My gf wants to start playing poker and I am thinking about what version to start with.
Her objective would be to make a few hundred bucks/month, she would be very happy to have her own money.
I am a 6max player transitioning to HU cg.
So far I thought about starting with sngs, emphasizing HU sngs until she builds br to play also HU cg.
What would you advise? 6max/fr cg are excluded
Whatever you are most experienced in so you could give her solid guidance imo.
If not taking that into account, HUSNGS are great and low variance at the lower levels up to maybe 60s or so.
Obviously FR. Easiest to start off with. For HU she will just tilt away like there's no tomorrow.
when my gf started out, i told her to play 9 and 6max sngs... She did quite well with only a basic knowledge (home-game knowledge), so i'd think this could be a good start
I started off with 9man SnGs but that was back when I didn't know what I was doing, lost most of my starting stack.
Then I started playing FR Short Stack Strategy and that worked really well for me. It was kind of easy on nl2. Later I made the transition to BSS and after that to SH.

In Belgium live freeroll poker boomed in 2009-2011. I learned her to play poker at those free tournaments. Later on i let her play 2nl online and she can beat that: Mission complete
