Good ending to a great wekend of poker, I didnt hit my 10K hands goal, I got close though 7K, I didnt get to play really at all today just a little 2.5 hour session... Had some distractions from the poker tables.... Can't wait to get a real few day grind on, I'm going to organise some leave from work in the next few weeks so I can put in some serious hands!!

Looks like this is the week to buy a new rig and setup a proper poker battle station, I'm going to get a laptop with nice monitor or a decent desktop with a big monitor not too sure on specifics this week I only want to spend about $600.00 australian dollars so won't be anything special as long as 24 tables no worries and big monitor ♦

Now to poker, I'm happy with 7K hands thats for sure, I feel my last 2K hands were awesome I ran good hit nice boards and had fish pay me off. I've also really tightend up in position and range which at these stakes is definately helping. Im also leaving my tables and starting new ones once I've taken some moniez and fishies are gone.

Mentally I'm in a really good place, Im really going to take poker alot more seriously in regards to making it a career move, the most important thing I think for been pro is dedication and hard work... Anyway the big decisions are along way off I'll touch back on this when Im a sick NL100 REG ♠_biggrin:

So Im going to keep playing regular sessions and grow my tables if my skill matches, found a guy today from holland, NL10 Grinder just got Supernova took 9 months 24 tabling, LEGEND. I hope to do it quicker at higher stakes but yeah he said he got $3600 USD in rakeback nice little bonus. So yeah good motivating signs allaround..

Hopefully tomorrow work will be quiet and i'll get a lot of time to study poker however I really should be trying to dominate work at the moment and get my nice bonus which I could put in my bank roll towards the end of October, So lesson is focus more at work, Im pretty hooked on poker at the moment, news theory, game, videos can't get enough!

Woot upswing continues, Im so wired from the run good I'm probavbly not going to sleep which means work in 4 hours is going to be grueling, Ill probably lay down for an hour if not asleep then mega grind is on to keep me awake... I wouldn't like to put my body through this however, If I don't maximise the time I'am going to be stuffed regardless and goto sleep as soon as I get home which means no poker session anyway. We'll see.

It's soo good to be back above $300 after my run bad last weekend, also I feel I've really worked on my game this week.

I really like the Samsung 27" LED monitor anyone using or got one ?

Haven't decided on desktop or laptop, At this stage I think laptops are alittle bit better value for money, I have to get a desktop eventually however I'll have to mail order one from a capital city as the prices in my town for a desktop are alittle high, where I can get a laptop at a great price from a big chain type store...

So far my main pic is a samsung or asus laptop. I'll only be able to run one monitor off it but thats okay for now, when I do get a desktop i'll be able to use my 27 and an old 17' or get something new altogether.

Is it worth getting the 27" ? I've noticed its got the same resolution as most 24" bah !! Bigger is Better right ??? I could almost by two 24's for the same price but I don't really wanna be playing over two screens, my neck and back are already shitty enough ! ♠_evil:

As predicted, I didn't get a session in last night, my partner needed the laptop for work so that was fine, I fell asleep pretty much straight after dinner as predicted my weekend tiredness caught up with me!

I'm looking at a few cheap desktops from some second hand auctions which will be great for poker, Also found some Alienware gear up for auction too, however it's 5 days to go so I'll see how they go but pretty keen to bid on some!!

Getting poker battlestation sorted so we've got enough computers in the house. At this stage I think i'll settle for a second hand desktop with the Samsung 27" but and but, there is alot of 24" widescreens up for auction I may grab a couple for backups if they are cheap enough.

Looking forward to the next 8 weeks I'll have the house to myself, My fiance' is off to Antartica for 2 months so no distractions just work and poker focus !! I'll put some photos up of the boat at the end of the post!

Anyway my graph is still looking hot, unfortunately I can't post it because I'm at work so I'll post an updated one tonight. Also getting pretty close to Goldstar on Pokerstrategy can't wait first time EVA! and Silverstar on stars Isn't far off either!

Nice progress anyway, I'm grinding nl16 at the moment. I'm saving my ffps and cash bonuses up (got around $250 worth atm) that way I've always got a safety cushion if I downswing and it means you beat each limit without rakeback.

Anyways had a little session tonight maybe around 1000 hands give or take, I decided to cut it short I just wasn't feeling the love, tables were full of maniacs heaps of short stacks which I generously donated too. Gotta be kind to the SSS nits .... so tilty haha!

My hands wern't hitting I was getting C'bet every flop, Im alittle tired and just couldn't adjust, My only all-in loss was 666 vs AAA so not upset at all, just standard, the other 2 Buyins literally I lost in 1 and 3 dollar avg's I just toally sucked either or I was running really card dead or I was just getting ran over by maniac nitfish!!

Ill do a proper update tonight with graph etc, nothing to fancy down about 4 Buyins for 7K hands, wanted to play a bit more but wasn't feeling well yesterday.

I've arranged a temporary battle station so at least I can 12 table at the moment.

