Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: You still lose to AA, TT, 88 which are 9 combos and all are likely in his range.

So now let's find our pot odds. They are about 37%.

Perfect, that means that he has to have about 6 worse combos (in his shove range) for us to profitably call here.

So what can those 6 combos be?

Well, for starters he can have ATs (3 combos) and maybe but rarely some ATo. What else? Probably not much else since AK/AQ calls.

So really, without seeing wider ranges it's not a call.

I mean, I usually call and if I see a better hand which can be likely, Id say cooler and move on.
Its like going AI w KK against a possible nit.

I always thought these spots (as posted) you can't really get away from as it should be +EV over long run in these limits?

So, you think that JcQc/QcKc/JcKc and AQ+ wouldnt be in his shove range?
I didnt show any strenght during this hand and I had quite optimistic expectations, saw worse today from players with similar hand range.
Why you didnt include those hands in your calculations?

So if you expect those draws and AQ+ to shove why are you even debating your call here?

That would make it a super easy call.

However, I think that AQ/AK and those draws will call your raise and not shove.

Villain is tight/nitty, opens MP and then shoves AFTER a turn raise (min raise at that) so generally you won't see a lot of 1p hands or draws in a 3-bet/shove range.

But if you think that they can (because you induced or you have aggro history, or positions) then it's an easy call.

I doubt that It will be profitable to call similar situations vs nitty players in future.

I mean it would have been perfect if he had AK or similar type of hand, but then we wouldnt discuss it here, would we? :f_cool:
