Playing regs heads up

We get to heads up in STT. We are vs regular player we know will no flat much but will 3bet/fold mostly.
If someone of us is short it usually will be nash based ship/fold game and there is really nothing much to talk about.
However more important is how we play when we are 12+bb. We should ship not exploitable only if we feel that our opponent will exploit our min/call and min/fold ranges lot more better then we do his.
When we ship 12+bb deep we are giving away huge edge, our opponent with good min/call or min/fold play will dominate us hard. We are risking all our chips (or effective stack) to win same 1.5bb what our opponent do by risking 2bb.
We need understand how wide our opponent is 3betting us and if it really wide we need include limping range but if he is way too tight and fold lot from bb we can open any2 (recommended to fold few total junks to not get obvious).
Thing what people seem miss when playing vs good regs (and pasive players) who 3bet very wide (no raise enough over limp in passive player case) is to include limping range where we can put hands what flop well, few ax/kx hands to not allow our opponents believe we always miss a/k high boards when we limp first and if our opponent exploit our limping by raising wide over our limps we can include limp trapping range (limping very good hands with our limping range).
There is ICM calculators such as icmizer with ones you can learn ranges you can push over player who have different sb open/call to 3bet range what will help us when opponent min raises us. At first it can seem very complicated to put people on ranges but over time you will understand it better and better.
But most important heads up is to exploit better then opponent when we are deep enough to no play push/fold game.

Will try some 18man sng today, i am targeting to move from 9man to 18man eventually.

I have hear games is lot weaker in 18man vs 9man avarage game

Was busy today and was no playing much, played just 18man. I am considering move to 18man fully because players there seem lot worse then in 9man. Will no play much Thursday. Will try grind much 18man tomorrow.
If i will not get our of minuses i still will donate minimum of 10$ for charitywater from my bankroll.
Hopefully will get higher volume with time but also there is other life then poker outside home.

9man vs 18man average bubble factor

So what is average bubble factor? Basically it is how much it suck to lose vs how much you gain by winning ratio what always is greater then 1 in tourneys while in cash games it always is 1 because there isn't any bubble factors.
When we are starting 18man we get average bubble factor of 1.13 and during 2 table stage it increase just to 1.29 what is just little more then 9man starting bubble factor 1.21. So we are playing more chipev in 18man game during early blinds then in 9man.

During final table we are getting some higher bubble factor then in 9man because more places is paid. After 18man cashing bubble (from 5 to 4 players) is gone it basically become 9man sng because similar average bubble factor. Bubble factor in 18man 4handed still is high even when all is itm because 18man flat payout structure.
What higher bubble factor mean to us? Our opponents is supposed to call tighter and when we have bigger stack we should abuse players more then in 9man and we know how wide we can abuse players in 9man with big stack.
However we also need fold more hands when we are shortstack and someone is abusing us.
Also because higher bubble factor we need fold more vs loose callers after us then in 9man.
But all in one switching from 9man to 18man isn't hard imo. It like 9man and 18man is in one category but 45+ players tournaments in another one because lot different payout structure and bubble factors.

Played just 18man today, still getting used to new payout structure so playing fewer tables and volume isn't that high.
Was running extreme good today, made some bad plays but seemed overall no playing that bad. But really we all think we play good when running good. :/
I still think players in 18man is lot worse. Regular players seem even not know that 4handed bubble factor still is very high because flat payout structure.
Need get used to it and play more tight allowing them splash their chips.

Day 7
Week 1 results: 137.31

Today played just one hyper turbo 1.50$ hu sng to understand how good/bad i play during evening after was away from home all day. Lost that sng and realized thinking isn't sharp at all, so no wanted play higher 18man/9man games.

So 10% is 13.73$ this week but i will round it up to 20$ for reason i am willing to go for higher challenge till this year end and completing it will give me motivation go for higher charity challenge next year.
For example if i do just 250$ challenge this year 1250$ challenge for all year will be super big in my mind but if i will complete 500$ this year i will see i can easy make 1250$ during 12 months and will be willing to go for 2500$-3000$.

