16$ tourneys (which would be my upper limit at the 600$ max bonus deposit bankroll) only give 5 points per, still less tourneys, but higher variance, mathematical chances of going broke are higher (at least for someone under 1k SNG's like me)

$16 - 12/day @ 5 points over 80 days is 4800 points
..or 6/day for 160 days, or 24/day for 40 days etc...

Not so bad at all unless my calculations are off..especially if it's ROI positive (thanks to help pokerstrategy.com.) Plus you get all those points at the end to enter satellites with or buy a hat maybe?

having said that. play at 6$ seems strange. Last tourney someone reraises over limpers into me 1/3 my stack very early on with 88, I have KK push and win. On the bubble, A6o raises UTG and calls an all in reraise from AKs. Is better at $16?

Well, not, we're trying to decide the optimum FPP satellites to play.

Obviously it depends on the individual's goals and needs. I think we can sum it all up as:

5400FPP sat to Sunday Million
- Uses a lot of FPP quickly.
- Expensive and high variance for many micro players.
- Level of play is the highest (still good on week-ends).
- Doesn't run as often as the others.

210FPP sat to Sunday $100K
- Level of play is very bad.
- 6 players go through so never short handed.
- Runs quite often.

70FPP sat to Sunday $100K
- Level of play is the worst.
- Requires considerable HU/SH play which may be problematic if massively multi-tabling.
- Runs the most often.

There are other sats but I think these three are the most commonly used. Others tend to be much higher variance (ie: Sunday Million, 500FPP, 27 players, 1 goes through).

Playing sats vs Buying bonus
- Bonus requires no variation for your cash game play.
- Sats mean you have to play donkaments.
- Sats you don't have to wait to save up FPP and then clear bonus.
- Sats will give better rate of return if you're better than the donkament field, but you're working for it.
- Sats are higher variance.

Well if you're looking to get it cleared as quickly as possible then multitabling cash is gonna be much quicker than sngs. I would suggest SSS NL25+ or BSS if NL10 but even then it's still a grind due to the way they award FPPs so SSS would be my choice.

Fixed Limit also give huge amount of FPP's.

5k hands 0.5/1 FL (which needs like 500$ BR) and i got 1k FPP (3 days)

Also 1/2 FL gives something like 1 FPP each 2 hands and it's playable with a little more than 1k BR

Not sure if NL is higher, but i don't think so (a lot of hands are decided with CB's or pre-flop, that don't make too much rake)

SNG's are bad for FPP's, with a same BR management i was getting FPP's to silverstar close to goldstar playing 3h/day (non-turbos). Playing 3h/day FL would give me something like 8k i think (close to platinum).

Also the next level of SNG's would give me 2xFPP's, the next FL level probably give me 2.5x more

FL makes much more VPPs than NL.

Sounds great if you enjoy FL. For me, I'm not interested in how fast I clear it, so long as I'm not losing money! A comfortable average of 5 $16 tourneys a day for 180 days with low enough variance doesn't seem a bad way to get $240 and 4800 points. 25NL SSS was an option, but I feel too much like a robot..and FL just doesn't do it for me, except in HORSE tourneys lol.

There's an added bonus of playing lots of SNG's at Pokerstars, and that's the battle of the planets bonuses and tourney. I see a few of us are making the cut, even on coachings.

Agreed there are faster ways to clear bonus than SNG's if that's your only consideration, it's not too bad anyway you look at it. It's on!

Which game earns more points at our BRM?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SSS NL25 there'll be .40c rake on each hand of $8 I win. SSS means 1 point every time I double up for a $10 pot? I have to consistently double up once per table in about 1/3 the time as it would to play a SnG tourney for $6.60 earning 3 points. This sounds about even to me. Probably pokerstars optimizers are good enough to make a system that didn't favour any one game significantly, but reward higher limit (and in my case would be bad BRM) play a lot more.

First Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

* $0.40 for fixed limit poker games with stakes $1/$2 and lower
* $0.40 for NL/PL poker games with blinds $1/$2 and lower
* $0.40 for "1-on-1" poker games (this applies only to "1-on-1" tables, not to regular tables which have only two players seated)
* $1.00 for all other games

Second FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

* $2.00 for all 6-max tables (this doesn't apply for games being played 6- handed at 10/9/8 player tables - just 6-max tables)
* $3.00 for all other tables

Third FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches $5.00.
2. Earn FPP credits for tournament play

Five (5) FPP credits are awarded for each $1 in tournament fees paid.

For example, playing in a poker tournament with $20 buy-in and $2 tournament fee, each player will be awarded 10 FPP credits. *Note that partial Frequent Player Points are always rounded to the nearest whole number.
