Pre-flop is quite thin, I wouldn't mind folding unless there's some fish behind you that are likely to call and thus increase our implied odds with the hand.

Flop seems quite standard. On Turn I'd bet myself - he can have worse Ax that go for ch/call or JJ/QQ/KK that are afraid of Ace and don't want to bet second street.

On river you could even raise for value.

Postflop: I think we can bet the turn once he checks. We want value and protection versus (rare) draws.

Appreciate your comments.Turn check was most probably to get value from worst hands that would bet river and to pot control as well.I do not necessary want to paly a big pot with just top pair alone.But river bet sizing is really too big for my liking, if it was not a Q at river, I would really consider folding here.Any thoughts about this?

You should bet the turn for value. Don´t fear this 9.

On the river, it´s a tricky spot. I dont expect that a random NL10er would turn his showdown value into bluff by making an almost pot size bet the way he did.

I dont count AK here. He wouldnt play this way, as I expect a 2nd barrel on the turn.

It´s hard to fold that river, but I cant think anything else than 9x, QQ (rare) or FH here.

I am not really fearing the 9 here but I would agree that we can definitely bet the turn for value.I will keep that in mind but river is rather tricky with such a big bet sizing.

Another crucial advantage on betting the turn is that you turn the hand quite easier to play, because you almost always grant a showdown when you check behind on the river.

When you just check back the turn, you allow him to bluff you or to put you in a tough spot like this one.

Oh yeah, I looked that you had the T9 and he had AQs ♦ So you played this quite fine. His line doesn't seem logical - if he had 9, why wouldn't he bet the turn? Maybe he was going for ch/r there. River is a must call as you now beat all the logical combinations, like AJ/AT/AK and his potential bluffs. You have also under represented your hand there, you look very weak when you check turn.

If I had T9, I would be more inclined to bet the turn but, I think AQ can also definitely bet the turn for value as well.