Some might ask why i do just 10%-20% donations.
I am going for being full time poker player so i need pay for rent ect. from earnings. Right now i am getting some money from outside poker but after time i will need make 600-800$ per month just from poker so i want collect money now so i have some money behind if i am no making enough later on but i hope increase volume every month and studying multiple hours every day with few days in month free. I am thinking about 1 day/week taking free to hang out with friends plus i might be spending some more days outside home if in region is social activity's what is targeted to in my view good things.

Value betting 3 streets with middle pair

Player i was playing vs was 70/20 pasive player

MP+1: 72 BB
CO: 149 BB
BTN: 71 BB
SB: 87 BB
BB: 71 BB
UTG: 75 BB
UTG+1: 75 BB
Hero (MP): 75 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♦ A♣

UTG calls 1 BB, fold, Hero raises to 3.5 BB, fold, fold, BTN calls 3.5 BB, fold, fold, UTG calls 2.5 BB

Flop: (12 BB, 3 players) J♠ K♠ 5♣
UTG checks, Hero bets 5.5 BB, BTN calls 5.5 BB, fold

We might do bigger bet on flop but i feel it ok to bet smaller with super fishy player at pot to no build too big pot because he still can call us with ton goofy hands and we want not build too big pot just middle pair knowing we probably getting till later streets with this super bad player big % of time.

Turn: (23 BB, 2 players) 8♥
Hero bets 9 BB*, BTN calls 9 BB

On turn i am putting opponent on all kind kx hands, jx hands, draws and random junks because how bad he is and feel there is still value to get from him but same as on flop i don't want get committed or lose too many chips and stay with healthy stack when we are vs strange kx hand call down or get raised on turn/river (in tournaments chips lost is more important then chips won).
*8bb is also ok sizing what might be even better

River: (41 BB, 2 players) 7♣

On river i feel lot players misplay hand by somehow not seeing value anymore in hand because player have called 2 times us and do small blocker bet or check river. We can think player might been raised kx hands on flop or turn but vs this player it isn't case good % because he probably as being passive player no raising smallest kx but still he might be raised us with higher kx, so we can even discount some kx combos on river but for sure not all.
We are loosing to all kx hands (or strange 2p+ call downs) but we are getting value from all jx, 8x, some 7x or even best a high hands what this player is capable of calling river bet. I probably bet around 14.5bb (12.5bb if turn is made 8bb) for value and seeing worst hands more times then best hands calling triple barrel bet.
I think most players overrate how theses players think because during game they no think, people think they fold jx, 8x, AQ hands on turn or river bet or similar, they just do what seem natural to them and for 70/20 player natural seem call till he have any outs/have any peace of board and call river bet if he have anything and he is no thinking about anything close opponent hand.

Folding to become 3th with no hope get 2nd or 1st. I am surprised how many people never fold here but call ATC to get chance win whole tournament.

Realistic scenarios:

If we calling to get chance win whole tournament -
1)we bust 4th winning 1.67 buy-in majority of times
2)When we win we still have pretty small chance get higher then 3th place anyway with 3bb
3)Pretty small % of times we get 2nd or 1st place what no close compensate our 4th time busts long-run.

If we fold and stay us 8 chips -

1)We have decent chance become 3th. Sb is with stronger range then co so he probably will win pot more then 50% times and we will get 3th place more then 50% time what is 3.33 buy-in.
2)We still can get super extreme lucky and win whole thing.

So what is better - bust with 1.67 bi big majority time and have small chance win more then 3.33 buy-in or just win 3.33 buy-in most times?

