well, poker is the first things that i really like and were i could see my self working with joy not just playing it as a hobby. i know that i have the potentional to be good at this, just need lots of work and the right mindset for it.

for now my main goal is to earn enough to pay my bills by playing poker. and here were i live thats not as much as in other countries. i would be living fine with 800$ per month. that would be the MUST thing i need to achieve in next 2 months or i will be forced to get a day job again. from there, its just improving and moving up the stakes when im ready. if i would be able to grind 7s as my main limit for like 2-3% ROI and start taking some shots on 15s by the end of the year, that would be really great. and i know that is duable!

and most important thing- i want to keep enjoying poker all the way through it. this is THE thing for me and i dont want to screw it up and look for some other thing i enjoy doing. :)

nothing much have happened, still 6tabling, so low volume, so i dont have decent graph to show. on the plus side i enjoy playing, trying to improve my game. on the down side the weather outside is super awesome and i want to spend my time outside not infront of the screen... +27C in may this weekend will be +30... IN MAY!

Things are going pretty well!

Im enjoying playing poker and that makes me happy. Trying to push myself to learn some theory and review games, to see were i fail. Lately im getting feeling that this will be much much harder than i thought to learn this format at least on the level that i could call myself OK player. The thing is the more i learn the more i understand that i dont know even half as i should... but thats good thing i guess, at least i dont build some crazy dreams that i will beat stake by stake in couple months the strangest part is im getting better all the time, step by step.. and as it happens i dont understand how could i win some money before if i now i can call myself a breakeven player at best after watching pzhon video today about calling allins i discovered that the way i saw sng`s was just a surface and i have tons of things to learn... and mby then just mby i will be able to call myself OK player :)

any ways, this is the hottest may i can remember and i really enjoy it. spending way more time outside. couple days ago i even went for a swim in nearest lake and it turns out the water temperature is just awesome, its like in the middle of summer! on the other side my gym has no air conditioning and doing squads when its +30C outside is just sick

Lets hope my good mood holds on and i will be able to learn more from now on as i have tons of new things to cover. Still playing 6tables and not thinking about playing more as i feel that this is the best way to improve. volume sucks ofc, but whats the point of volume if im breakeven player or in best case grinding rakeback on micros

You can beat stake by stake per month especially when you are playing low like 3.5$ but it needs a lot effort

Keep it up!!!

HELLOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long time have not posted anything, so i feel i should :)

Have spent some time improving my game, i have been 6tabling for like a month now and i feel i have learn a lot and fix some massive leaks i had. I feel more confident on the bubble as i start to understand riskaversion better and how to work with it... This week im starting to go for more tables to finally get some volume and see were my game stands at. Atm im loading 12 tables and playing stacked, then when down to 6 i switch to tiled and winish bubbles and HU. This seems to be the balanced way for me to play atm, to get some more games and not to loose game quality too much (hopefully none). Overall feeling is pretty good, i feel like im finally ready to beat the limit and move up as soon as i will have a decent roll for 7s. But i will not rush it, the time will show were im at and will act acordingly...

The other awesome thing is that i got into new studie group, lots of new interesting people with different kind of knowledge and level on hypers, so new possibilities to learn and improve.

And ofc i have to say bit tnx to andrew and rolandas for helping me by giving valuable information about the game and reviewing some hands :)

Havent posted for a while, so here i go...

Last month was pretty good for a change, ran above EV in 3.5s :) volume was pretty low, but its because i was 6tabling for like 2 weeks to focus more on fixing my game.

Decided to make another shot on 7s. Have to say that it feels pretty good. Not that i crush or anything, its far from that, but the overall game flow and plays ppl make, makes more sense and it brings some order in the game. HU is way more agressive and loose, which gives some space to adapt and exploit.

Iv set my stop loss at 30BIs, lets hope i will hang on at least for awhile, to enjoy the fun limit above brings me :)

Havent been posting much lately, mostly because im changing things all the time for the last 2 months or so and i dont have like monthly plans to wrap up afterwards and results to show...

