them. I would do this to balance out all premium hands and to add a little deception to my play from this position.

From middle position I would be tempted to play AQs - A10s, again mixing limps with raises, still folding to any opening raise.

late position - I would be open raising with hands like K 10s and KJo here but mainly as blind steals.

Overall I am only slightly looser then the SHC, there is just the odd spot here and there that I would add a couple of extra hands.

Question 2: Do you have questions about your preflop play? Post your hand for evaluation.

No not really, like I said my preflop play is very similar to the SHC and I guess that is because of some of the books etc I have read previously - Now postflop play could do with some work!

Question 3: What is the equity of AKo against the top 5% range? 5% means 88+, AJs+, KQs, AKo

No worries, you can finish your homework whenever you have time for it.

Playing PPs can be in long run be very profitable, we could even say that you earn the most money with them (except of course KK/AA strong hands ♦). You can always try out either you play them profitable or not by check the programs either you are doing great on early position with PPs or not and base according to that. Although the problem with playing them, especially from EP if you playing FR is the case that you wont always play them profitable and very low ones I would even advice to fold as 22-55 and raise it up like 66-77+.

Totally agree that those ATs+ hands are very good to play from MP, especially if you are familiar with postflop play and you understand what you doing. How to gain maximum value and where you CB and why, vs what kind of opponent. And even if not you can always post the hands to analyze it.

Totally agree with you about the stealing ranges. Against specific opponents we adjust, either wider range or tighter range. Against some shorties you can even steal with smaller raise, for example 3xBB. But don't overdo the stealing situations. Sometimes you might just put yourself into too many difficult spots if opening with marginal hands. As for example stealing too many hands from SB and being out of position.
