I agree with luizsilveira, I think he played his hand ok. I'd probably c/r/jam too against most regs

If this is the case, good for you. Then your post should be about how bad and beatable the players are at NL25 and not a whining post.

I'll have to agree with the guys above on this one!

Running into AA with KK is just a cooler, as is running into a set of sevens with a set of fours. But the Q7 hand seems pretty standard form my point of view as well. Also, the AK hand you posted isn't necessarily a cooler either. I think you should look at how you played it as well. Do you think you can get three streets of value here? Do you ever expect him to raise with worse on the river? Etc.

Of course getting coolered sucks, but not all hands you just posted are coolers. So that's definitely something to look into :)

Just grind your BR back up, and hope to run hot next time you move up to/take a shot at NL25 :f_cool:

Will be following this :)

Actually, I'm curious about this one. Why is this standard? With monster draws or at least draw + pair I understand but with just nut FD it feels not standard for me. Or are we only talking about NL25+ here?

The fact that it's fairly standard doesn't make it the best or the most +EV play by him.

Reason this is fairly standard is because people cbet too much. It's not uncommon me for to see guys with 90% cbet on NL25. And then they will obviously fold a ton to check raises - among other things because check-raising as a pure bluff is not so common there. So imagine you have JJ, or QJ there. What do you do? You cbet, and likely you fold. He wins.

You are thinking he's jamming on the flop for value. Not the case. He doesn't win money when the money goes in. He does, however, win money every time you fold the flop. And that will be a lot. Not to mention a ton of people will call flop (for whatever reason) and fold to his turn bet - thus creating more dead money and making it even more profitable.

That said, given that the pot is too small (since you min raised) and the SPR is large I don't like his play too much. Still, if you some times 3bet flop with worse draws he'll be getting in pretty good (= with decent equity). However, in a vacuum I'd probably go for check/call flop and check/raise turn, just to make the pot bigger/juicier thus getting more money from people's folds.

You seem to be looking the hands a lot from the "value" perspective, which is fine on the micros. As you move up, more and more you need to consider fold equity on your hand evaluations.

That's all just my opinion of course, take it with a grain a salt if you wish.

I'll make a better post later when I've more time but similar enough to what's been said. He generates a lot of fe and has good equity when called ~35% against sets, tp, 2pair. And if your getting it in with hands like 89cc/9Tcc/45cc/58cc then even better. Its a good spot/hand to bluff with imo.

I didn't realise it was ~130bb deep so maybe its not the best line but its defo not a suckout

edit: It might be worth posting those hands for evaluation. You definitely got unlucky but I don't think they were played optimally.

Today is basically the unluckiest day in my poker career. Zero luck in cash games (would even say negative luck). Played some home games sng in Lazza's home games and pretty much got coolered/sucked out in every pot which caused me to bust.

Congrats to all those who received my money today (especially in cash). Although most of these guys don't deserve it. But that's life.

He played his hand and his equity ok, where's the suckout? Pretty standard.

Seems like Hero was fav OTT...
I think this is what OP want to say...

Hero range is very strong in this spot.
I don't have Equilab available now,so I can't calculate the EQ exactly...

DON'T forget that the pot is deep.
Hero is IP so I don't think he will stack off light ever here...
SO his range is sets and obv two pairs............

I don't think we should consider A as an out in this scenario...
He played his hand for flush value, and was lucky,NH..

IMO SUCKOUT...

How about there's no such thing as "deserving" or not. There's just a fact of getting there or not.
If you think of it, justice is a very peculiar concept...

Not sure if I'm ever folding here even though I'm deep. Can't give too much credit to a back raise at these limits

As you guys can see, I can't even beat NL5 now, because I have never have card edge over others. They hit miracle cards forever but I don't.

I think moving down to nl2 is mandatory

not sure if stars is really rigged or what.

I used to be a firm believer that pokerstars isn't rigged.

But after this week, I am not so confident.

Losing 10 all ins in a row due to coolers/bad beats.

thankfully most were at nl2/nl5. but what the fuck?

i'm not exaggerating. it feels super rigged against me

I dropped ~10bis in ~1.5k hands on stars last week (2/3 were tilt rest were coolers imo) and been breakeven for ~15-20k hands since so I know the feeling. Zumpar has been through something similar (twice I think) on ipoker... Its just part of the game unfortunately...

Hope you turn it around dude.

If I knew poker was this tough when I started I probably wouldn't even play poker. Back then I thought it was an easy second source of income. Oh my how wrong was I.

But it seems abit too late now (and stupid) to quit now. No turning back until I bust my BR lol.

Basically this week has been the shittest of my poker life.

I've always been struggling to find the balance between overconfidence and lack of confidence. It feels like whenever I'm running good I find some reason to become overconfident (unknowingly of course) and spew my money away. And then I find myself in a spot like now, unsure of what to do. Just 4 days ago I decided that I need to push myself harder and set myself a goal for this month. Within 3 days I crushed myself. My 'backup' plan was to move down to nl10, but I never thought about how shity I would feel if I had to move down. Now that I have moved down, emotionally I'm still unstable. And I played nl2 and nl5 today to get my daily fix of poker without tilting more at nl10. It backfired because I pretty much got owned and now I am lost. I don't know what to do now. I feel so overwhelmed now to come up with any action plan. I should really stop being tempted by the pokerstars icon on my desktop. Today I played over 2k hands for no good reason. Losing even more money and confidence in the process. I'm not even sure what will happen tomorrow. Will I finally stop playing? Or will I decide to shoot nl50? Or will I play 5000 hands on tilt at nl2? I have no idea. I think I have lost control of myself.

Break does miracles, as well as analyzing your own game after that. Psychology articles also help a lot to have the proper mind-set to not to take bad feeling on losing streaks and to prevent leaking other pots after them