So, what im doing and what are my plans now- for a while i was 6tabling 3.5s to improve a bit as i felt im like rakeback grinder when playing 12+ tables and thats not i want on those stakes After 2-3 weeks 6tabling felt like i have improved alot and added more tables. Felt pretty confident and as most guys i know always claim that 7s are almost as easy as 3.5s, i went for a shot. Decided to invest 30BIs and move down if i bust them.

Been playing 7s all last month, silly low volume, but im only 6tabling and will keep doing that as long as needed to get some proof that i can beat this take for at least 2-3% ROI.

Spoiler

I dont think i should draw any conclusions as the sample is tiny. What i can say is that overall feeling is pretty good. Seems like im getting ranges regs are pushing and i have played enough to see which regs i should avoid. Still i feel mega holes in my game, i know were i should improve and have to find the way to push myself to do that.

In august my target will be at least 2k games, invest waaaay more time in learning and finally buy icmizer and work with it hard!

Also in august i finally will start working out more serious again, which means less drinking, which means more time to invest in poker :)

Been slacking all summer poker wise. Didnt learned almost nothing and same goes for volume... Why? Felt totally burned out to play hypers. They just dont bring me joy anymore and i will not make myself playing them if its so...

So, seems like im done with hypers once and for all. I understand now that this format is just not for me. Cant blindly play them for months actually not knowing my real skill level and how much im actually winning and if i should be winning at all.

In september i finally started to do something again more seriously about poker- have been playing cash games and this seems to be the game that brings me joy again. I can wake up happy knowing that some new hands are waiting for me some new spots which i dont understand yet and the willing to post hands, analyse and learn to improve.

Target for now is to reach nl25 zoom hopefully till the end of the year, after that manage to crush the limit. In september i played about 10k hands nl5 and felt ok there, then moved to nl10... Atm after around 10k hands on nl10 im loosing around 7BIs, but have been really unlucky on hand setups. Im 2 tabling it for now as i mostly aim for improving not for volume obv.

Goals for october:

1) 25k hands
2) catch up with xflixx videos
3) post at least 30 hands
4) go through some basic videos so im sure i havent missed any basic stuff

Cya in a month, hopefully i will be able to post some nice graph and set new goals for further improving :)

Hello, blog!

Im trying out different styles of playing some sessions to see which would fit me best and which would be most proffitable ofc and today i reallized something huge i had totally missed. I tried out being a total nit for couple sessions- low 3betting, low squeezing, not much defending and stealing only with good hands and mostly playing only premium hands overall. And what amazed me was that after i checked my stats after i was 13 10 5 :f_o: :f_o: :f_o:

So that means my understanding about nittty player ranges has been totally wrong all the time and iv been playing crushed ranges against them. And at least 1/3 of the players seems to play this tight. I guess playing back premiums only will be the way to go from now on against these kinda players.

Well, better learn laiter than never right?

Goodbye october, u have been good to me! :)

Hello there! Yet another month have come to the end and some review is needed to summerize. This time i will be approaching little bit differently- i havent checked my overall results all month (only the session ones right after i finish) so i want to note all the general impressions and feelings i got for this month and only then check results.

I would like to start by saying that i have found this awesome feeling again, that im doing things right, that this game is for me and that i can achieve anything. I feel that positive energy again while playing which allows me to feel the game flow and feel like im in total control over the things happening at the tables. In other words- i feel great!
Cant say that i did all i could this month, its still far from that. I am pathologic slacker and i have been this way since i remember myself, but i will manage to turn this around and push myself so i can put much more work and volume in, which will ofc lead me to poker success
Have to say that iv managed to improve my game drastically over this short period of time (this month). Marked most hands were i felt like i dont know what to do or wasnt sure about what i was doing and even posted like 90% of those hands on forum. And it works. Have fixed some massive leaks were i was bleeding money preflop. Have to work more on my postflop thou, still dont know how to fold overpairs and that costs me a lot, but i will get there... Im happy about the way im approaching hand posting- not only i invest time actually thinking about hands im posting, im really trying to analyze them afterwards, so i get the idea of the whole hand and possible outcomes not only to cover the move i made wrong there.
So about the volume- 2/3 of the month i was 2 tabling and i have to say, that i still think that its the best way to improve. Im 3 tabling for like a week now and have to admit that the quality of my game is dropping. Not in a huge way, but still, sometimes i feel like im making rushed decisions because of those alarm sounds ringing and making me nervous. Atm it feels like i can do 1-1.5k hands a day playing my A game, when i go for more i feel like im sliding into auto botting and i dont think im ready for that. I believe that u can autobot proffitably on micro stakes, but my game is not that solid yet. And nl10 is not the limit i wana get stuck in because of lack of improving, so i will try to avoid that.

