Finally finished for christmas so poker volume will be upped for a month or so

Been checking out my options but it seems the correct choice is obvious, but here goes:

Playing hu turbos on pokerstars - $3.50s - 5.1% rake
$7s - 4.1% rake

OR

Playing on unibet (microgaming) - €2.75s - 9.1% rake
€5.50s - 9.1% rake

Rakeback on unibet = 30% flat so rake actually = 6.37%
Rakeback on stars = ???

Probably realistically looking at silverstar on pokerstars, so i wont get much rb from that.

Question, is the softer competition on unibet worth the extra rake??

Also another con - HUD isnt working on unibet atm so would have to sort that out but not a big deal.

def stars, you prob make more there even with 0% rakeback and at micros most likely there wont be much difference in skills

Ok thanks :)

Today... Found $15 in my ftp account, so played some hu turbos on there, $5s ofc... ended up losing the $$$ running under ev but they were soft as hell.

Played on stars some 3.50s and so far today running so bad in ev and cd.

Anyways im not here to moan, may aswell update with graphs since moving to turbos:

Exclusively 3.50s:

In chips:

Feels like im running bad atm, but even running on EV im still losing at the game, only a tiny sample though nothing major to worry about, onwards and upwards!

Hey-ho!

Seems the festive spirit has brought me some rungood

My week so far:

Main adjustment has been cutting down to 1 table at a time, ofc with turbos this means getting in volume is proving difficult, but im enjoying a little less variance.

Happy holidays all

Decided to add back in some hypers as theyre too much funn :

Definitely glad i did, managed to put in some good volume today and im happy with the results:

Overall this year i've jumped around between game types too much for my liking, unclear volume targets leaves me starting 2014 with a similar bankroll as when i started 2013.

Starting in 2014 im going to aim to stick with HUSNGs, think theyre really interesting, havnt made my mind up between turbos and hypers, i kinda enjoy both equally. Main difference im aiming for is goals, will start each month with a set of goals which i will update.

Anyways, GL All

Me attempting to become more organised

2014 Goals

- 1800 Games per month (hypers/turbos combined)
- Reach $30 level hypers/turbos
- Start 2-tabling without damaging roi
- Start working out

First goal is to make sure im more organised with volume, this has seriously been lacking. I think reaching 30s may be realistic but im not sure, obv depends on my brm rules and how much i improve and including variance ofc. From what i gather most regs are at least 2-tabling already so this shouldn't be too hard i hope, and finally with regards to working out, im basically a beginner at working out so this will probably be slow progress, but lets give it a go!

GL everyone for this year!

Things not going to plan entirely this month, decided to watch some free vids from sentin, seems im not barreling enough

Some hands im unsure about;

Villian - BB call:60 3b:0

Think im ok raising pre since he hasnt 3bet yet? Is turn an easy shove?

Poker Stars, $3.40 Buy-in (15/30 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (SB): 390 (13 bb)
BB: 610 (20.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J 3
Hero raises to 60, BB calls 30

Flop: (120) 7 T 3 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 60, BB calls 60

Turn: (240) K (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 270 and is all-in, BB calls 270

River: (780) J (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

780 pot
Final Board: 7 T 3 K J
Hero showed J 3 and won 780 (390 net)
BB showed Q 7 and lost (-390 net)

Next hand, same villian, SB stats, Limp:44 raise:33, sample =20 hands

This hand confused me, his limp indicates to me he doesnt have Ax, dont think he raises Qx, so expecting he shoves FDs, he cant have much, maybe Q7 flopped 2p?

Poker Stars, $3.40 Buy-in (10/20 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (BB): 540 (27 bb)
SB: 460 (23 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K 9
SB completes, Hero raises to 60, SB calls 40

Flop: (120) Q A 7 (2 players)
Hero bets 60, SB raises to 120, Hero folds

Results:

Spoiler

240 pot
Final Board: Q A 7
Hero mucked K 9 and lost (-120 net)
SB mucked and won 240 (120 net)

1st raise pre is fine but check flop

2nd yeah, he shouldnt have Ax, but I think folding is fine, aswell calling and proceeding cautious, basically folding if any draw card hits turn, but Id fold

Hey thanks,

Guess i wasnt thinking about his range enough when cbetting in hand 1

In an attempt to find some of my leaks, i decided to filter for stack sizes and found something that i think is quite alarming, if any1 knows anything about these filters advice would be much welcomed

Corresponding in chips:

Also,

Very small stack size:

If any1 knows how these graphs should look like, also general adjustments to be made would be much appreciated

Last month

This month

SO FRUSTRATING!

It's a tiny sample, can't draw any conclusions from any of the graphs.

Hey

yeah was frustrated earlier and posting tiny samples wont help me in the longrun i guess.

However, how big would a sample need to be to draw semi-accurate conclusions, here is my all time graph for 3.50 hypers, is this big enough for any conclusions do you think?

Yeah, if you're BE or slightly losing over 1400 3.5s, I'd get slightly worried. Still doesn't mean you're not a winning player, but I guess you're definitely not crushing the game.

Also, I see you were working on shallow play. I'd suggest the opposite, work on your default 20-25bb game, that's where you should have most of your edge.

Hey

Thanks for the advice, will definitely try working out my 20-25bb game this week

Not really sure what to make of hu hypers atm, theyre such an interesting game, but atm my bankroll stands at the lowest its been for a long time, so i will proceed with caution i think

last weeks graph:

Spoiler

Definitely getting worried now, seems like most others playing hypers are crushing so i definitely must be missing something pretty massively. Anyways gl all!

Put some work into my game this week, seems i was way off on some basic fundamentals, heres my week just gone:

Obv much happier with the results but its still a small sample so im not getting carried away, got an assignment due in this week so volume will be siginificantly lowered, but may still sneak a few games in

Haven't updated in a while, been very busy lately, but still managed time for some poker, and well what a crazy month im having!

Spoiler

Mostly due to running super hot in $3.50 & $7 4man turbos, but im also doing ok in hypers aswell, roll is currently around $450 so im thinking about taking a 10BI shot at $7 hypers

Hey

Not sure if any1 reads this but if so, long time no update!

Lack of updates mainly due to a ton of uni work, but ive got 2 weeks free so im setting myself a challenge, 80 games a day for 2 weeks, might not be alot for some but for me this is alot 1 tabling.

So where am i at?

Still grinding the hypers but im stuck on 7s atm. They seem so much different to 3.50s and im not sure why, check the differences in graphs:

7s:

3.50s:

As you can see im on a bit of a bad run, got about 70BIs for 7s so im sticking at it for now, hopefully be updating daily for once!
