I know i havn't been posting too muhc but i have been pretty busy with both working on my game and also RL stuff lately. So last month was a bit of a letdown it looked like i was going to have a winning month but the last 10k hands or so ruined that :P

Hopefully i will be crushing this month and ill be running as hot as i have been so far(Graph below)

Anyways, since its getting hotter here in sweden and all trees are blooming my allergies are acting up so i basically am alot more tired than usual so its affecting my concentration a bit. hopefully it will get better in a week or so!

It feels like ages ago I wrote in this blog!
...maybe because it was. So for the past 2 years I havent been playing poker all that much, playing some here and there but this christmas the urge to play hit me again so I deposited 100$ on Pokerstars and started griding it out there.

Currently I reside at the NL25zoom tables on pokerstars and my goal is to work on my game and especially become more consistent in my game. That is getting a more stable mental game, and playing a more solid game overall. At the moment I have a goal to play 20 hours of zoom without looking at any results so I wont post any graphs until that is done, 5 hrs in and i think it gives me good distance from being too results oriented and also decreases my spewing/ trying to get even since I have no f***ing clue if I've won or lost since i rathole at 150bb deep :f_cool:
Goal for the summer is to keep grinding and putting in constant volume, and hopefully move up to NL50 some time soon. I will keep you updated with graphs and hands and hopefully I can keep writing here.

So i thought Id post 2 hands where I made a thin value bet OTR and faced a cr. In both instances my thought process was pretty good I think. So basically same situation came up twice in two sessions.

My though process was that it made little sense in either hand to check raise a really strong hand vs me. I would check back every medium hand (which i have alot of by potcontrolling at some point in the hand) So basically if villain had a strong hand i think he would probably not just check to me, if he were to check to me then villain had to assume that I turn my made hands into bluffs or bet with air OTR very frequently to cr profitably here. So i think his range is mostly air here.

Hand 1:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
SB ($26.55)
BB ($25)
UTG ($31.14)
UTG+1 ($25)

Hero ($25)

Dealt to Hero 5♦ 5♣

fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.70, fold, Hero calls $0.70, fold, BB calls $0.45

FLOP ($2.20) 8♠ 2♠ 7♥

BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks

TURN ($2.20) 8♠ 2♠ 7♥ 5♥

RIVER ($5.14) 8♠ 2♠ 7♥ 5♥ Q♠

BB checks, Hero bets $2.10, BB raises to $8.47, Hero calls $6.37

Hero shows 5♦ 5♣
(Pre 82%, Flop 87.2%, Turn 100.0%)

BB shows 3♣ 3♠
(Pre 18%, Flop 12.8%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero wins $21.09

Hand 2:

#1 I wouldn't say the value bet OTR w a set of 5's thin at all, pretty standard imo.

# I think some of the time he could be x/r a flush hoping you rivered the 4 card straight or will bluff like you have it, but all in all it does seem bluffy since mostly he'll just bet it himself.

Well with valubetting thin i was mainly referring to the 2nd hand. Wrote the post to sloppy o guess :) i still think its a mistake by him to check with a flush here even tho that doesnt mean he wouldn't.

Uhhg, had two sessions today which felt like i played horribly right through. Probably wasted 1-2 BI in just shit situations. I dont know really what damage the sessions did since i dont check my results, I have my gf checking my results every 3k hands or so so im not under 20BI in my br and so far i havent lost that much atleast.

So i couldnt keep my 20 hour goal of not checking, i think its pretty hard given It's difficult to kno where im at in my game etc. So I looked it up after 12h. 13714 hands played up 898bb. Here is the graph!

Dropped drastically in the end and that was today. So a shitty day can make all the difference. Its a Meh sample obv but im happy with my results and i think ill keep avoiding checking my results.

Had a session today with w34z3l and had a session review revealing some pretty big leaks in my game, and one in particular bleeding from the blinds by not really defending enough. Hopefully correcting this can improve my winrate quite a bit.

Until the end of the semester I plan on having this as my main topic to improve. I believe I'ts best to get this concept down really well before I proceed with other topics.

I will start off by reviewing my calling/3 betting ranges from the blinds and also look into post flop plays when calling oop. Working on when to cr, when to cc, when to just shut down etc.

Hopefully by doing this I can turn this...

...into something prettier :f_cool:

That's a lot of ev dollars just that you can't really spend it _biggrin:

I recall the number for fold to 3bet is around 65%. That might help.

Lately I have been thinking alot about my preflop ranges both calling and raising first in and I have realized I have opened way too many offsuit hands and way to few suited hands.

I think I have been too stubborn thinking that I had my preflop game all settled since way back but after reading up on it and checking my own ranges I think I have played pretty poorly preflop.

So my game has gone from a 19/15 thingy to 22/17 over the last 5k hands without really experiencing much tougher situations postflop. So atm I'm very hopeful this could have a good impact on my game and benefit me alot. :)

Lesson learned from this: It is worth revisiting/rethinking old concepts once in a while and its important not to let pride play too much of a role in deciding what conepts needs to be studied.

PLayesd 500 hands on a swedish site today and picked up 450SEK which is around 65 bucks or so which is a nice boost to my br. Picked up 200bb getting it in AA v KK which was a nice thing. I think there is alot of value to be had on the swedish site however i think there is better possibility to get better playing on pokerstars. Also the games arent always running on the swedish site :/

Bahaha I laughed out loud at showdown. I decided to call pre getting a decent price. I can obv hit my set and I can probably take the pot down on suiting boards. I thought villain can have a tonne of AK,AQ, KQs hands here in position so I decided to put in a cr since i can rep alot sets and i can rep some fd and str8 draws. I think my flop sizing was abit off, it should have been bigger like 7-8. When he calls i immediatly shut down, anything that called flop will call again OTT. The result as is follows:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager

SB ($25)
BB ($38.16)
UTG ($21.74)
UTG+1 ($25.15)

Dealt to Hero 4♥ 4♣

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.62, BTN raises to $1.75, fold, fold, Hero calls $1.13

FLOP ($3.85) 7♦ T♦ 3♣

Hero checks, BTN bets $2.82, Hero raises to $6, BTN calls $3.18

TURN ($15.85) 7♦ T♦ 3♣ 9♠

Hero checks, BTN checks

RIVER ($15.85) 7♦ T♦ 3♣ 9♠ 8♥

Hero checks, BTN checks

BTN shows A♦ K♥
(Pre 47%, Flop 30.0%, Turn 13.6%)

Hahaha for the first time ever I have exceeded my allowed number of hands posted in the hand evaluation forum. I guess it somehow shows that I'm more dedicated than ever to improve

"Unfortunately you have reached the monthly limit of hands you can post in the professional hand evaluation service board. Please try again next month"
