My shot at nl5 beat the crap outta me .

graph.

Actually it was a result of super bad play. I was lucky to have lost only so much.

Volume sucked. nothing more now. :f_cool:

I just saw the previous post. Thought I'll share my thoughts on those hands and see what you think about it.

Hand #1

When you have 200bb Pot control is super important. There's no way I'm shoving the river there. I think calling his raise is the best option there.

Hand #2

There are a few straight draws there so there's absolutely no way you can just call a 10c bet there. Don't be scared of set over set situations cause they happen wayy too rarely to make getting it in a -EV play.

So raise turn and hope to get it in.

If you feel he'll get it in on the flop itself then try to do that.

Hand #3

What worse hand is going to call that raise of yours? At best you'll split the pot. Just call his raise.

Been doing OK in poker. I was staked by 3 of my friends and I ve decided to end the stake after doubling up. They ended up 50% profits. Grinding 10nl on 888 and 5 on stars.

So I added Kaspar, an 18 year poker player from Estonia who goes by the name muumionu on PS, on skype yesterday. He plays NLHE HU upto 3/6 and his main game is 1/2. Kaspar has never played on any other site apart from stars. So he sweated me for a bit and pointed out some spots where I was betting and shouldnt be and some stuff. The interesting part was when I watched him play. Almost everyone on 1/2 who were waiting declined actioned to him! Finally we managed to get a reg who played upto 10/20. Played 2 tables and the reg got owned and he left. Found another who offered action. He too got owned and left. About 4 BIs won I think. All I can say is heads up is waaay more intense than 6max. There is so much of levelling and adjusting going on. Once I'm rolled for like 50 BIs NL50. I am gonna give HU a shot.

P.S. He is about 1k vpps shy of supernova.

Nice! I try to sweat higher stake players as much as possible. Always good to learn from them.

Good to hear about your success man! Keep us updated. :)

Your thoughts on this hand.

Villain was a whale. I wouldnt do this with a reg on a paired board. I assumed he was not capable of folding a J there. I was cursing the river card which was an action killer. On hindsight I was glad that the river was a diamond.

did not feel too motivated to post. Down 5 stacks. Not even unlucky. Pure bad play. So volume kinda went down.

I think I can still do it. Not sure though. Need about 400 SPs to hit platinum. not counting yesterdays Volume. Really confused if I should go for platinum or maintain an okayish WR and risk the possibility of not hitting.

Hows the live scene treating you?

Are you going for the loyalty freeroll at Golden Aces?

It on the 29th. The top 8 get a free 2.5k BI free for the whole of Jan.

I didnt go either. decided to grind online instead. Plus I dont think I should be playing live now. I feel I should spend whatever time I get towards learning. And live offers very little opportunity.

I need about 250more SPs for Platinum and 100 more Vpps for gold in PS.

Easily doable. :]
