I put more attention on studying the game and I want to play a lot more hands next month! There was also a discussion with a much better NLHE player who said that it would be possible to win more and showed me some leaks - so I am super happy about that Totally motivated to play a lot more, but I still have to order Jared Tendler's book

So - have been really busy with university the last few days...except on May 1!!!

That hand made me go crazy ♠_biggrin: but I calmed down after a minute or so - trying not to freak out (btw wanted to go AI on the flop...was a misclick)

Just a quick update:

Did not play that much the last days because I got Jared Tendler's books and I really like them - really a good read so I spent most of my time studying the mental game.

One of my biggest leaks might be fear I guess... whenever I am up 2 or 3 BI I start to change my game to protect my winnings or even stop sessions after 300 - 400 hundred hands although I would like to play some more. The fear of giving back the money is just to big and so I have to work on that!

Moreover, I guess it is a mixture of a lack of skill and fear that my red line goes down like this (you can see my graph in the post above -> I do not really know why it is so different from the one in my second post of the blog...went over the sessions I played there but I am not so sure!). I dont know if it is normal on NL2 but i guess it is not that extreme!

Maybe you could provide me with some input on that (how it is on NL2 or NL5 maybe...)

Reaching the goals for the month will be quite a challenge because I cant get my hands off the book(s) (currently reading the first one)

Well i would not care about red line. I was obsessed with it also but the most important thing is green one of course.

I would suggest to reread again this article it will give you again a confidence: "The Red Line Myth" by w34z3l

Just focus on your game and not on red line. This is the most important thing. If you have to fold you have to fold.......or it may happen that you will call just because you would not like to ruin your red line......but you will ruin your green and we don't want that.

My internet was totally out of order...therefore I couldnt really play. I got disconnected every 10 minutes or something - I have such a stick for internet connection which pretty much sucks!!! I want to do the recap of the month right now as I stayed up late and played poker for quite a bit (up unitl now - 5:13 in the morning so don't really know if I am going to play much tomorrow as there is going to be a big party at the lake )

Read 3-5 articles every week -> I guess 3-5 was a bit too optimistic as I am only bronze member at the moment (not tracked at pokerstars) - but I read quite a few of them so I hope that counts

Hmm would have loved to win the first one - the second one frustrated me a bit cause villain was a 71/30 dude
I was hoping to reach NL5 in the first 2-4k hands but I guess I'll still have to wait a bit - but no problem
In fact, I am a little bit proud of myself cause I am not really angry about that. Some months earlier I woul have freaked out but now I stay calm and just try to play my A game

Will make a break now and play more a little bit later as I really want to reach the 20k hands! I tried to play at more tables and making some 4-bets which was probably not that much of a good idea on NL2 but it works sometimes (probably afraid of AA ♠_biggrin: ) but in the long run it's not that good I guess!

I played a bit more than 3k hands yesterday and I am quite proud of that (most hands on 1 day ever ) BUT I had serious concentration issues during the last few hands which cost me almost all my winnings

The bad thing is that when I play sessions that last more than 2 hours I start running in auto - pilot mode and do not really think about the opponents, forget checking their stats, just playing the cards, making stupid calls on the river ect...

Another nit who just played the nuts...I should have folded this because his range was polarized on JT on this board (I know because of history with him). Villain was just playing the nuts all the time - so another standard fold to a reraise by this guy.

I know that I could have avoided these losses! That means that I really have to work on my concentration a lot I guess. I'll try to play even longer sessions but step by step! Always adding 15 - 30 minutes and quit if I feel that I am not playing in the Zone.

Yeah you are right 2 hours and more are to much. It is better to take a break of half an our to forget about poker and to cool your head a bit. Then you are read for action again:).

Yeah 2 hours are probably enough for a sessions...just wanted to try out where my limits are - quitting would have been better. I even recognized that I was starting to play worse, but just did not want to quit...need to think about / work on that!

I am moving up / taking a shot at NL5 when I have a bankroll of 125$. I currently have 112$ (lost a bit this month ♠_mad: ) but I hope that I will be there soon

Hopefully, I will also be able to clear a 10$ bonus at PS this month - that would be great!!! ♠_biggrin:

Here is a video of a festival called "Tomorrowland" which seems to be the coolest on the planet!
