Not sure if u're watching the competitive scene, if you do you probably heard of ''SingSing'' , he's kind of a community favorite for some reason , and he started using those expressions during his stream so ppl wanted to be fancy as well , voala DOTO/VOLVO

2 again.

you don't have to buy any ticket, you can watch last years international for free. If you wanna learn , don't watch the pros play , watch how they do it , so i figured , u as a player are more like a support/jungler , a good choice would be Na'Vi Puppey for you , you get into the replay select player perspective and watch it from his point (that guy is a sicko btw) GL

Hey Galvin

Watched the video, everything was very standard glad I could follow it super easy.

I got only 3 questions for you regarding your plays

1) Reason that you folded rather than flatted or 3 bet A10o from BB vs CO 3x open (top left table) ?

2) About combo draw hand on flop with FD + SD
When opponent 3 bets us on that flop, isn't 4 bet shoving playing for stacks always isolating against better hand? Also do we ever expect without reads our opponents on this board to 3 bet bluff us ?

3) Can you talk about your readless BVB opening range as well as sizing? Notices you did different sizing and are folding total trash ...

Appreciate it !

1. Did I? Probably misread the situation, can't concentrate so well while playing and talking at the same time. Would call as a standard line

2. You're probably right that i should flat without dynamics, I'm just a little too used to facing bluff 3bets here so I jammed expecting it to be +EV since I should have some fold equity. And even if I get called I probably have 40% equity vs his range so i don't need too much more FE. Flatting the 3b is probably better

3. Against an unknown at higher limits I'm probably raising 50%. At NL100 I think majority of players don't defend enough so I use my default range as 70%. I don't really want to raise pure trash too often unless I have some reason to believe that he's a little on the tighter side.

Different size is usually an adjustment to the opponent. I raise smaller vs smaller stacks, and I raise smaller vs guys who 3bet a lot but don't feel comfortable calling, and i raise smaller if i'm stealing a really wide range (70%+) but my default is a 3BB open

Poker

Hardly played any poker so far. I'll slowly try to increase my volume in the coming days. Won $700 in 1000 hands.

Video Production
As mentioned previously, I did make 2 videos NL100/200 Zoom. I am thinking of making a few more "fun" videos of me trying out SnGs/FLHE/PLO/8-game etc, and maybe some PS vids with new formats of me playing Zoom HU at NL100 (pretty confident I can exploit those regs well even though I don't play HU that often) or playing Zoom as a MSS (I would use smaller bet sizes and play a pretty similar style to that of a BSS player).

For games maybe I'll make a dota video or two. Still trying to get up a tutorial but my camtasia either crashed, my game goes bad or the video gets interrupted by someone in the house.

Bucket List
I saw this in DeLau's blog. I don't have one at the moment but I know I want to make a ton of money and travel around and have fun my whole life. Maybe I'll make one in the near future.

Coaching
I think I have been getting around 10 requests for coaching in the past two weeks. I'm going to state outright that I'm not going to agree to any profit-sharing deals unless I have a special reason to do so (like I know you in real-life). Some of the interesting requests include a Mainland Chinese asking me to coach him. His english isn't too good and my mandarin isn't too good either so it might end up like last time (3 years ago) where I messed up big time trying to coach this Chinese guy for 2 hours in Mandarin. I also don't recommend requesting for coaching if you are playing NL25 or below.

You can check my coaching thread for the actual graph for 2013 (I did play 20% of the volume in Jan-May but I was close to breakeven, and 80% of the volume was played in July-Dec). First time having a decent looking year-long graph instead of posting some run-good months

I'm not going to oversell myself here, I don't intend to coach too much, just once in a while for fun to mix things up. For this reason, I don't offer package discounts. I have a decent amount of experience in coaching and I feel that I have a good understanding of poker theory. My prices are reasonable for NL100-200 I think, may be a little pricey for NL50 and really expensive for NL25 and below. If you enjoy my pokerstrategy videos or my books and you think I could potentially add value to your game, then you could consider getting coaching from me. I'm not going to claim that I can turn you into a crusher in a short period of time.

Travel

I have mentioned this before in so many posts. Are people interested in reading about this? I have a huge backlog of some of my more interesting trips (latin america, iceland, turkey) and I can blog about some of the fascinating places I have visited.

And since I'm going to be doing a lot of travelling in the next few years, I wonder if I should get a video camera (GoPro maybe?). I have been pretty half-assed with my photography, using only 5 seconds to whip out my phone and snap a shot with my Samsung Galaxy 3.

I've always liked the Stud variants (but I hate Hi/Lo). So I decided to try playing a little 8-game. I'm definitely a huge favourite in NLHE, maybe a slight fav or breakeven in PLO. I don't know about LHE, I'm not experienced at all in the game but I have a rough idea about defending frequencies with my GTO knowledge (some guy told me that you're not supposed to fold more than 10-15% on the Flop), I suck pretty hard at Omaha Hi/Lo and 2-7, and I think I'm decent at Stud Hi/Razz.

Played for around 40min at 2/4 (50c/1 at the no limit variants) and I think I ended up losing a bit. I'll try to play Mixed Games more often as I think they are really fun. Gonna watch some RainManTrail vids to refresh my memory on the other poker variants.

I leave for Taiwan tonight

Poker

Still no volume, 4200 hands in around 7-8 hours, with a 3k profit

Analysis

I contacted Scylla again for my CREV and Flopzilla licenses. I bought both programs in 2011 as suggested by Somnius but never really got down into using these. Today I tried playing around with some Blind Battle Strategy (using my own SB strategy Vs my own BB strategy). The SB strategy was losing more than -0.6BB but I'm not really sure how to calculate the postflop EVs and what discounting factor/multiplier to use.

Super System 2

Hmm I must say that the 2-7 Triple Draw section written by Daniel Negreanu is actually pretty good, given the complete lack of any available strategy on the Internet. Read some of it and since the preflop part of the game plays really similar to Limit Holdem, I would assume that the open-raising and calling and 3-betting frequencies should be somewhat similar. I guess things might be a little different if postflop equities run differently like in Omaha where PF equities run much closer together.

Hey mbml. I know it's a bit late but congrats on the SNE! I love your videos and I missed them last year since you were grinding a lot, but I'm very happy with the new video. _thumbsup: Please make more. :)

Hi mbml,

i am thinking abt buying ur 2nd book. But mainly i am interested in Parts 3 & 4 about Flop and Postflop Play. Can you plz tell me how long are those chapters? u seem to cover quite a few topics in them.
Is it ok to buy the 2nd book w/o buying the 1st book?

GL, prg09

Hey prg09, sorry for the late reply as I was away. It spans from page 35-93 (my book has 101 pages) so it's actually the majority of my book. Yes it's fine to buy the second without the first, the first book is more suitable for players who know the bare minimum and the second is more for players who already know the basics.