I think people also make theses mistakes because it hard to realize real situation while multi-tabling when we see our stack 8 chips stack at first but no focus much on other factors because we are running out of time on other tables and making call just because thinking "how we can fold 8 chips stack while blinds is 600/1200, i have done theses mistakes myself and it one reason why i am getting Logitech g700 mouse - to have more time realize real situation and no make instant decisions where need look at more factors.

problem what i have sometimes is doing something else (skype/web ect.) when ending up session (1-3 last tables). Over long-term i think it make some big difference if am fully focusing on last tables.
I am going to put sticky note on my screen side and remind not do it/make focus on not doing it and i am willing to really stop do it. There is big difference if you are willing to do thing or just doing without willing to do it.

Good run continues. Today was out of home from 5pm and was playing just little more then 2 hours after doing some studying. Needed play out several tables without adding new ones because HUD was getting lags so lost some volume there.
Note to myself - check if HUD update information normally for few hands before starting add massive count of tables.
However there is good news, i have started add some more tables and hopefully will be able play lot more games now.
I still need study hard 18man but overall i think most people no realize how similar them is to 9man so no getting lost much but still making more mistakes then usually but i think it supposed to be that way after changing game format and when no sure about different spots what come up only now playing 18man.

Under huge icm pressure bvb

Key factors for hand:

*18man 4handed
*We are under super huge icm pressure because super short btn
*BB is loose passive player who will call too wide and ship is big -ev here
*BB will no raise much over our limp because he think in 0 level and have no idea about icm pressure
*Effective stack is 8bb

BB: 8.94 BB
CO: 5.06 BB
BTN: 0.61 BB
Hero (SB): 7.89 BB

4 players post ante of 0.06 BB, Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.75 BB) Hero has T♣ J♥

fold, fold, Hero calls 0.5 BB, BB checks

With all key factors combined i have decided limp/steal even being under super big bubble factor. I am thinking player will no raise over my limp not even close as needed and will fold 2/3 times to flop bet when he misses it.
Some player might argue we should just fold if we can't ship because it highly exploitable icm spot where opponent is correct to push over any2 cards, but idea is that he will no exploit spot at all but play his normal play where it huge +ev to limp/steal with his expected playing tendencies.
Note if we are under 7bb i just fold/ship but being almost 8bb i think it fine to limp/steal here and if we fail we still have 5.89bb what still is 2nd biggest stack.

Flop: (2.25 BB, 2 players) 7♠ T♥ 9♠
Hero bets 1 BB, BB raises to 7.88 BB and is all-in, hero ?

We obviously folding here because btn being so short, bb being passive player and 18man flat payout structure.
I am posting this hand because we see ugly scenario what can happen doing this play but it no happen that often you might think.
About 2/3 times we take down pot of flop and if we don't then we still can win whole think with 2nd biggest stack being vs really bad big stack player (loose passive).

Let me know if you think i am crazy.

Today realized that pt4 with filter "2 tables tournaments" somehow no track all sng's, i suppose no tracking sng's where wasn't final table or something, no sure. Cleared that filter. Was not noticed difference because was no sure where was bankroll during each morning.

So want update some real information:

In first week there was some difference between actual results and information i provided but no that big one because wasn't playing 18man that much. Donations still is minimum 10% from winnings.

Last 2 days (day 8 and day 9) actual results: 124.59

Difference from provided results: 126.70

I am going to donate 20$ for difference i messed up and setting goal to 270$ so it no counted as part of winnings donation. Deleted all filters so it should be fine now.

Sorry about this.

However from other view point it donated now more then it might be without mistake made.

Getting some advises from some good players for some other books but will read them after ending theses 2.

Today pt4 was just not showing hud and no importing anything. Decided it will cost me less to buy hem2 then go over with all lags with pt4 team for long time.
Will see how hem2 will do it job.

Holdem manager 2 seem lot better for now then pt4, it lot faster and import things lot more faster what give feel i am flying thought tables now and no need wait several seconds to mark hand ect. also importing seem lot more smoother.
I totally love pt4 for my 9 years old laptop thought what i use sometimes. Pt4 definitely is better for older pc's imo.

I am looking forward study some cash games videos/books to improve my postflop skills because with 9man/18man playing/studying there isn't much space to improve solidly postflop skills.
