Btw, just to clear this up, the ranges for BB vs BTN were edited shortly after release of first video.

Please make any comparisons to the ranges contained in the OP since these will always be the most accurate.

Regarding the BB vs BTN ranges this was just a mistake when inputting hands into equilab. Most of those missing hands are cold-calls.

alright, I had actually copied the ranges out of the
1st vid, and did not pay attention to the ranges in the
first post, thanks for the clarification...

Hey, good job weazel!

I spoted some overlaps:

MPvsUTG AKs
COvsUTG AKs
BTNvsUTG AKs
COvsMP AKs, QQ
BTNvsMP AKs, QQ
BBvsMP AKo, AKs, QQ
BBvsCO JJ

Guess this depends on a villain, so it is fine.

Also overlaps:

BBvsBTN 22,76s,97s,T7s,J7s

And I spoted some missing hands in ranges:

BBvsCO A9s,J9s
SBvsBTN 66, K9s

Thanks, great job patrez.

Changes -

The AKs and QQs hands have been added to flatting range except BTN vs MP where they remain in 3betting range. (As was mentioned in the thread whether to 3b or flat these hands should be largely based on our opponents anyway).

BB vs CO JJ is put in our flatting range.

BB vs BTN 22 is in our cold-calling range now and not in our 3b (again it's close and should be a villain dependent situation. In some cases folding may even be best).

J7s can go in our flatting range, while T7s, 97s, and 76s can go in our 3betting range.

BB vs CO. A9s can go in our flatting range, J9s can go in our bluff range. I removed 75s and QTs to compensate.

SB vs BTN K9s and 66's added to our bluff-range. I think I removed some hands to compensate again, but you can check with the updated 3b ranges which I will put in the OP today.

Hey mate, thanks for the videos they're very good and timing was perfect as I was moving from FR to SH when the series started :P
I have 2 questions:
-What stakes are optimal for this strategy? (NL10? NL10 and below?)
-How profitable do you think are regular cash games compared to zoom games?

CO call QQ
Btn 3bets QQ
SB 3bets QQ
BB Call QQ?

What is the reason?

By the way great work!
Will make a PDF with Call and 3bet Ranges the next day!

Hey :)

These are really designed for micro-stakes - i.e anywhere 25nl and below. However they are also pretty close to being decent ranges for higher limits also, we'd just need to make a few tweaks. For example as servermoth pointed out we wouldn't defend something like 44 by cold-calling SB vs MP at higher limits.

If you understand how to develop an exploitative strategy using reads, stats, history, table dynamic, then regular games should allow you to achieve a higher winrate. However, you need more skill to put in an equivalent volume since it's requires playing a decent amount of tables.

In other words both formats have their advantages. It's certainly possible to achieve a higher winrate in regular tables, but zoom is more convenient and easier to put in large volume so is likely able to generate an equivalent hourly rate.

Thanks, well spotted.

This hand is close to being a 3bet from all positions so it's not a big deal if there is a bit of overlap here, in reality you could get away with doing either.

For the sake of having complete charts however, QQ is going to be a flat here from these positions apart from BTN vs MP (should be more doable with position in a spot where we are perceived to have a wide range). The hand charts have been tweaked accordingly.

Thanks =)

Hey guys,

The 3betting ranges are now uploaded into the OP in text format for quick entry into equilab.

A few tweaks have also been made thanks to helpful comments from you guys.

Enjoy :)

@bluedream23,

Great job with the homework. The main reasons your ROR is high despite steep BRM are the high standard deviation and a winrate on the lower side. Rather than increasing BRM working on your game is the number one thing you can do to decrease ROR at this stage :)

@alvisR

Thanks for your helpful comments in the thread and also thanks for making helpful suggestions for the other guys posting in the thread.

@gAsheks/bluedream23

Regarding the HUD. BTN PFR and CO PFR are not the same as BTN and CO steal.BTN steal is essentially the same as raise-first-in from the button while BTN PFR includes 3bets/4bets etc. Having said this imo it would be FAR more useful to remove the BTN and CO steal stats and instead have RFI by positions rather than PFR by position.

@redrawstump

It's ok to use 100k hand sample. But yeah, you need a lot more hands to say for certain what your winrate is, more like 500k hands. The problem is that over such a sample your winrate will invariably change. In other words it's very difficult to know our exact winrate. There is a decent chance your winrate is not 20bb/100 btw, there is probably some good variance in there.

@member001

Thanks for comments, this was very interesting.

@krad85

Thanks for your question, there were some issues with the BB vs BTN range that have been fixed in the OP now. This was primarily just an oversight.

Hi weasel, thanks so much for the input,
I think I spotted still some glitches with the ranges as given in the first post.

BUvsUTG KJs is included both in 3bet and CC range (I gather vs UTG it's rather a bluff 3bet?)

COvsUTG same with KJs

BUvsCO: only some combos of AKo are included and AQs not at all

keep up the good work, I'm in a rather bad downswing at the moment (10stacks down shortly after moving up to NL10 :f_frown:)
and therefore doing lots of theorywork ATM, guzzling up your content :f_p:

How about the isolating ranges? I would love to see some standard ranges.

There are mixed oppinions about the ranges that should be used. One side says to raise really loose, while the other says to raise tight, broadways and only strong hands.

There are a lot of exploitive advices out there, but no standard ranges to go from. Only vague strategy advice. I've seen articles and videos that give AT, KJ, T9s, as exemple hands, which are OBVIOUS raises (they're close to also giving AA and KK as example, who knows maybe I would fold or limp them if they didn't say exactly what to do with these hands - joke). And then it ends with an "etc.".

In my oppinion it should either be the entire range, or give example hands with the bottom isolating range and specifiy that thats what it is.

The exploitative adaptations for me are low in importance right now as I play mostly on annonymous tables.

And I have a hard time setting up standard isolating ranges beause of the conflicting advice/information.

I'm a beginner at online poker ,well not actually a beginner I know how to play the game just not at the "pro" label where I would like to get this year.
Could someone explain to me the term HUD?
Also do I need a special program to use the RFI and cold-calling ranges posted at the beging of this post?
What platform do you reccomend?
Thanks a lot.

The term HUD stands for "Head-up Display". It is a feature of tracking programs like Hold'em Manager 2 and PokerTracker 4 that displays statistics and information about your opponents at the tables, e.g. how often they raise pre-flop, how often they fold to c-bets, etc. It's quite useful.

You can just read the ranges from the first lesson as they are, but it might be more convenient to use the free poker tool Equilab and copy&paste it there to get a nice looking Nash chart instead.