So, about the october goals-
1) done
2) failed (have cached up to about 15th episode)
3) done (did not count, but i know i posted alot)
4) went through some basic ones, but not much learned there...

Goals for November:
1) 35k hands
2) catch up to the latest episode of flix video series
3) finish watching "chapions stand up one more time" series (done 1/7)

Feels like iv been running really bad for most of the month. Cant say that i got the doomswith though, as i had couple hot days which saved me from disastrous month.

Been donating some stacks in spots were i knew im beat, just was short of selfcontrol. Some tilt donations and idiotic 1BI donation to nl25 >.<

This month i experimented ALOT with some open and resteal ranges, so that brought my redline down for sure.

As the biggest leaks i know of- i get confused about cbetting in 3bet pots. Feels like iv been loosing there ALOT. Not sure if im cbetting too much or just giving up too easy after 1 barrel. This is somthing i need to work on for sure!

For the last few days i started to play 4 tables, dont know if its good thing or a bad, but i feel fine and will be playing 4 for the next month.

Not much to say here, pretty shitty overall feeling...

Spoiler

Next month i want to get 50k hands. Will try to learn how to keep playing when loosing, as this is the biggest problem for not being able to put in some decent volume.

Not in a mood to write but i feel the need to post (for myself) so i will make this short.

December went well results wise, was running pretty hot all month, just 2 sad days were world was against me. Not satisfied with the volume, but i was sick for a week and as i felt dizzy all the time and low on energy, i barely played. Had to make deposit on coral and get accounts linked, so i get silver and am able to post hands again, as pokerstrategy made the section silver+. have to say that im not pleased with their(coral) support as i will not be able to validate my acc and get the moneyz out if i want to, but watever, more important is that i can post some hands again. :)

so, the graph for december:

As for the whole year- most important thing is that it seems i have found the game i like and i will stick with (fingers crossed so this does not change)!
Feels like i have learned ALOT for the past 3months or so iv been playing zoom now and i know which areas to work on to improve, just need to study the game more. Hard to judge myself results wise, i had 2 good months and 1 really bad one. On the paper my graph looks pretty break even, but i feel like im definitely a winning player. At least im beating rake

Now i just need to put in lots of work study wise and push myself to get used to making some decent volume every month with no excauses. This is also the DAY 1 of my "lets fix up my body" challange / to do thing. Hopefully loosing ~15kg fat, fixing my sleep cycle and switching my diet drastically will result in huge energy boost which will help me to deal with my lazyness and constant feeling of being tired and unmotivated to push myself.

Also, im planning to look for some staking options to shoot nl25 in a month or two, but sadly i dont have results yet, to back up my confidence, that i can be winning at nl25. Lets hope next month will be really productive and my "money picture" aka graph will start to look more attractive.

Cya in a month!

ps. today our country (Latvia) switched to Euro and ofc some hype has been going on for months now about using the new money and getting used to it. And i was like- yea whats complicated about that, im so cool, i dont care this is trouble only for old ppl... And ofc today i went shopping for some groceries and after i had paid and was half way home i reallized i payed too much i overpayed like 4 euro and the lady who served me was so tired of all that Euro bullshit that she did not groceries noticed. So IN MY FACE (facepalm)
