I couldnt really put him on a flush here, I mean sure he could have a flush but thats a very small chance of it
If he has a weak flush i think would either raise flop or raise river, makes no sense to raise turn
Yeah sometimes he can have AQ AJ of clubs which might play this way

This line just screamed like a flopped set or 98
88 didnt cross my mind, 88 with 8 of clubs is a hand that calls the flop
If he had overpair which he slowplayed i think it would either raise flop or if he had an over pair with a club he would call flop/turn, theres no value in raising it

88 with 8 of clubs didnt cross my mind but thats also a very strong possibility now that i look back at the hand

He did have 88 with 8 of clubs

Heres a fun hand from the zoom session

The hand is against a friend of mine from the indian skype group

Please tell me what you think about how i shouldve played it and also about his range
I tanked and eventually called putting him on a very narrow range
He didnt raise the flop which makes a small flush very unlikely and i dont see him flatting a lot of weak Axs
He could either have a set and when th turn was a blank he raises it
He couldve flatter a hand like 98s which made 2 pair
When he shoves river i am 100% sure it is not a bluff but hes trying to rep a bluff
I dont see a lot of flushes in his range, a flopped set or 2 pair type hand

Dont cheat, analyse hand first then results :P

Lot of assumptions with very less information I think. Since you haven't posted any stats I'll try to analyze this as a standard hand.

I would have bet the flop a bit higher ~1.70. He's continuing if he wants to even against a bigger bet and you get more value+protection.

I would bet higher on the turn as well for the same reason, I'd bet close to 75% pot.

Since I don't have any reads/stats I'll take that raise on the turn very very seriously. If he had a draw he'd raise the flop itself if he wanted to and you've been aggressively betting into him so its not even a polorized raise in that spot its mostly pure value and no not like 2 pair kinda value. Only question is can you continue with your close to 22% equity that sets have on the turn agaist straights/flushes, flushes in this case. You're pretty close and deep stacked so I'll call the turn to river a boat.

Sucks to be OOP though, If IP and he checked he river I'd check behind, OOP without hitting river I'll just x/f, especially to that over shove.

I don't even care if you win this hand when you call, no way in hell are you doing that in the long run and winning by calling.

To win in the long run you'll need way more hands you beat in his range than you lose to to a river overbet and there just aren't that many hands you beat on the river.

PS: Just saw the spoiler, I guess we were supposed to guess the hand. Since you posted it like this etc. I think you won but in the long run that just aint happening without a read.

I need a read on the opponent that says calls flop raises turn and is full of shit. then i'll play that way. and my note has to explicitly say "full of shit" to properly capture the emotion. else i'm folding

Spoke to the opponent, yeah he was tilting.

Still he will rarely, and trust me RARELY take this line with what he showed up with.

Well the opponent wasnt someone whod take this line with pure bluff or marginal SD hands

I really dont see a flush that often in this spot and i beat all other sets/2 pairs etc. Straight possiblity is close to 0

I think he played it well to except i personally dont like the rive overbet shove
I mean set 9s is the bottom of my calling range there and only bcuz its top set, i am not calling with over pair over there or with bottom set

Actually i was up 5K then got so tilted as couldnt play a hand for almost an hour and a half
I keep getting crap and every hand atleast 3-4 ppl are all in
Eventually shoved my last 4K stack or so in blind saying its my last hand
I didnt want them to think i was nitting out or doing any hit and run thing

15s weren't running a lot today so played 7s and was focusing a lot on ICM
Played pretty well but ran pretty brutal
played 41 games

EV ROI 13.96
ROI - 1.36 :(

The good thing is the EV line is now going up quite well and so are my winnings
January nightmare seems to have done something good atleast, making my lazy ass start working on my game on a regular basis

Nice to see you working on your game. Sometime's when I'm winning I feel like I don't need to work on my game and that I can just keep playing.

I forget that players keep improving and adjusting and that I need to keep reviewing and improving.

Totally agree with you
Need to keep working on our game on a very regular basis

Played 72 games or so today which is decent, had Pratik sweat me, we also spoke a lot about STTs in general along with his dad.
Lucky guy his dad also plays poker and is quite enthusiastic about it

Made a massive 50$ or so, was running pretty horrible, we couldn't stop laughing at the beats but was fun

His game is quite good too, good to have some indian playing STTs

Hand 2
Villian is a mega fish
When he donks like that its more often draws and sometimes mid pair
Dont think though he would donk a K high board with a mid pair

Wow what a call in hand one. Impossible to comment without complete history. I tried thinking about it but I really think he'd play flushes the same way.

Hand 2 - Wp can't bet the river there imo in a tourney.

Hand 1 guy is very agressive
His sharkscope is locked so cant check his stats but plays pretty poor post flop from what ive seen
His push call range is ok
I have seen him barrel multiple streets with weak pairs on dry A/K high boards
Other note i have on him is he does slow play a lot

Check closely on betsizing, it made very little sense to me

Flop bet is 35%
turn bet is 900 into 2200 pot

Pretty brutal day
Kept getting it in good and got hammered
Was down 350 or so at one point

Eventually ended losing 150

Had terrible beats early on

Also a reg started flaming me for reshoving light on him, he called super light and lost and started flaming me

The good part is i put up 88 games today FTW !!!
Hope fully if nothing comes up ill end up withmy first 100 game day

1st hand he had Q6 with 6 of clubs
2nd hand he had Q8hh he rivered a flush

Having a hard time lately at the tables
Played 35 games down 60$
Theres an idiot reg whos moved from Fifty fifty to 9max and his calling range is so stupid but keeps getting uber lucky against me :@
10BB eff stacks at 100-200 BTN jams i rejam with 99 from sb the idiot calls with A9 from Btn and binks

Then at HU he limps with K6 hits 2 pair checks all the way til river and raise/calls me when i rivered a straight and starts flaming pokerstars calling it "Jokerstars" lol
