Well turns out that HM can't read my Stars hand histories. Even when I import one hand history file individually, hold'em manager says no hands found to process.
You need to use a HM1 release >= 1.12.09. This is the latest: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.12.11_03Aug2012.exe
Your stars client must be configured to write english handhistories.
To import a file a 2nd time you need to rename it or move it to a different folder. After this the import file/folder should work.
Yeah I did have a older version of HM so it couldn't read file histories. Now I have the latest version and its fine.
