Yeah kinda figured about sharky, but looks like a great bit of software

And i had the same problem whilst playing cash, except with hypers its even easier to check after games, which i was doing, now im aiming to check after every 5-10 games, but still its a waste of time tbh..

7s is very weak. I think there are no "regs" there. If there is they are mega weak.

On the 7s and 15s I think ~80% of the tables are vs a fish so just focus on vbet, don't spew too much money on bluffs and work on your game when the eff. stacks are below 12bb. Most fishes don't know how to play at that stack size.

Ahh ok, seems very different to cash games since u say there are very few regs on 7s/15s, whereas when i played SH even NL10 was at times filled with regs, seems the regs move up faster in hu hypers, but theres still good money to be made at 7s/15s which is interesting, cant complain though! :)

Played a small session so far, and im not running well, but i had a major upswing yesterday so again cant complain! Will play another session after the football later on

Also given your advice about 7s/15s, my roll is currently around $400, with a $50 stellar bonus soon to come, any advice on taking aggressive brm shots at 7s, i mean my game is far from perfect ofc but i guess i could do well at them if im beating the 3.50s, maybe shoot 7s at $450, and move back down at $350 roll if things go badly?

Deff play the 7s, before that try to make a chart or something when you play for the stacksizes 0-12bb (talking about effective stacksize).

On the 15bb+ stacksize you should have no problem vs most opponents. Since almost all games require you to "finish off the opponent" you need to make sure your 6-12bb game is good.

I started off with ROFL chart from mers e-book. I used to be a nit so I always called abit tighter than nash when facing jams.

And cbet alot on the flop... like 95% of the time. Also don't balance your bet, if you want to cbet bluff on flop, bet like t30. For value go t45/50/55/60

Hey, thanks for the advice and it sounds like a solid plan, tomorrow i will devise some strategy and maybe shoot some 7s in the evening, which im looking forward to

Today i didnt play alot, ended up watching football most of the day and just generally having a lazy day!

I will put in some work on my game tomorrow as advised, seems my 6-12bb is the weakest part of my game so im looking forward to devising some strategy tomorrow!

Will post a more indepth post tomorrow with my findings/strategy, also a very good point about the cbet sizings, which is something i never really thought about before, especially when being shallow, i usually just click "1/2 pot" and hope to take it down, but i guess im losing out on chips that way.

Thanks again for the advice, GL All :)

Hey,

As planned from yesterday i put in some work refreshing my blind play from the SB when stacks get shallow as advised :)

Some of the sort of conclusions i have come to may still be wrong/i might be misunderstanding some things so would appreciate if people could check over it, some questions mixed in aswell :

Spoiler

Ok so firstly I concentrated on SB play between 6-12bb, according to Mersennary you cant really go wrong with employing a shove/fold strategy following the nash charts from 8bb or less, so that seems like the way to go 8bb or less, the only exception is some hands can be limped if villain doesn’t attack limps at all and folds a lot postflop, but still there isn’t too much room to play about postflop anyway at that stack depth. However im still unsure, even at for example 6bb, should I be min/raise calling say JJ+,A8+ etc, all my value hands or are they still an open shove so short, I mean raise/calling them seems better in order to induce a shove from villian, but it’s so unbalanced, but I don’t think balance matters much at the micros?

I then checked out the 12bb stack depth advised ROFL chart, looks like a very solid chart so I may just start out following the chart. 10bb is kinda inbetween, but I feel like following the ROFL chart but increasing my raise/call range, decreasing my raise/fold range and keeping the same limping/open shoving ranges will be a decent place to start at 10bb.

Thats kinda a vague default strategy that will ofc need to be adjusted vs different opponents, and i also need to review my shallow play from the BB.

Feedback is very much appreciated, gl all

just jam your Ax also at 6bb you dont induce much at that stack and limp JJ+.

Also keep in mind that rofl is good only when your villain is 3betting(20% 3bet doesnt count). If villain doest 3bet much you should openjam more for value.

Hey,

Ok thanks, limping JJ+ makes sense, and didnt know about the 3betting part so thanks again :)

Had a tiny shot at 7s, given i dont have my $50 stellar yet (100 VPPs to go), my shot is over before its begun basically, didnt play amazing, but meh some failed bluffs which i will post, was sure they wud work

24o hand: raise = limp > fold imo but all options are ok preflop
as played... give up on turn on such boards. board is dry, you will rarely get villain to fold of a Jx on turn. Alot of fish calls with Kx Qx as well. Avoid cbetting without any EQ (like oesd/FD), just dont do it.

