Flop: ($1.10) 5 8 9 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.73, CO calls $0.73, BB raises to $3.97, Hero calls $3.24, CO folds

Final Board: 5 8 9 A

Hero mucked 9 T 7 J and lost (-$4.32 net)

Good fold or do we get it in on the turn (assuming he has 67 + probably :spade: FD, we have little over 40%)? Do we try to get it in on flop?

I don't like your flop bet. You can't really rep the nuts after raising preflop. A lot of people are going to put you on a flush draw if anything and you don't have that many nut outs with the spade draw being there.

I would check/call the flop since you have a bluff catcher with top pair and once diamond draw appears on the turn probably going to check/call again since you definitely have odds to call now.

Thanks. Good point on the flop bet. Can't really rep the nuts and flush draw is taking away many outs for me. Check/call line makes more sense.

How about the way it was played? Turn is a call?

If the flop was rainbow? Do we bet flop? If we get raised, do we try to get stacks in?We are a slight favourite if we asume he has 76xx most of the time (if he's fishy enough he can have 99 also, but it's unlikely, since we have one 9). Or do you prefer taking check/call flop, turn again?

Thank you for your time. :)

Definetly call ott... You have almost 50% vs the nut 76xx straight, which is most likely his holding

One main issue in PLO, is when you have a draw, and you can't rep the nuts. By betting you can cause people to bluff raise you who are flipping a coin or favourite against you with their weak hand.

For example you 3 bet preflop with A♦ K♣ Q♦ J♣ and the flop comes 3♦ 4♠ 6♦. When people play back at you on flops like this you're always going to be underdog so it's a dangerous board to cbet as you're allowing opponents to play perfectly against you in a big pot.

I just recently transfered to PLO, so this kind of advice is golden. :) Will keep it in mind.

Thanks.

I would like to understand the answers to this hand
hero is ahead of a random nutstraight here and i dont think its bad to assume villain has just the random nutstraight here if hes raising for value?
Also where is the problem when villain raise anything else than the nutstraight? We have good equity against anything, so i dont see why its bad when we dont rep the nuts here(if we even assume that plo10 villains think about what our pf range is weighted towards). Also, isnt it possible to bluff/semibluff some turns and rivers pretty effectively here?
We have more than 54% vs random nuts on the flop

If he has naked 67 yes but if he has also FD he is crushing us! So, we don't want to grow up the pot... Playing passively is the best you can do in situations like this...

I didn´t say anything about naked 67. I said random 67, so 67 with FD is already included.
If he has no FD we are ahead of him and i think that will happen far more often, or not?

Basically anyone with a straight is more than likely putting their stack in on the river. If we miss the river, we don't have to put our stack in.

It's not about percentages and whether or not we're favourite, those things actually don't matter. It's about saving money when we miss in a situation where villain can't save money when we hit.

Do you talk about going all in on the flop or the turn?
I am just talking about cbetting and 3betting the flop, sorry if my english is a little bit weird .
I agree with the turn play and the logic behind it, but I am not sure if we get good payout on the turn and on the river if we call the flop and hit, because there are a lot of cards that could kill our action. Also if we check, we play probably a way smaller pot with such a strong hand, which seems a little bit weak to me.
My thoughts were, that betting/3betting the flop is just obviously so much +ev and It doesnt seems to me that c/c (if CO bets) is that strong as well (even though its obviously +ev too)

Given that you bet and got check-raised on the flop, I think the correct play at that point is to fold. Three betting would be suicidal, IMO. Part of the problem is that his check-raise is a really strong play. It says he not only has 76 but also backup (like maybe the nut flush draw? A876ss?) In general, strong straight draws are not strong on 2-suited flops (without having the flush draw yourself.)

Is it wrong to assume most villains just raise every 67 here?
I feel like pretty much any thinking player at plo10 player raises here this deep
