A question for any fellow Pokerstrategy members from downunder.

Are there any poker rooms that are compatible with our timezone?
Apart from Pokerstars a lot of rooms don't have enough traffic at acceptable times of the day.

I currently play on Stars, Party and Titan. I am tracked at Titan but it is pretty much dead at the time of day I want to play. Party also has low traffic.

Any suggestions?

Hey Fellow Aussie,

There tends to be higher numbers of Aussies on PKR.

Hey horVeech

i want to add another network in addition to 888 and stars. i play midstakes FR/SH 400-1k . Some traffic and soft playerpool would be nice

I'd say you probably want to add a good ipoker room to your networks if you haven't already done so.

I can't really comment on the field sorry, since you play a lot higher than I do but the traffic should be pretty good. Something like Titan or Winner poker would be suitable.

Regards,
Luke

Hey Lazza,

I see you edited your reply slightly from the original. I understand why but that's cool.

Thanks anyway.

Hi,
I have account on Pokerstars but I feel there is not enough fish for me , besides I can't collect pokerstrategy points on stars, so I am looking for new room.
1. Which game type you play? NL sometimes zoom

2. Which limit do you play? 2NL-5NL

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up? FR

4. How much do you play? maybe 15h/ weekly

5. How many tables do you want to play? 6 tables

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months? I want to improve my game, earn some money and climb in limits.

I am looking for suggestions. :)

Hey markoz0,

Atm, I would suggest the new PokerHeaven room on Microgaming. If you sign up through our links you'll get a 1000 Euro Welcome bonus (No deposit needed) so you could bink the 10k freeroll next weekend and start grinding that bonus.

Also as a PokerStrategist, you will also get 30% rakeback for life.

If you have any further questions, then don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers

Laz

Hey markoz0,

iPoker should have traffic up to NL10 in FR games. I cannot access the client ATM but will try to do so later and let you know how many tables etc

Best regards,
Gary.

Hey markoz0,

I've included some screenshots to help you make up your mind. These screenshots were taken ad midnight CET.

The first is iPoker 100BBs (BSS). There is nil traffic for BSSers.

All these next ones at iPoker are 30-50BBs (MSSers)

Microgaming's FR all appear to be Max 100BBs

These screenshots were taken with 11k players on iPoker and 4k players on Microgaming.

Hope this helps

Laz

Hey dizelup,

I've included some screenshots to help make up your mind.

The first is taken from Poker770 (iPoker) with around 6.5k online. The red icons denote anonymous tables.

This shot is from 24h poker (Microgaming) with about 5k online. All HU tables at MG are anonymous.

This shot is also from 24h poker and contains HU Blaze (Fast Fold)

Also there is a 10K PokerStrategy Depositors Freeroll on PokerHeaven (MicroGaming) on the 16th February. You can find out full details here

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers

Laz

Thank you PS for the answer about strategy points from partypoker network. 2015 seems quite a long timeframe.
Newertheless asking this question to get you opinion could be useful.

I like partypoker due to their software and whenewer I play there I feel that it is easy to win there. On opposite - when I play on ipoker - I feel that it crushes me instead. Dunno why.

My concern is rakeback and related stuff.
On partypoker I can get maximum 30% but there is no chance I can meke it unless I play high volume NL50 or NL100.
For now best I can get is 15%. quite a low number.

Anything better to offer regards total profits for my volume and player pool?

I play during European working hours.GMT0 9am-3pm.

1. Which game type you play? (No limit? Sit & Go? MTT? PLO, Fixed Limit, Other?) NL10/25 - planning to grow up to NL50 soon and NL100 in near future hopefuly.

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up? 6max

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month) Could be from 500$ to 1000$ rake monthly

5. How many tables do you want to play? speed 4 tables - ~600-1000 hands/h

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months? play, play, study, grow, play . . .

Hey iliaos

Are you averse to playing on ipoker? If not you could try out Winner poker which has a great VIP system and at that level of rake you would get to MVP level from which you could get around 30% rakeback plus ipoker also have a good amount of traffic. If you don't want to play on ipoker then definitely play on stars since they have decent traffic a good VIP system and awesome software.

Regards,
Luke

Hey, well for the next month or two iv found myself in a bit of unique stage in my life.
I have hit a time where i have some investment money and no ties to any job.

I am no pro by any means, but im not completely new so I don't see why i shouldn't trial a poker month or two. I aim to learn and study every day and see how i do. I dont expect any riches or anything as im not very high up the ladder yet, but perhaps a welcome bonus and rakeback system could leave with me a little something at the end of the month?
Im very confused and not sure where the best place would be to try this experiment! Am in stars and pkr so far (pkr not tracked.)

1. Which game type you play? - No Limit, think its likely to be the best idea to suit my plans.
2. Which limit do you play? - Mostly NL10 will always be using bankroll management if i need to go up or down limits
3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up? - Full Ring
4. How much do you play? - Will be playing 30-40 hours a week
5. How many tables do you want to play? - 3-4
6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months? -

To live and learn through the NL limits and see how it goes. I am going to study and play hard for 3 months and see if i can gauge any long term goals after that. Its certainly going to be interesting! I will have about $300 to try some new place to play. Do you think i should go welcome bonus/rake hunting? Or would a fishy pool and VIP system suit my plan better?
I have no idea, sorry for the wall of text but is going to be great to get some advice to suit my situation. Many thanks in advance

Hey Jakkosh,

I've just done a whip around of the major sites and the news looks a little grim. FR cash games are dying in favour of 6-Max. PokerStars is the obvious choice.

At iPoker there are currently 2 FR tables running (both full), There are currently 7k players online with peak periods generally attracting 15-20k so you might get sufficient action in peak periods.

At Microgaming there is currently one player interested in NL10 FR. :(

At both networks, fast fold poker is 6-Max only.

At IPN/Boss there is currently 1 table running (full).

So iPoker is a possibility, although you may struggle to play 3-4 tables for 30-40 hours a week.

Our iPoker rooms include Poker770, William Hill, Gala Poker, Coral Poker, Titan, Bet365, Betfair, Betfred, Winner, PaddyPower, Everest, Ladbrokes and Mansion.

You can check out details for these rooms here.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Regards

Laz

Thanks for the quick reply. Maybe it could work on ipoker as i would be playing in peak times routinely anyways.
Which one do you think has the best bonus/rakeback deals? Do you think that would be worth it to move from the big player volume of Pokerstars? I probably wouldnt get too much from the VIP system at my level.
Im perhaps more confused now than before lol, maybe its even worth it to migrate to 6max?

Or maybe i could keep my pokerstars for strategy points and fun etc and try out some other rooms like full tilt/ Party Poker or something?
Perhaps some more research is needed on my part
Thanks for your time!

Hey Jakkosh,

I am probably not the best person to ask as I'm geographically banned from half the iPoker sites. But I think the general consensus is that William Hill may be the best overall.

Perhaps it may be best i stay on stars after all and just make my deposit there and work through the VIP system.
But i will definitely give william hill a look too! Thanks for your time anyways lazza! :)
See you around :)