47s hand: cbet bigger on turn, like t90-120. t120 if you have a value hand and board is drawy. Shove river. If you decide to cbet turn the size must be enough to make a river shove possible without 'overbetting'. If you cbet t90 on turn, the river pot is t340. You have t330 left, you can shove. You do this with all your value hands, SHOVE river, people call you off light.

Reminder again: dont cbet turn with total air, just dont do it, its spew + unneeded on 7s. Cbet turn with good value hands and good draws (fd/oesd/good overcards+gutshot etc). After cbet turn, shove river with any value hand. Idea is to loose as little chips as possible with our junk hands and bet alot with our value hands

1st hand just give up turn, but cbet for sure, 4 high on Axx flop I cbet 100% of the time no matter what stakes.

2nd hand I havent payed 7s but Id also 3ple barrel and jam river, allways jam river when bluffing, also nothing wrong with overbetting rivers, not big ofc like 400->200 pot, but small overbets are fine.

but overall yeah play for value, Id bluff barrel at 7s only very good cards.

Thanks for feedback on hands, looking back i think hand 2 is marginal but probably ok, and hand 1 is just spew i think, but i will take into account bet sizings more from now on. :)

Ok so low volume on sunday so i will just post graph for this week so far:

Will post some hands i specifically picked out because i feel like ive learned immediately since the last hands i posted, which is good and is all thanks to the hands analysis so thanks again :)

Hero (BB): 440 (22 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J 9

Flop: (120) 6 8 Q (2 players)
Hero bets 60, SB calls 60

Turn: (240) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets 140, Hero folds

Results:

Spoiler

240 pot
Final Board: 6 8 Q 6
Hero mucked J 9 and lost (-120 net)
SB mucked and won 240 (120 net)

This is a spot i may have previously barreled, but thanks to advice i decided to check behind

Hero (SB): 640 (32 bb)

160 pot
Final Board: 3 K 5 9 9

This hand i sooo wanted to barrel the turn, but again im going to stick to value and decided to check behind here

Poker Stars, $3.40 Buy-in (10/20 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BB: 460 (23 bb)
Hero (SB): 540 (27 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7 3
Hero raises to 40, BB calls 20

Flop: (80) 2 K T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 40, BB calls 40

Turn: (160) A (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: (160) 3 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Results:

Spoiler

160 pot
Final Board: 2 K T A 3
BB showed Q 9 and lost (-80 net)
Hero showed 7 3 and won 160 (80 net)

Final hand, i decided to check behind on the turn as i dont think he folds alot to a barrel even if the A hits + again i have very little equity, lucky i hit some sdv on the river in this case and he checks his missed draw, but still i think this is the correct play vs his entire range.

J9o: cbet flop smaller like t50 (t60-80 for value and higher if wetboard so u can shove turn with ur value hands)

J2s: wp, no need to spew chips vs villains who will rarely fold on such dryboards, they even call u with gutshot and sometimes ur good at river

73s: yeah dont barrel turn, waste of money vs ppl who are clueless about the game

Hey,

Yeah thanks for the hand analysis, today i remembered to alter my betsizes like you advised, but overall today was just very frustrating, played quite alot of "reggy" players today, most of which are still bad players though, cudnt get much going so will call it a day until tomorrow.

Graph of today:

Going few BIs down or breakeven over 500-1000 games is pretty normal in hypers. I've had times when I was BE or losing for like 1500 games and suddenly last 500 games +50BI.

Ahh ok thanks, maybe i was underestimating variance or just letting the games affect my mood i guess

Anyways, today i will sign up to husng, watched all their free vids and now i will sign up to watch the free vids that need to be downloaded, looking forward to learning more and my next shot at 7s!

Today, i will play 2 sessions i think, how long the sessions last today depends on one thing, whether this gets delivered or not :f_biggrin::

Another BE day but i had an upswing before these 2 BE days, so guess its just standard variance as explained before, hope tomorrow is better :)

Where to begin....

Moved out again for my final year at uni, which meant alot of disruption/lack of internet means ive played hardly any poker this last month, lots of uni work coming up so volume will continue to be low, but im still guna play during my free time

Heres where im at, total graph for 1.50s :)

And total for 3.50s

Ok so as you can see, ive been playing 3.50s exclusively for a while now with no consistency in results, at this stage it could all be due to variance, maybe karma since i ran so good @ 1.50s

Will continue to play 3.50s as im comfortably rolled for them, will update again in a week or so with how its going
