Cool giraffes

As for the question, it's really too wide to give a specific answer.

It depends on your villain, really.

If he plays fit/fold post, you should expand your calling range.
If he barrels a lot, and puts lots of pressure, tighten it.
What does he do against 3bets?
- If he calls them wide, add more hands to the 3b value range. All broadways + most of strong aces should go there. Even a hand like J9s should be a value 3b against some people.
- If he folds or 4bets (and also how much does he 4b), move most of broadways back to the calling range. Add more bluffs (J3s, Q3s, T4s and stuff like that, that would usually be a fold are good hands for that)

But whatever his opening range is (unless it's 10% or so) 3b or calling just 30% is a mistake. It is profitable for your villain to open 100% against you and show a profit even if he openfolds all flops.

Connectors, one-two gappers (especially suited), all Aces and most Kings you don't 3bet, Q6s+, Q8o+, J7s+ should all be easy calls against most villains.

Obviously, don't just start calling all of those hands without feeling comfortable with it. Add them a few hands at a time, and really think about who you're playing against.

Sorry if you knew all of those, once I started writing, it was hard to stop :P

Thanks for your reply bjela!

I do know most of what you told me. It's hard to implement these things though, but I guess that's just a matter of lack of experience in these games.

What you said about opponents who can minraise any two pre and openfold any flop when I fold that much and still print money vs me is exactly the reason why I brought up the subject; I had heard about that in a video I saw.

Anyway, I guess I must be doing something right, because I'm doing well enough to be able to move up a limit tomorrow.

So, starting tomorrow I'll take an 8bi shot at the $3,50s, so let's see how that turns out.

Graph of the HU adventure so far (I've played some more, but this graph shows the HU SnG adventure from July 1st - the day I started playing them backed):

Off to an okay start at the $3,50s. Played 13 games so far today and won 9.

First few games I ran into a bit of variance... Villains outflopping and outrivering me left and right, but shit happens. Then I ran into a fish who was so kind as to practically give me fout buyins, which gained my trust a bit.

More games tonight, wish me luckz :)

Now at least you were the last to act so it made some sense. Sometimes it is the other way around and they just check back the nuts. Like they feel sorry for you because they have the nuts or want to show you the hand. Never sure what to make of it when that happens.

Succes ;)
