played alot nl5 speed, and had a numbers of hands where we 5-6 beting preflop and geting it allin me with aa and those guys q3 48... if intresting means playing against someone that is simply really good and outplaying you i think you will not find those hands at those limits..
Here is a mini update - I am currently at work and it is quiet... so why not?!
General Overview
I have played a lot of hands of poker (for me at least), in the last few weeks, mainly due to my football season being over, and a nice few bank holidays giving me that little extra time.
Stakes wise, it has been mostly NL5, with a few shots at NL10 when there was sufficient traffic on iPoker.
I've noticed that because the pool is much smaller @ NL10 than 20 or 5, it seems to be mostly TAG regs, who can pose a few problems, but I need to play it to make decent progress towards my first deposit bonus!
Note Caddy
I actually purchased note caddy a couple of weeks ago, and spent a bit of time at the weekend delving in to setting up badges etc... at the moment I am being a bit experimental, but I am trying to highlight regs with tendencies such as giving up in 3b pots on the flop so that I can exploit them better.
I also think I need to pay a bit more attention to the notes it generates for me when playing pots, and hopefully I can play more opponent specific strategies, rather than just my cards and the board - this is already something I worked on before notecaddy, but if I have the tools to help me improve, I need to use them to the optimum level
My Game
I have done a little bit of looking at my game in the last few days, and I think I am losing too much from non-SD hands. Obviously at these limits, most people will be losing on the red-line, but I want to try to spew less by thinking more about my double barrel bluffs and c-betting ranges. As part of this I am also trying to put more effort in to coming up with a plan for the hand straight from the flop:
- Am I PFR?
- Am I IP?
- Am I likely to take the pot down with a c-bet?
- Am I going to see many cards that will give me a good opportunity to barrel again on the turn (i.e. what cards can hit the board that either give me improved flop equity, or bring up backdoor draws to allow me to fire again?
- Am I up against a TAG or Fish?
- Am I able to float because opponent often gives up on turn?
If I can pay more attention to my notecaddy readings, I think I can improve my hand planning by answering the above questions, and thus reduce my red line losses. However I think it is always important to remember that we need to be taking to most +EV line in any situation. We don't want to over-focus on the red line losses, and lose out on showdown value. This also means not being afraid to take red-line losses, when I know I am beat, I need to fold and take that non-SD hit, rather than call down and lose more at showdown.
Final Note
I think I will post a results round up this weekend, but I am also going to cover some non-poker related topics that I am interested in, and I think others could benefit from reading about
So I didn't update at the weekend but I will now!
BRM
So I am currently following pretty damn aggro BRM (probably egged on by the fact my ipoker account is in USD, but the zoom tables are EUR)
I started with a USD $100 deposit in my Titan poker account, which was then boosted up by $10 free from PS.com, and $20 from Titan themselves. Nothing like an immediate 30% ROI ♠_biggrin:
I decided to start with EUR NL5 which with 20BI BRM would require around $140 in my account, butttt I was close enough, so decided to go for it. I mean, if you are going to follow aggro BRM, might as well do it to get out of the micros right?!
I moved up to EUR NL10 with roughly 16 BIs, but due to low traffic at ipoker it was more a mix of NL5 and NL10. Initially NL10 wasn't going so well due to being actually quite reg infested with the small player pool, but I've stuck with it an optimised my game slightly and I have been getting the hang of it more.
Game
I am currently working on Cbetting less (I used to be around 90%), and bluffing a bit less (semi-bluffs excluded). The main way I have been doing this is by throwing in delayed Cbets when IP on wet boards, clearly if the opponent checks twice, they have no interest in the board even if it is wet, so with that extra info, my delayed cbet will have a much higher success rate, and stop me from getting raised off of wet boards on the flop.
I've also started trying to work out the weak points of the NL10 regs as they seem to be mostly who I am up against. I think my favourite so far is the one who will 3bet almost every hand they enter, but when I adjusted and started 4betting light has folded to every single 4bet, not one shove back at me! This is from about 50 or 60 4bets! I will continue to do it until they adjust, and also fold to any shoves unless I have AA or KK if they are still extremely rare!

Weekly Update:
So I have been reading quite a lot of poker material lately, and have decided to try to give my poker playing a bit more structure (courtesy of "Treat Your Poker Like A Business" from Dusty)
I think for now my aim will be to average 90 minutes of 3 tabling zoom per day, which should give me around 700 hands per day. This should give me around 5k hands per week. Of course if I can play more, I will! I know 5k hands a week will seem damn low to a lot of you, but I don't have much more free time for it ♠_mad:
I am also going to post goals each week (I forgot last week, but I did have mental notes of what they were)
Goals for last week
1. 90 Mins per day played? [PASS]
I have actually average almost exactly 90 mins per day even though I didn't play wednesday or thursday due to work.
2. Gym 4 mornings of the work week [FAIL]
I only managed 3 days because I slacked off on Friday morning
3. Watch Weazel's vids 3 & 4 [PASS]
I am not really going to include a study time category, because I am reading poker books on my commute every day to make that time more productive, so it's not exactly a hard goal to meet. However videos I can't really watch, so I will try to build them in to my goals.
Goals for this week
90 Mins per day played
Gym 4 mornings of the work week
Watch video on how to play pockets 9s & Weazel's next vid if released this week
I seem to struggle with these stronger PPs that are often best pre flop, but nearly always face overcars, so I think watching this video will help my game
