3 bets
Both facing and making a 3 bet are covered in this part. Manu starts off with facing 3 bets and how we can defend. It's nothing mind-blowing in my opinion. What I do miss here is how to play post flop? 4 betting and calling a 3 bet is the 'easy' part. Playing post flop gives me the biggest problem. Having said that I'm only this far in the book and it might be covered later on.
I do like how we should construct 3 bet ranges because Manu explains that our 3 bet range should be different for different opponents. Man I'm really playing to much on autopilot
What I do miss here and again it might be covered later is 3 betting from the blinds. I think it's much different because we are almost always OOP and it's probably where most of the 3 bets happen.
3 betting can get very complex and there are huge articles/video's online about 3 betting. Manu managed to make it short and give you guidance. If it's good to spend "less" time on 3 betting? I don't know, maybe, maybe not.
JB mentions at the end that he'll do some calculations about 3 betting later in the book so it'll be explained a bit more!

Stats
I'll be short about this because this was rather basic. Manu explains what the most used stats mean. First I thought WHAT no examples? And then I looked at the title of the next chapter…
Using stats
Manu explains if we see a number what it could mean. For example is someone is c-betting 90% of the time he is overdoing it a bit usually. I liked this bit because I know what stuff means, but don't know the numbers. I know that I don't use WTSD and I should. I don't use it because I don't know how to. Here's a bit that I like as well. When Manu's done talking about the numbers JB takes over and does the maths. It's important to know the maths ourself. I think it's good that they back up the things they say with maths. I went over it rather quickly though because I've done all the maths myself last month.
We get a view into JB's HUD and it looks a bit like mine ![]()
Now it's time for the fun part about stats - learning how to use them
Wait I thought I just did learn how to…. Nvm I'm a fish ![]()
With a couple of example hands Manu shows us how we can use stats to exploit the villains. I tried to do it myself and then look what Manu wrote and it was a fun thing to do. These were basically in depth hand evaluations but with the focus on how we can exploit villains.
I really did learn something here and know now how I can use the showdown stats to my advantage. Very interesting chapter for me. I can imagine it's a bit standard for others though.

JB tries to play some better poker
This bit is a couple of pages long. Basically it's a HH review of JB's session on nl10. TT takes out the hands that he didn't like that much. It was interesting since I would play most hands like JB did. TT really goes into the ranges of the villain and then how much equity we have etc. This might have been a bit basic, but I'm making basic mistakes so it's good that I've read this. Interesting is that I knew what was wrong so it wasn't eye-openening, but I'm still making those mistakes. Well tbh I'm making them less and less.
What did happen during this chapter is that I literally LOL'd. My mum was like dafuq you laughing about
I'm gonna quote TT, I'd love to write the whole conversation but I don't want to ruin it for you guys ![]()
Muhahaha. And you teach maths. Muhahaha!
I tell you what JB did before this made me laugh out loud. It struck my by surprise and couldn't hold it ♦
Also MrsJB joins in and crushes JB. Shame man, I can imagine him having a hard time at the beginning of this book.
Variance, normal distribution and hitting coconuts
Hitting coconuts? Dafuq?
Lets see if it makes sense if I read the chapter.
Well I read it, the title makes sense, but I'm not sure what I've read. It's about normal distribution. It's something I've read about before but still don't get it a 100% Having said that both JB and TT give examples to explain it as easy as possible. I'm a fish
The bit about variance I did like! I've watched bogdan's vids about this as well and I think it something beginners just don't know enough about. I'm really happy they talk about this in the book even though I've already watched and read about it. Everyone who's running bad should read this imo!
Risk of ruin and bankroll management.
HOLY ****
Bankroll management is something that ppl talk about and have different opinions about it. But JB manages to prove mathematically what kind of BRM we should use. Really I don't know what to say, it's the first time I see this kind of stuff and just THANKS JB!

Thanks wIcKeD!
Yeah well the review is just saying whats in the book and what I think about the book. I'm not discussing any content. I started it because I thought it might be interesting for me because I have to think about it more.
I'll be updating the review later on if I've done everything for the mother.
Poker
I have been losing for 5 days in a row which sucked BUT things changed yesterday! I cashed out on iPoker yesterday, moved to stars and started grinding there. Spewed a fair bit in the beginning but I turned it around and had my first day in the green again.Coaching
Here is the thing and I'd like to have you opinion. I keep doubting myself…
I cleared $500 bonus and first I wanted to use the money for coaching. I talked to mbml but later on I read in his blog that it's a waste for an nl25 player…
I could use the money as a BR boost and shoot nl50. Or I could boost it with $250, still shoot nl50 w/ 25BI and have $250 for coaching.
Now before you say anything and start telling me I should shoot nl50 keep this in mind.
:spade:I played 102k hands on nl20/25 and run at 1,54bb/100 which is +$340.
:spade:This month alone I'm up $231. So I'm a very small winner on nl20/25…
:spade:For those interested in EV, I'm $230 under AI EV and $EV adjusted is +$458 and my EV WR is 2,05.I really appreciate all inputs!

Work on your game and try to get your NL25 winrate up to 5bb/100 which is very doable because there's loads of fish there.
I would get some coaching if i were you, it should pay for itself in the long run, so it might take a little while longer to get to NL50 but you will be better equipped for it imo
Great blog btw
