I've decided to go for weekly goals instead of monthly ones. Should be easier to keep myself accountable. Still, I wanna set some general goals for January:

:spade: January Goals :spade:
:club: 40 hours of playing poker
:club: 10 hours of learning poker (coaching sessions don't count)
:club: nail all exams on 1st go

I know this isn't much, but that's how far I'm willing to go right now. The numbers are the absolute minimums of course. I've looked through a couple of Schnitzelfisch's (lol hope spelling is right... how can you have a name like that? ) materials here on ps and there are a few I really like. So, for starters, I want to make playing poker and learning poker into habits. I just want to avoid skipping large amounts of time without poker, so my main goal in January is to get accustomed to regular play and not really the volume.

Anyway, so far so good Here I go!

So, as I've said, from now on, weekly goals!

:spade: Weekly goals - Week 1 :spade:

Poker:
:diamond: 10 hours playing poker* (at least)
:diamond: 2.5 hours studying poker* (at least)
:diamond: review all marked hands

Health/Lifestyle:
:diamond: gym/running at least 3 times
:diamond: go to sleep before midnight**

Other:
:diamond: nail exam on Wednesday
:diamond: nail exam on Friday

* coachings given(private or public) do not count
** exception: going out and/or being with gf

Ideally, I'd like to improve to starting each morning with jogging when the weather gets better, around March. Honestly, not sure if I'll be able to pull it off, so that's why I'm writing it down, to have some sort of a proof At least I'll feel bad about it if I fail.

I'll (obviously) also want to improve on the poker time, but wanna start in small steps, just to get used to playing/studying on a regular basis. I know it's not good for my games/hour but I'll try to split the 10 hours into smaller bits with the intention of playing a bit every day.

Getting a normal sleeping schedule is a must. Staying up until 2 am each day screws me over, I'm usually watching a film or reading a book. Which is fine, but I'll just end up more tired than I should be, and I can watch films/read books in the morning or at any time basically. So I'll have to turn this around.

So, started them goals and all. I wanted to play yesterday from 14:00 to 15:30. There was no internet in the house from 13:59 to 15:33. Fucking literally

So, first day of the fresh start without poker (...... ) I played today, my other goals are going ok. Wont spend too much at home tomorrow (exam related stuff from 8 am to 15-17pm) and going to stand up comedy with my father in the evening (it's my X-mas present, yay :) ). Plus I got another exam too so dunno how I'll fit poker in but I'll make it work.

I played an afternoon session today. Well, I prefer morning sessions from now on and I'll try to do everything I can to play in the morning instead of the afternoon.

Oh, and wanted to note that my play was very unstable today. Inconsistent and sometimes a bit tilted (tho not in the regular smash-my-screen sense, but in a not-take-enough-time-to-think snapdecision sense). Have to work a lot on my mental game.

Good luck with your nail exams. I have to ask: fingers or toes?

Didn't play very well today :\ Sad, but have to admit. Will review a couple of hands.

My HM1 is going crazy, it randomly chooses tourneys that it doesnt recognise as finished. A couple each session. Wonder if that causes my EV-line to be off by much?

On another topic, got excellent results in yesterday's exam. Not only did I get the best grade, but I was also the first to finish (apart from those who gave up), with more than 1h left to work. So proud!
Got the next one tomorrow. Numerical Analysis. Not as bad as it sounds :f_biggrin: Have to admit the topic is relatively easy compared to my other exams, which is what I've been telling myself in the last couple of days... And it has caused me to learn less than needed...
Anyway, I'm still doing reasonably well. My mindset is ready, hope my knowledge will also be ok tomorrow. Luckily, it's at noon so I'll still have some time to review it in the morning. Gonna rest a bit now.

Peace out!

:spade: Goals review - Week 1 :spade:

Poker:
:diamond: 10 hours playing poker* (at least) SUCCESS
:diamond: 2.5 hours studying poker* (at least) FAIL (lol....)
:diamond: review all marked hands FAIL

Health/Lifestyle:
:diamond: gym/running at least 3 times FAIL (2)
:diamond: go to sleep before midnight** FAIL (but honestly I did better than expected )

Other:
:diamond: nail exam on Wednesday SUCCESS YAY
:diamond: nail exam on Friday NO RESULTS YET :f_o:

I really feel shitty about the gym fail, the rest is not such a disaster as I've spent my time on useful stuff (exams). Well, not a very good start to the year, but I'm gonna succeed!

Still trying to make a habit of poker, so trying to play on as many days as possible, even if for just one quick set. Tomorrow I won't be playing (studying and then meeting with friend), so I'll put in some extra today.

Aw crap. Overslept today which just cuts 2 hours out my schedule... I've got to study for my exam, so I either skip gym today or I skip poker today. None of which seems a good idea... *sigh*

Hope at least I'll be more rested and hence more productive.

Ok, so a little update. I didn't complete any of my poker-related goals last week (reason: fkin hard exam yesterday), but I did spend a lot of time studying, and I did pass the exam yesterday! Wooohoo!

Goal for this week is 10 hours play minimum, 2.5 hours studying minimum, 3 times gym, going to bed before midnight. Not a lot, but I'll only have 4 days when I can effectively work on them.

Cheers guys!

Had a morning session and I played so bad.

Ok it probably wasnt THAT bad but I had a couple of lines which I shouldn't have played, and what's worse: I knew exactly I shouldnt be playing them. As some of you may know, this kind of shit pisses me off, so I went to some (moderate) tilting... :f_cry: Wasn't spewing money around too much, but pulled a couple of more stupid lines.

Overall, I'm like 3-4BIs down, so it's really nothing, but my mindset has suffered from this session. Skipping today until the coaching, gonna look at hands and whatnot.

Cheers guys!

p.s. this weeks goals are looking good, update in the evening!

Did coaching go any better than earlier session? :)

Playing 60$ 6max mostly? At least I seem to run into you often there.
