Question 1:Post a hand for evaluation where you have either a) freeplay, b) slowplay, or c) multi-way pot situation. (Post your hand in the Hand evaluation board, and provide a link to your hand in your private thread.)

Answer 1:
Slowplay AQs on QQx board, correct or not ?

Question 2: Evaluate one of the hands submitted by other members. (Choose a hand from the Hand evaluation board and post your own evaluation in the thread. Post a link to the hand you have evaluated in your private thread. You can evaluate as many hands as you want, but try to choose hands not yet evaluated by other users first.)

Answer 2:
K flush

Question 3: Consider the following situation:
$25 NL Hold'em (10 handed)

Stacks & Stats
UTG ($25)
UTG+1 ($25) rock
UTG+2 ($25)
MP1 ($25)
MP2 ($25) LAG
MP3 ($25) maniac
CO ($25)
Hero BU ($25)
SB ($25)
BB ($25) calling station

Preflop: Hero is BU with Q:h , J:h
5 folds, MP3 raises $1.00, CO calls $1.00, Hero calls $1.00, 1 fold, BB calls $1.00

Flop: ($4.10) 3:h , J:c , A:d (4 players)
BB checks, MP3 checks, CO checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($4.10) Q:c (4 players)
BB bets $2.05, 2 folds, Hero...?

What action would you take, and why?

Answer 3:

In a headsup I would like to raise. But this flop can easily have hit to many hands better as ours.
The question is, if we would raise can we get better hands to fold and weaker hands to call?
I think the answer is NO. So I would call the bet and evaluate the river.

Question 1: Post a hand for evaluation where you have played on a 6-max table (short-handed). (Post your hand in the No Limit: Hand Evaluations forum, and provide a link to your hand in your private thread.)

Answer 1:
JJ overpair

Question 2: Evaluate one of the hands submitted by other members (Choose a hand from the No Limit: Hand Evaluations board and post your own evaluation in the thread. Post a link to the hand you have evaluated in your private thread. You can evaluate as many hands as you want, but try to choose hands not yet evaluated by other users first.)

Answer 2:

MP: $4.80 (48 bb)
CO: $9.41 (94.1 bb)
BTN: $10 (100 bb)
SB: $18.06 (180.6 bb)
BB: $10 (100 bb)
Hero (UTG): $11.43 (114.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A A
Hero raises to $0.30, MP calls $0.30, CO calls $0.30, 3 folds

Flop: ($1.05) Q 2 8 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.80, MP calls $0.80, CO raises to $3.10, Hero ???

Beide spelers zijn grote fishes.
MP: 54/13 (23 hands)
CO: 48/4, 2.2 AF (26 hands)

CO is passive player and suddenly he makes an agressive move in a 3-way pot.
To me this is an easy fold, and look for a better spot with AA

Question 3: Consider the following situation:

$10 NL Hold'em (6 handed)

Stacks & Stats:
UTG ($10)
MP ($10)
CO ($10)
BU($10)
SB ($10)
BB (Hero) ($10)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5:h , 4:h
2 folds, CO raises to $0.40, BU calls $0.40, SB calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.60) 3:s , 2:h , Q:h (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.20, CO Raises All-in, BU calls All-in, SB folds, Hero...

What action would you take, and why?
I will jam it in, you have like 13 clean outs, and already 2 persons went allin, so therefor giving you the right odds to call this.

Answer 3:

Question 4: Consider the following situation:

$10 NL Hold'em (6 handed)

Stacks & Stats:
UTG ($10)
MP ($10)
CO (Hero) ($10)
BU($10)
SB ($10)
BB ($10)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A:c , K:s
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, BU calls $0.40, SB calls $0.40, BB calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.60) A:s , 4:c , 4:d (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets $1.20, Hero...

What action would you take, and why?
Answer 4:
The only hands that beat you are 44, A4 and AA. AA would have reraised preflop, and all of them would slowplay knowing that I as preflop agressor would probably bet the A. So at this point I definitely am way ahead. Villan probably has an Ax type of hand. Raising him here, and getting heads up with him would be best. I would raise to aprox. 3 dollars.

Question 1: Post a hand for evaluation. (Post your hand in the No Limit: Hand Evaluations board, and provide a link to your hand in your private thread.)

Answer 1:
QTs, strong draw 3way flopplay nl10

Post a link to the hand you have evaluated in your private thread. You can evaluate as many hands as you want, but try to choose hands not yet evaluated by other users first.)

Answer 2:
I am very sorry, but you guys evaluate hands so fast it is almost imposaible to find a nit yet evaluated hand yet. Pleas forgive me for not doing this, and finish my course..

Question 3: Consider the following situation:

$100 NL Hold'em (9 handed)

Stacks & Stats:
UTG ($100)
UTG+1 ($100)
MP1 ($100)
MP2 ($100)
Hero ($100)
CO ($100)
BU ($100)
SB ($100)
BB ($100) (18/15/3.7/23/732)[VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]

Preflop: Hero is BU with 8:h , 9:h
4 folds, Hero raises to $4.00, 3 folds, BB calls $4.00

Flop: ($8.50) 3:h , 6:h , 8:d (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $5.50 BB calls $5.50

Turn: ($19.50) J:h (2 players)
BB checks, Hero...

What action would you take, and why?

Answer 3:
We bet, as we do not want give a free card like a 4th hearth on the table. So 2/3 potsize would do the trick nicely, to get called bij medium pp's like 77, 99, TT, and let higher flushdraw pay enough to make it to expencive in the long term to call in this situation.

