So in general, on average, you are getting 3-bet with a pretty nutted range (QQ+, AK) when you open from EP.

So you got 3b around 15% ? wow

I think it's closer to 18-19%.

I'm back in the U.S. for a bit and doing some database analysis. I'm looking at situations where I raise from early position and get three-bet by a player in the small blind. I noticed a few situations where I folded AK and felt pretty nitty about it.

I'm going back and forth on it, but I'm pretty sure it's the right play in some of those spots. Most TAG regulars don't really bluff much out of the small blind versus early position openers, and I think that I need them to play hands like AQ or KQ to make calling with AK profitable.

Still not sure ... gonna do some more math on it and get feedback from a few other players.

What's your fold to 3bet then UTG? Not saing it's bad per se but people have to be really nitty and unbalanced to fold AK to a 3bet.

Overall, it's around 60% I think. I was looking at a HH where a 17/14/3 player 3-bet me from the SB to $12 after I made it $3 UTG and I had AKo. Four-betting seemed gross and calling seemed like it had reverse implied odds written all over it.

17/14/3 This guy is not a tag he is a nit so yeah fold everything but AA I guess. But this is true for any positions vs those guys not just in UTG.
vs a guys that 3B more than AA then AK is a call vs most guys but super aggro ones.

What about against a range ~2.5% range of QQ-AA, AK? Even most 21/18/7 regulars are nitty/unbalanced when three-betting from the SB versus another TAG's EP raise with no dead money in between.

vs AK, QQ we have 40% equity and we have 33% pot odds. So yeah I think it is a call. We are also blocking AA and KK and are IP.

But generally speaking if you think they are that nitty folding isn't a big mistake.

Hi, I am just reading your blog from the beginning. Well done!

So I am answering some old topics :)

No, it is not hard:

During your 2010 and 2011 challenges, what is your "open call PFR" stat?
I guess it was quite high for a regular player / TAG standard.

I'm reading your BaB book right now, and it definetely the best poker book for me. Two thumbs

Not sure. What do you think is the significance of that stat?

Best.micros.book.ever.

I really found your book to be very valuable. I recommend it to ANY player who plays nl100 and below that isn't stomping the stake.

And I would also like to thank you for writing such a great book that directly increased my poker skill. I hope things get better soon in America so you can get back to grinding. And God knows we could use the extra fish!