Okay, so finished a 10K grind so I thought I'd post a graph, My BR is up another $50.00 on there from some nice heads up games I just sat down at a heads up table with a guy for $10.00

I took his stack like 3 times amazing how they keep rebuying gotta love it, I see why setting such a high buyin can be good, the fish have no choice if they wish to play heads up they just jump in, anyway I think I took like a stack off a kiwi and about 3 $10.00 stacks of a taiwan guy,, love heads up got unlucky in another game but mainly if the guy I was playing was good after a while I'd just end the game no point just paying rake....

Really pleased with my results heads up game and six max game are improving out of site, I've been getting itchy to just load up another $100 or $200 at the roll and take a shot a higher stakes, mainly even to break even just to make VPP's, So Im glad I've stayed at NL10 doing a little bootcamp, hopefully four or five more buyins and I can start NL16 again...

The grind for GOLD has begun, I totally got fired from my job this week it was classic me moment just did something elementary wrong and that was it, Gone SKI!! My girl left 2 days ago so I can't really explain it to her OMG well I've got till early November to find another job or start getting close to rakebake pro... Seeing as I don't really want a job I've decided to go for Goldstar... I don't see a possible way I could make SuperNova 12 tabling this year, even if I was NL25... I checked the calculator at NL25 and it reckonsn its possible 12 tabling, 8 hours a day so I may be able to do it, but that would mean awesome break even run good without dropping down a level.

The only reason I'm getting at the Supernova thing It's pretty much guaranteed money every month for breaking even which would be alot more easier to convince the other half its possible to make an income.

Yeah so alot going on I was a little shattered about loosing the job so soon but its kinda working out they are giving me a good payout plus I should be able to claim benefits straight away so just a minor pay cut and more time to play poker can't be all bad right ?

So here's the graph pretty happy with last two days of play started to crush I've really worked on my game in regards to betting, starting to over bet alot more rivers which is great for strong and weak hands seems to be paying off, getting a little bit more tricky on the turn and river is key in NL10.

Haven't updated for like over a week and the reason, Things have been just terrible in the poker world, I mean I feel like I've literally lost my poker mojo, I can't hit boards, when I call down hands I'm always beat, not getting lucky, getting over bet / played by players because I'm playing to weak, I've taken most days off, I had a whopper 10 or 12 BI down swing in like 6K hands, Its really trying my mental game to wanna play at the moment.

NL10 Is driving me crazy its just such a wierdo game, tables full of nits, tables full of maniacs, fish getting lucky left right and centre, I'm going to stick it out with stars for the moment, I've already started a good grind now reaching silver, so I'll definately go for goldstar in October.

So everything at the moment is compounding, I made $90 at the casino playing live, the next night it was like the doomswich began, I ran KK into aces live for a full stack, should've known the guy had aces was so obvious but I shoved it in anyway, epic fail, my next stack just got mildly taken slowly couldn't get lucky, ended up shoving jacks; for my remaining $80 bucks into AK and QQ, GG so that was kinda the start last thursday, the next two days online I lost like 4 buyins one day, then 10 the next it was sick I almost lost my temper big time..

So I've taken all the steps, breaks, less tables, still cant get a break at the tables, So I've been upping the study, I feel it could be a lot of burnout too, I've caught up on alot of sleep since not working anymore, but yeah I can't pull the trigger to play, so I know I need a longer break, no point playing poker scared. Im basically 2 BI's from $200 in the roll, so I'll probably load up some more BR to help with the mental side, funny how always have mega upswings after deposits ♦

Anyway any support would be appreciated, my volume has literally hit the wall in the last 10 days, not sure how many hands Iam for the month, I lost my database on other laptop which is in antartica so not sure how many hands I know I played like 16 to 18k hands since she left so def 20K hands for the month which is good for a beginner, I'm going to stay at 9 and 12 tables for now its enough to make good FPP's and improve my game before adding more. Doesn't matter at the moment, Im getting eaten alive playing 4 tables anywayz

SO yeah to you guys that have been in the trenches before I know it won't last and soon I'll be crushing again, I guess its a mini mental stress test from the universe checking if Im really ready for poker fulltime. So this is my start a blog curse downswing hopefully it will be over soon, because 30K Break even is nothing!!! and you wanna see swings been watching Blom try rebuild a roll online last few days thats some crazy tilt right there crazyhorse that boy!!!

When you get fed-up and need a break from your normal game, why not try a coupl'a tables of something new? Sng's or a different game altogether, like 8-game or 5 card draw(lots of fun, really)

Thanks for the reply, I went and played golf today we finally had some good weather and I thought I'd make the most of it, Classic I went home after 6 holes, I lost 6 balls and was over it.. So golf went much like poker haha! I def enjoyed the nature and day plus the extra vitamin D but overall I was play so shit, need to get to the driving range and get some practice been too long a winter.

Poker I've decided to just let it be for now, continued break, If I feel like jumping on I will, I might play a little micro stakes PLO, like you suggested DRAW is awesome too! But yeah at the moment just working on life balance, I've found a little investment car to buy cheap from the mainland which I may do flip for a few grand hey at least it will give me more time to learn poker.

Well thats it for now, Ill post a september wrap up soon, still feeling pretty upbeat, I achieved most of my goals for the month, benefit of not setting profit based results.