BONUS Question 4 (optional question): Consider the following situation:

$200 NL Hold'em (6 handed)

Stacks & Stats:
MP2 (Hero) ($327.95)
MP3 ($207.45)
CO ($415.55) (TAG)
BU ($373.60) (TAG)
SB ($200.00)
BB ($218.00)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 7:h , 8:h
Hero raises to $7, 1 folds, CO raises to $23, BU calls $23, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls $16

Flop: ($72) 7:c , 8:s , 8:d (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BU bets $52, Hero calls, CO calls

Turn: ($228) K:d (3 players)
Hero checks, CO checks, BU checks

River: ($228) Q:h (3 players)
Hero bets $110, CO raises to $340.55 (All-in), BU folds, Hero?

What factors and concepts that you have learned so far would you use in evaluating this situation? What would your action be?

Answer 4:
I think checking the turn was not ok. Any overcard could give a higher fullhouse to villain. On this river villain shoves, and because you didnt bet the turn, you don't know what you are looking at. So we have to determin the range which villain shoves the river, and check/calls flop, and checks the turn. Personally I think he could do that with 77, QQ and KK. We only have 14% against his range. I think there for it is a crying fold!

MP2 ($9)
CO ($10)
Hero($10)
SB ($10) (17/13/2.6/24/1212) [VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]
BB ($10) (27/9/2.0/29/333) [VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]

Preflop: Hero is BU with 6:d, 7:d
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, SB calls $0.40, BB calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.20) 3:d , 3:h , T:d (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($1.20) J:d (3 players)
SB bets $1.00, BB calls $1.00, Hero...

What action would you take, and why?

Answer 3:
My personal line would be to raise my hand. Villain 1 would have bet an overpair on the flop, so JJ+ is not in his range most off the time. His bet more looks like a Jx type of hand, which he had hit and like to protect. Villain 2 is a weak calling station, so he is calling with a wide range of hands, but has nothing special. So we want more money in the pot as probably most of the time our hand is the best hand, and we do not want any more diamonds on the board, which could cause damage to us as villains could hit a higher flush draw.

Question 4: Consider the following situation:

$10 NL Hold'em (8-handed)

Stacks & Stats
UTG ($8)
MP ($10)
MP2 ($9)
MP3 ($6)
Hero ($10)
BU ($10) (25/21/3.8/26/1250) [VPIP/PFR/AF/WTS/Hands]
SB ($10)
BB ($10)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J:h, J:s
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, BU 3-bets to $1.30, 2 folds, Hero calls $1.30

Flop: ($2.75) 6:h , 9:s , T:c (2 players)
Hero...

What action would you take, and why ?
Answer 4:
I miss 3bet% and cbet% to make a good choise.
But against unknown, I would take the passive line to check, call en evaluate again on the turn.
If his betsize is pretty big, i probably would fold.
The question is , why would I call JJ oop preflop ?
It would get me in this very nasty spot.

Homework 5 complete. Congrats.

Q3: Well said. Raise for value and protection.

Q4: Great answer here especially about the calling OOP part. Villain seems active preflop for a FR game so if he has a high 3-bet % we can just 4-bet the hand for value.

As played I agree with the check to let him bluff, he seems aggro enough.

Congrats,

Homework 6 is now complete !!!

Q3: Are you talking about the turn or the flop? We would be raising turn with 2pair against a station so I think that we can definitely get called by worse, such as Ax hands. Sure, better never folds but worse can definitely calls (if he bets worse). If villain is really passive then we can consider just calling.

Looks like homework 7 is done as well. Good job !

Q3: why do you consider 13 clean outs? Will our opponents never have better draws or sets?

Better draws (FDs) kill our flush outs and sets/2p kill some of our draw out as well.

I think that considering all 13 outs clean is a big mistake in a spot like this.

I recommend doing an equilab with some ranges you think villain(s) can have here.

Q4: Given villain called in BB after 2 other guys he can also have some other 4x like 43/45/46 suited however he'd rarely donk. I agree that it's most likely an Ax hand but I think raising, without knowing if he's a fish, is a bit too much because we may scare him away from putting all the money in. So I'd call and play turn/river (money can easil;y go in and board is really dry).

Hero bets $110, CO raises to $340.55 (All-in), BU folds, Hero?

I think checking the turn was not ok. Any overcard could give a higher fullhouse to villain. On this river villain shoves, and because you didnt bet the turn, you don't know what you are looking at. So we have to determin the range which villain shoves the river, and check/calls flop, and checks the turn. Personally I think he could do that with 77, QQ and KK. We only have 14% against his range. I think there for it is a crying fold!

Congrats, you are done with lesson 8 as well.

Q2: Even if hands are evaluated you can always jump in and give your opinion. You can ignore the response of the judge until after you posted your answer and then you can compare the two.

It's a great way to learn and test your thought process.

Q3: Do you think that villain can really call with a lot of hands? Sure, we want value, but we play versus a reg that rarely goes to showdown so I doubt we will get many light calls out of him. Instead we can check back and let an aggro guy like him try to take us of our hand or maybe pay us lighter on the river.

Q4: keep in mind that villain, CO, was the preflop raiser and ck/called the flop. He is most likely betting QQ/KK on the flop unless he has some more history with BTN and tries to let him bluff. He could also have the one combo of 77 that he slowplayed.

Also, our range is interesting to look at too (at these limit we have to think about what we rep as well).

We never have AK or QQ+ here and we rarely ever have Kx in our calling flop range. So really the only hand we can valuebet is a major 8x or 77/88 hand so villain can think about bluffing us.

Tx Bogdan for all your help. Thinking in ranges for villain's hand is one thing.
Representing ranges towards villains is a second thing.

Thank you for all your effort, putting in this course and helping us guys out
