Although 100 BI below ev is not an easy thing to cope with, i think your mindset is good enough. Your ev line itself is strong. Almost everyone who has played more than 10 000 sng has experienced something similar or worse.

Being able to manage those things and still keep up learning is the line that separates mediocre players from players, who has the potential to reach to the best.

Actually i think yr going busto but because forums are used to moralize
i will say that will only happen in 1 week. :P

Now seriously i think its ivital yr analisis is right.
If u think its only variance and its not that will cost u so be sure whats happe.

Anyways dont know if this might help but sometimes different formats
help changing the mindset and not only that but strategically they are important for several reasons , for example replacing 1 hour for HUs
or 6 max hypers etc

good luck

Have you considered becoming a motivational speaker? If not, you should do.

I think playing any other form of poker would be suicidal at the moment, since my ROI would be even lower, so I think I'll pass on this one. But thanks for the advice.

What I might do though, is go on higher stakes, say $60s or $100s, and see if my luck changes there. As any gambler worth his salt will tell you, the only way to get your money back is to up the stake. _ugly:

You'd be surprised. It's always worked for me. Like right now I've run like a complete and utter cunt with "RAPE MY ARSE OVER AND OVER PLEASE" written on my forehead for the past 6 months in 18-man. My ROI is 4x (that's FOUR TIIIIIIIIIMES) less than the 6 months+ prior to that. If I play 45, 180, hypers, it's a totally different story, the RNG is COMPLETELY different in every game. I don't care what anyone says it patternizes totally different in different formats, I see it every day of my life.

Your posts make me laugh. I might play some 180-man today and see if anything changes. It did work for me in the past.

I loaded HM1 today to see if my stats differ nowadays comparing to what they were when I was playing on iPoker and it looks like I forgot that I was running like shit there as well.

This is regular speed, which turned into a complete joke in the last 2k tourneys

Spoiler

This is turbos at which I admittedly sucked, but I was still making money on them postrakeback

Spoiler

And this is Stars

Spoiler

I think it's about 220 BIs below EV in total. Is it just me or am I getting seriously fucked?

SnGs can be nasty like that, but surely the ability to power through and keep playing your A-game is a sign of awesomeness?

If you can keep the ev that you had the last 1000 games in stars then its all gonna be pretty nice for you.

You might be right on this one.

Sure, but the weird thing is, I don't feel like I'm doing much different. And yet from the 1st of July I'm finally winning chips on every blind level (at least EV-wise). So yeah, providing it's not temporarily, it all should work out nicely in the end.

That's some really huge swings.

I hope I don't get those at least soon in the future. :f_o:

What was looking like a promising session at some point ended with a usual fiasco to which I'm accustomed to by now.

So tired...

Just discovered something which makes my situation slightly less dire. Every time HEM2 crushed while I was playing, after I restarted it, it assumed I was rebuying into tourneys I had running. So I'm down a little bit less than what it was showing before which is a relief.

I hate those HEM2 graphs with a passion. Never converting.
