is nl5 much more difficult than nl2? I'm currently playing 4 tables, will play 6 if I'm feeling really focused but play on a laptop and its just a bit to hard as I like to tile tables.
I've been playing a few mtt's also cashed $35 in mtt's today... nothing compared to the $12,000 top though
how have you been getting on?

Another graph for the day and another plus day a bit up and down today but kepy my cool and it's the 4th in a row now in the +

I dont think theres much difference but I cant comment much not a gr8 player I make some I lose some Because I play tired sometimes and tilt a few times when I have bad days in mtts . Watch videos keep learning and you will beat it from the progress so far u made I can see u will do it Gl
you seem like a mirror image of the player I am, I do well some days then I'll loose a few big hands and start to tilt the same or loose in mtts and start to tilt. it's something I really struggle to control and it probably my biggest downfall in my game at the moment. hopefully we can bother over come it.
so I was previously playing on 888 nl2 max buy in was $2 stars nl2 max buy in is $6 to which I buy in with $3.50 I find it odd why the max buy in is so different on these two rooms and feel I've had to adapt my playing style to chip stacks more anyone else had this problem?
Playing with 2$ buy in is fine 100bb is a perfect buy in no need to buy in with more
playing with 150-200bb deep is trouble like for coolers kk vs aa u will lose more A set vs your aces u will lose more and U will be uncomfortable shoving a large stack
I get owned by monkeys so I tilt
see this u gain chips wait 3 hours for this crap?
http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/4465691_494F7AF4D4
this is true perhaps I'll start with 100bb instead, what buy in to you use for nl5 are you on stars?
makes sense happens to me a lot grind up my stack and something like this happens to me all the time!
Yes i was in the $1.1 60k guaranteed yesterday got deep had KK flopped a K some donk tried to bluff me off the pot he had suited connectors turn and river gave him the flush, cashed for $20 but wasn't happy at all had been in it for about the same 4+ hours to go out like that.
but it happens right !
haha I play that tournament everyday yesterday this hand before that qq vs a3 and same thing came 37th a week back
ya On stars I use 5$ buy in only I play zoom more than regular coz I feel regular a bit slow and get bored try fancy stuffs and tilt ![]()
sometimes I buy to maximum if I am playing normal and see a huge fish who got lucky and Have to reload my stack to get it back I make it max Also I dont use a hud so its better on zoom than normals

Had my first -$ day yesterday, Although fairly happy handled it well and could off been a lot worse than it was.
my BR now stands at $130, can't decide if I should take a shot at nl5 when I hit $150 or stick at it till I've played at least 20,000 hands (8000 hands so far) to have a good valuation if I'm good enough or just running hot.
I have the next few weeks off work to visit family, weekend holiday and other various commitments so I might give poker a rest all together until after that as I can not give is the full focus I would like to.

Try not to be result oriented. Think and write about other things - quality of your decisions, interesting spots, time played, feeling good/tilted...

Start playing NL5 with $150. The game is the same as NL2 and building your BR should be a bit faster. Although your goal shouldn't be just fast BR building. Improving your game should be first priority but also have in mind super high rake on micro limits. Beating NL2 - NL10 should be your short term goal...doing it fast would be great but usually people become too cocky when they beat microlimits when in reality they still don't know anything. Work on your game, update, grind and you won't be one of them ![]()
Have a good time off and good luck with your poker progress

Thank you for the advice, I try not to be too results oriented, this is why I was thinking of staying at NL2 for 20,000 hands in case I'm moving up limits to fast thinking I can beat them but if NL2 and NL5 are very similar I will have a shot at it when I hit $150 I just don't want to run into it thinking I'm a shark,
I think bet sizes is something I really need to work on, I feel I either tend to bet too big that I don't get called when I hit, or too small that it's worth the call for the other player to hit quite often I spew chips doing this, are their any good videos for bet sizing at bronze level? If not I may consider moving my roll to party at some point as I am tracked there.
Hi All,
Couldn't resist to play a bit tonight although I'm about 300bb down one hand that I assume I played wrong, any advice? I find AA post flop a very hard hand to play at times.

You pretty overplayed those hands :p. AA bet flop way bigger, you want value right? You can make it 12BBs easily there, cus people on nl2 cant fold pairs/draws anyway. Now that MP squeezes just call and reevaluate turn. His line is strong already, so no reason to 3bet him on the flop because you only get action from nutsy hands (like now) and filter out all his bluffs (if he has those there). His min4bet is so nutsy and always a set/straight, so you can fold there still.
QT: c/c flop so you get value from his air that is still willing to cbet. On the turn i would just c/f. Such an ugly turn because 910 arrives, flushdraws arrive and Jx still has you beat, so theres nothing worse you get value from at the turn, which means youre bluffing here, which is a pretty bad board to do on here. River just c/c as played. Hes not calling any straights/flushes on such a board with obv fullhouse potential.. so basically when he calls its at best a split vs Qx, and sometimes you own yourself vs Jx, so the bet is really pointless.

When you get rolled for NL5, just start playing and don't worry too much about moving up too fast. You can still go down if you hit a bad streak.

After seeing last two hands I must agree with you about bet sizes which should be your priority atm.
In general flop cbet should be between 1/2 and 2/3 pot size. Depending on the board and your opponents.
On T your bet should vary also but in general 1/2 is min.
Your goal should be to get opponent stack. Although that's not always possible so you should adjust to your opponents and not do auto moves and bet sizes.
Create skype account and we can say some more about it. ![]()
Hand1
Preflop: r to min 6bb better bigger than smaller. You want to build the pot and not invite them to join you.
Postflop: Quite drawy board so I would bet between 10 and 12bb. When you see a call and a minr you should be afraid. You're thinking between calling and folding. Since you still beat some hands I would go for call but if you face aggression on later streets you should just fold it.
Start making 'hero folds' for this limit. And don't beat yourself when you see some bluffs.
Hand2
Don't call this kind of hands OOP. If you hit your Q you have no kicker and if you hit T there might be some overcard to it. And in every case you won't be going broke unless you hit some straight or 2 pair. Fold preflop, that's it.
You get into bad spots like this all the time. Either 3b preflop (in theory, not with this particular hand) or fold from SB.
Thank you both for the invaluable advice, makes sense and reading you're review's on the hands helps me see it from a different angle other than a donks angle.
I will incorporate these bet sizes and moves into my play hopefully will prevent me from spewing all these chips away I think I just get to deep into my hand and only look at the outcome that I think I'm going to win and do not consider what villain might have.
Again, many thanks to both of you. (i will look into getting skype as well!)
so I'm back, started to use HM2 as I just find it more useful to quickly check hands I lost, easier to use and I just prefer the features it has.
Also started to play 3 regular tables and 1 zoom. the one zoom table is helping me prevent getting bored when I don't hit hands and calling bottom pairs just because I want some action so a few positives!
played again yesterday here is my graph. BR is climbing well from NL2 and a few cashes in MTT I'm at just over $150, going to wait till I have $200 then I'll take a shot at NL5
Very nearly tilting, never been dealt so many good hands in a small space off time and didn't win a single one of them.
Just got to think "I'm glad this is only nl2"