Yeah I've red alot of the Poker Productivity Blog its amazing, I went and got some healthy food and veg from the market tonight gotta get the balance back yeeeha!

All in all other than how my bankroll ended up Im pretty happy with the month, I played between 30K and 40K hands I lost track because I had to switch computers during the month! Made silver star easily, actually made it twice, got about 1560 VPP's for the month.

I only played probably around 25% of the month also due to working full time then foul downswing so took some time off. I know I started playing bad, plus couldn't make hands then felt mentally unwell for poker so started not been able to win, Its been like a while since I had a nice decent winning session. It will return with time.

The last few days I've been AFK due to an injury can hardly walk so decided no poker. I finished about 13 Buy-ins down for the month, at one point I was looking at 10Buyin up, then 10 down, then breakeven then final bad swing ended it and I just didnt feel like putting volume in to try get out of it. So new month, I think i've got about $200 in the roll so if I swing down again, Ill take another break then reload up see how it goes, however Ill probably try another site, just over stars atm.

Im not going to set any VPP grinds for gold yet, see if I can break even for at least 10K hands then maybe have ago. Going to start 7 tabling then build it up from there hopefully back to 12 in a few sessions.

Also good news I've had a few settlements come in from my old business so October if I'm playing well I may add to my roll at start NL25, but only if my game has improved.

Okay so we've gone back to basics, Its taken like 2 weeks for me to really be able to pull the trigger, the last 20K hands were just so terrible, So I just started studying until I was able to pull up the database and then analyze that.

I think my stats for last 20K was 19.1 VPIP & PFR 12 PF3 2 which is waaay to nit passive for SH,

My stats today for 400 hands have been VPIP 28.5 PFR 23.3 PF3 9.2 so yeah noticeable difference and I can really feel it at the tables too, so i'll focus on maintaining this.

It seems the last 20K hands I went from like 6 to 8 then 12 tables obviously too quick, just went into been a passive fish and then add that with not been enough with show-downs unlucky plus bad play gets me to my 13 BI Downer.

So I started looking at ways to work on my redline again, I've set a 1000 hand challenge 1 tabling NL10, finished about 400 so far has taken like 4.5 hours so far GOD it's slow however been worth while, total profit so far is $26.29 and Non showdown is $11.92 of that which is freaking awesome huge difference, almost had it up to $15 so close.

So hopefully this will be a new start for my game, I can take some solace that I had some pretty huge leaks, my stats for 20K hands were terrible, no 3 better preflop at all, check folding flops too much, playing OOP, list goes on, just went into SNG auto-pilot mode me thinks! Anyway dropping tables I should still be able to get Silverstar which is good, the Rakeback will help later on.

If I make 1K hands with profit 1 tabling, I'll add 2 tables for 1K hands and so forth, see how the challenge grows. Slow crawl but hey I'd rather be working on my game and improving than going busto, been a big reflection I was seriously just unable to pull the trigger, probably a sub-mental hold until I'd found some leaks... Shoutz to Pleno and Raggy!! I'll post a graph at 500 hands maybe, I can feel a headache coming on, so Im not sure if I'll get anymore hands in tonight, Also I have to work for my family business tomorrow so I'll probably get close to finishing the challenge in the next 24 hours hopefully.

This is a non showdown winnings bootcamp! I'll slowly be adding tables every 1000 hands So it will speed up. If after 1000 hands my redline is looking good and I'm break even or better I'll add another.

Results, well finished in prof so wrapped about that, espeically redline I count that as a success, however last table omg, had some russian guy 3 bet my steal like 3 times (He was highest PF3 on the table, so I thought yup I'll bring him in line so I 4 bet shoved with suited crap, anyway he calls, AK, board runs dry, almost flushed him so gross anyway that was the second fail before that, I should of folded, C/F flop ah dunno, put it down to experience.

A fish coolered me twice on the river in like consecutive hands, so that plus the 3 bet guy set off tilt mode which is not good, I was up $6.60 on the table before this which normally I would bank, but there was 2 good fish and I wanted to grind out the 1000 hands because I was soo close.

The challenge was going soooo well till this point!

Anyway my table image is only going to do me favours after the 4 bet shove with air, so I manage to get limpers every raise wee finally hit a flush and rip a buy in off one bloke but its too late, end up finishing that table -1 buy in to finish the challenge.

So yeah soo pissed off I know Its my fault I should of 4 bet shoved with something better, but also got unlucky alot against the fishies, as I'm now also like -1 buuy in below ev so so gross, I know a small sample but fark seriously,

It's been an amazing experience the torture of one table but I think so well worth it, and even though it wasn't much fun going to bed on that finish, Looking back I actually had alot of fun running it up! So I'll look forward to another maybe later today.

So even though Im celebrating the redline, Im going to put myself through another 12 hours min agony and go again one table, this time focus on both lines.

oh anyway at least its a win, game improving, viewing the game from very diff angles now, my hud is also so tilt, -ev, using fpdb but yeah huds not so great, so I'll have to trial some other software I think soon. Anyone suggest good dbase software with best hud ?
