UTG: $117.90 (117.9 bb)
MP: $15.11 (15.1 bb)
CO: $436.87 (436.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K K
2 folds, CO raises to $2.50, BTN folds, Hero raises to $9, BB folds, CO calls $6.50

Flop: ($19) 9 5 K (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

Turn: ($19) A (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $11, Hero raises to $38, CO calls $27

River: ($95) 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $88, CO raises to $176, Hero calls $57.80 and is all-in

Why don't you cbet this nice flop, where he DOES have a LOT to call with ? And then plan to x/r some boards, and x/c some ?

I actually posted this hand for evaluation to ask the coaches for the max ev way to play the hand

I will copy paste here in case you dont have access

To answer your Q, main reason to check the flop is because the flop is so dry + we block most of his Kx hands + his range should be very wide for calling my 3b preflop. Thus if I bet I expect a ton of folds whilst if I check I get one bet from his air hands.

Spoiler

Villain has 26% CO range. 33% fold to 3bet and 7% 4b. only 600 hands

What is the max ev gameplan for this hand?

1) bet three streets
2) bet flop, xr turn bet river
3)x flop, xr turn, xr river
4) the line I took

My rarional is that his range for calling my 3bet will be pretty wide. So if I check the flop I will get a bet from his air hands, but I am not sure if should be x/r or x/c. I think I would x/r

On the turn when the A comes, I check to induce a bet and get more value from his Ax hands and draws as he would be calling at least one time.

OTR I opted to bet pot to get calls from his Ax hands or 9x if he has any.

If the river was a brick like a 2, is it more profitable to xr again as FD and any gutshot missed?

Well I'd think that people @NL100 would really FLOAT much more in these spots, rather than folding a lot, but ok, of course it makes sense what you said, thanks ! :)

Funny day today :)

I woke up at 5pm with a terrible headache. Played zoom at 9pm for like 2hrs and played the worst poker I played the whole year partly due to the headache that was killing me. Took a few painkillers and decided to play mtts just to chill

Got a few deep runs. I was doing really well in the $11r and made the final table with a good stack, got unlucky in two big pots and busted out at 5th. I was very confident in winning the whole thing and had a big edge over most of the players at the FT but the poker gods decided otherwise. Great day regardless though!
