Don't forget that posts about drunken grinding, crushing, and swings are also much appreciated :f_biggrin:

Yo guys !

Yesterday I finally graduated and got my diploma. Now only I've to decide what to with it :)
Today I got black member here, so everything is going pretty well this week. Probably should ask stuff to change my avatar to bm's. What do u think which one looks better ?

Also if u don't know what's the variance, I will post my stars graph of few last months below. This is the sickest downswing and upswing I've had, at least in $$$, maybe had something bigger in bb's. This is nl400 and 500 together.

Congrats, both on the bm and on the diploma :f_biggrin:

Sick graph.

BTW, when are you getting back to hand evaluations? I would love to hear your thoughts on my nl100 hands.

Don't want to be a jerk or something, but you've been running above EV the whole time. You've maybe stopped getting it in good, but I wouldn't call that a downswing.

@Vladimir if 20k isn't DS then what is? not like EV was b/e all the time and only winnings went up

The definition of the downswing is sustained losses due to bad luck and the guy has been running above EV since the 1st Hand. What is your point exactly?

lol vladimir, you think ev line doesnt have variance or bad luck ? :f_confused:

Hi getdotacom
I have enjoyed your blog, especially the theory posts. However I did have one question regarding your preflop opening ranges. I definitely learnt a lot but I noticed that you chose to 4bet AKs from MP onwards and flatting AKo. (I traditionally do it the other way round) I understand that AKs has up to 5% more equity against allin ranges. But does this outway its excellent postflop playability. Is its ability to flop flush draws and backdoors, ( and thus being able to valuebet and bluff more) less than the direct equity gotten from getting it allin?

Thanks

Flopping backdoors and even flushdraws OOP isn't that important. Most of the time we won't be able to realize our equity and it's pretty hard to get value from our draws when we hit OOP. So basically we're playing for a pair with AK or sometimes even calling down with AKhi since this hand has a good showdown value. For these reasons I like to 4bet AKs and call AKo. We have a plenty of QJs type hands to call and hit a draw and these hands will hit more often than AKs if we're speaking about draws.
