I think I should just shove the turn here against a reg. I though I can go ch/c to make him shove his draws that he doesn't call a shove with. But by checking we let him freeroll equity which is what we dont want.

Bad play by villain to 3b A8 and call 4bet imo.

Yeah I think shoving would be the best play given that villain has a pretty wide range if he calls your 4bet with a hand like A8o. If he calls with A8o then he has hands like KT/K9s in his range.

And yeah pretty bad play by villain, easy call with A8o, not 3bet.

Hi,

If I should choose check I first have to ask what line I would take on hearts, Q, J, T, 9 river cards. If answer is that I would shove always 100% then I don´t mind your check against aggressive opponent who likes to float.
If answer is check then I would likely shove turn myself and let figure him out which hands he would like to call me down.
Most likely we´re ahead, but board is getting to me a little too drawy to give him free turn card, so my standard line would also shove turn for value or b/c 18$

best regards,

Why is the 4bet so small OOP? He can call IP with just about anything that isn't an offsuit blocker/rag.

He doesn't rep much of anything, but a weak Jx, 8x and a few missed draws after he checks the turn, so overbet shoving the river doesnt make a lot of sense.

As played pot wet flop, pot turn I think.

oh its not an overbet, but i still think flop bet should be bigger, so flop and turn size % can be the same.

It's a potsized shove effectively. 4betting like 9, or 10 is my standard sizing. It's about the SPR and ranges also not just about the odds he gets. I'm not 4bet bluffing that much from sb if I dont have a read that opponent gives up too much. A couple of bluffs ofc. AK dominates his calling range and a smaller sizing induces more 5bet bluffs. So I have no problem to play postflop.

Yes he has mostly a Jx on the river I didn't thought he flats 8x bullshit on the flop because if I cbet there I almost always have a hand with a pretty good equity. With a Jx he mostly calls a river shove because he think we can't have much neither. But yeah would be better to ship the turn.

With regards to the 4bet size.
I don't see how the SPR makes a difference > 100 bb deep? And assuming a decent range 3b range (we have no reason not to) I don't see how that makes a difference either?

When considering calling the 4bet he has the equity and a decent chance to realize it with pretty much any hand in his range with that size. If you have anywhere near a reasonable 4 betting range. The 4bet isn't just small, it's tiny.

Why not flat 8x bullshit on the flop? You bet half pot, he probably has about 30-40% equity, he's IP. I think the only big mistake villain made was 3betting his hand preflop instead of calling it.

If you are 4 betting a very value skewed range from the SB you must be folding to 3 bets quite a lot here way too much. In which case, someone could just pretty much 3bet you all day and fold to every 4bet printing money. If you're not folding too much to 3bets, then calling 4bets with a tonne of hands seems like a good idea to me.

What do the coaches think of the 4bet size?

I wouldn't flat A8 on the flop because I would cbet the flop with hand's I can shove or ch/c mostly on the turn. Playing a 4bet pot you only have usually 2 streets to play which gives the agressor opportunity to bluff w. draws which the passive defender has to be giving up on turn. Which is why I wouldn't be happy to call a bottom pair on this texture on 4bet pot. I mean you may have a decent equity preflop w. A8 or with anytwo card's but you don't get to realize it that often in a 4bet pot as in a singleraised or 3bet pot imo. Ofc. if you are a great handreader and player you possibly can flat A8 here but I dont think I am that good or that most ppl. on 50nl realy are.

Didn't realize your 4bet sizing. I think it's way too small and I don't actually mind villains call. Super good odds IP, that's not what you want to give villain. You don't have enough fold equity with that sizing (assuming that you use same sizing with bluffs).

Preflop: 4bet size might be a little too small. You need to make it around 2.2X or slightly larger if we knew he was the type of guy to call 4bets (as shown in this hand, he calls A8 which is really loose).

Flop: This is a 4bet pot, SPR is extremely low. I would suggest using a smaller bet size on the Flop, like 40% on many textures.

On the other hand the board is really draw heavy and your betting range should be pretty strong and should contain a ton of draws which want to bet F shove T.

Turn: Just shove the Turn. NO good reason to slowplay, you rep a ton of draws and he may sometimes call JX, stuff like JT (pair+straight draw), or AJ.

You also need protection, so many bad cards can come on the River.

A general rule of thumb, if you can go for value right away and board is kind of draw heavy, just go for it right away.
