Hey guys, I was checking the pokerstars' page about their VIP club and I was wondering how accurate is their calculation about the approximate hands required for each Vip status (for example, for platinum status: http://www.pokerstars.eu/vip/platinum/ ). I understand of course that this mostly depends on your playing style, but I'm asking based on your own experience

Of course it is very accurate for MTTs and SNGs. While if you play cash-game it may vary a bit.
Here is My Example:
I play NL16. Around 15000hands/month and my status is Silver.
I entered this information into Calculator and it gave me the same result so Silver.
So it does something correctly for sure

Yeah, I'm asking about cash games. I'm playing NL10 SH and I was thinking about grinding to reach platinum status. But I don't think I can make it if I will have to play a lot more hands than 80,000 
uugh yeah 80k hands is really sick volume. With NL10 even Gold is difficult to achieve i cannot imagine how difficult would be to achieve Platinum.
Maybe it is possible on ZOOM tables but on regular ones we should really grind hard to achieve that.
Grinding NL10 zoom for platinum status depends on my stats. I currently avg 24/20 4tabling, so on average I play 1k hands and earn 40-50VPPs per hour. 200hours per month would be about 7hours/day or 7k hands per day. Tough to reach.
Yeah also it is a question of concentration and so on. Also after you reach such a goal you have to maintain it and it is a possibility that you became sick of poker because of too much play.
But well....also with gold status you will get many benefits and i guess it is reachable for you.
