Hi guys,

My name is MrBFC, I'm a 22 year old guy from Belgium, and I recently started to play Poker online. I've been playing it offline for about three years now, with regular long breaks, because offline cash games with friends doesn't give me what I look for in a poker game.

Always being too young to play for real money online, I never got to start it, but now that I'm eligible to do so, I'm really excited and can't wait to start!

I really like the SNG type of play, so I'm looking for ways to become better in MTTs in general. I have NO experience at all at this (online), and a real life friend of mine referred me to this site.

I hope I can learn a lot from you guys, and if someone thinks he could help me on the way with some basics or some tips, feel free to contact me!

See you soon on the boards,
BFC

Hey there MrBFC and welcome to PokerStrategy.com!

I guess we are polar opposites in ways - I very rarely play live poker and almost all my poker has been online though!

I am a SNG/MTT player at heart, I've tried cash games off and on during the years but at the end of it all I tend to go back to SNG/MTT nearly always.

So, where do you play online then?

Take a look at our partner poker rooms and see if you are interested in setting up an account there and you can start learning our educational materials to aid your game.

You should buy your friend a drink for referring you here as I'm sure you will really enjoy being a PokerStrategist!

Best regards,
Gary.

I play almost solely on Pokerstars, but seeing as I already HAD an account there before getting to know PokerStrategy.com, I couldn't partner up with it. I therefor also made an account on Coral Poker, so I can try out 2 different rooms. I think that I'll stay with Pokerstars though, since I'm liking the SNG Turbos there!

Oh well, that is a shame about your PokerStars account. It is quiet a common occurance though.

Whilst being basic still gives you a taste of our educational content it would be better if you did have a higher status :)

You can buy a status in our points shop though which is pretty awesome! For example a monthly Silver package costs just $9!

Definitely worth considering in my opinion :)

Regards,
Gary.

When I keep playing online, I'll most certainly get myself the silver status, be it buying it, or playing in different rooms. I really don't want to commit myself too much, without being sure that I like online play!

Hi there MrBFC,

I noticed you said you had no experience of online Sit and Go games, so I found a few videos for you that match your status:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/#contenttype=17&gametype=7&tablesize=0&languages=en&levels=basic,bronze&lowerlimit=0&upperlimit=100&ob=date&od=desc&page=1&rpp=10

There are plenty of really good articles here:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/sng/

...and not forgetting the indispensible free training software you may download here:

http://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-tools/icm-trainer/

I hope you find some of them at least a little helpful and entertaining.

Best regards and have fun,

Mal.
