I've not heard of these before, and cant find any info on them. As soon as you know more info, please post it. That way we can all weigh up the pro's and con's.

Well I've quit fulltilt now so I don't need good luck, but for anyone who wants to know about Matrix SNG's...

Like Marky's post, u buyin to 1 tournament, which you play 4 tables against the same opponents.
The prizepool is divided into 5, 1st 2nd and 3rd places, Eg. for a $10+1 buyin, the prizepool's are 1st= $9, 2nd= $5.40, 3rd =$3.60.

You can win part of the prizepool for each individual table you make ITM in, to win part of the 5th prizepool you need to try to make the most points, by knocking other players out (2pts), surviving longer than your opponents (1pt for each u outlast), and a bonus 2pts if you come 1st in any one of the individual matches.

I played 3 of them last night to see what they were all about, n it seems like a bit of a waste of time if you don't do really well in a couple of them. You might aswell just grind 4x $2.25 sng's rather than 1 $11 buyin.

Its a nice try at something new though, and I think if you win all 4 you get a nice payout. But thats not that easy.

I'm looking at this as something someone would do for fun, as in playing multi table sng's without investing heavily to do so. Also this way as long as you're not a complete donk, you're bankroll wouldn't suffer as badly, but as someone else has mentioned previously, its not at all profitable if you're any decent sng player.

You don't have to be Einstein to realize that you have to play bigger stakes in the matrix format. If you're normally playing a set of four tables, 5.5$ SNG, in the matrix format you're supposed to play a single 22$ SNG to achieve similar profit. You guys are so bad with logic. I get free money from people like you on a daily basis ♦

Yes you have to play at about 4 x your usual buyin. But the nice thing is that you have the same opponents at each table, and when one goes on tilt on one, you know he's going to mess up on the others. -- And also when you see a guy slowplay aces, or trips, then you know to watch out for him.
I think it's alright. I've only played one of them, and it was fun, but not sure if I'd play another - although you never know.

I'm from the French community, and I was looking around other communities to look also for people who play these kind of SnG. Actually, I've started ot specialise a bit in thi new format, and I have had quite a good start at 22 and 33$ SH Matrix tourneys.
I have started a blog (in French though ♦ ) on which you'd be able to see my profit curve for about 45 Matrix tourneys in total, which correspond to about 180 tables played. It's not a very high number, but my average ROI on these 180 tables is around 20%, and the variance is very low compared to my usual results : you can look my sharkscope at PokerStars (Baixinho67) to compare if you want. It contains also a good number of OOM 4.40$ 180 players sngs, but if you have possibility to filter to 5.50 sngs, you'll see a nice break even of about 150 sngs ♦

Concerning the average buy in of the field of these Matrix SnGs, I'd say that it stands somewhere around the middle between the Matrix buy in and 25% of the Matrix buy in, with sometimes tables of 5.50-11$ level to some much more serious tables corresponding more to regular 33$ players.

All in all, I am right now very satisfied with these SnGs and I would advise people who want to reduce their variance to give them a try.
