@whentheclouds
Exactly!! :)

@SirPaulius
GL to you as well!

So guys,

Time again for another short update for 3 grind days period. Hit the fast poker tables because of the huge amount of obligations/travels/World Cup that I (will) have this month I wanna still put a decent volume in which most likely isn't really possible with my standard 6 normal tables. Also it allows me to be a bit more flexible.

Anyway performance wise it was OK-ish and I'm generally pleased although it was really swingy in general. Have to adjust a little bit better in this games.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 58 884.49$(LAST UPDATE) + 561.04$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 59 445.53$/ 100 000$

GL for the Sunday lotteries! :)

Hey,

very nice blog. I like your determination, and your idea of poker. I wonder, how did you pair up with one of the top coaches. I'm sorry if you answered already, but I read the first 3 pages and the last one.

I am currently trying to do what you did, but I take w34z3l's micro series instead. Would you recommend buying the book, or do you think I rather focus on w34z3l's series and focus on earning enough for a coaching.

Thanks for the inspiration, stories like yours do help me get through the day, playing long sessions, many days a week. :)

Best regards,

KingKas

@KingKas
TX mate for the compliments! That's always nice to hear this kind of stories. :)
I paired with Gordon through PS series ''Champions Stand Up One More Time Then The Rest''. In the last video of the series he took application and so I applied and got selected.
About your second question, well I haven't looked at the w34z3l's micro series so I can't say anything about it. What I know(from his coaching thread), he seems to understand the micros very good,students seems to be happy and what I like is that he preaches a low variance style(IMO very important because a lot of people don't like variance but like to play high variance plays). Besides that I can't say more.

Hey guys,

So 4 days have passed and my grind continued. Besides today when I hit stop loss everything else seemed fine. Today I got crushed in like 30min so badly by variance that it was kind of incredible. Although I have to blame myself for 2 very very stupid C downs. But yeah, variance can go both ways and I don't really have a problem with it since yesterday I was running pretty hot so in some sort of way it has to even out.

Anyway here are the results:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 59 445.53$(LAST UPDATE) + 951.89$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 60 387.42$/ 100 000$

Tomorrow is WC time so time for cheering and some beer. Cya! :)

hey man

very nice result _cool: your blog is great :)

I want to ask you :

-are you back to grind speed poker at ipoker ? it looks like it is nl100 right ?

-if yes ,how do you feel about the player pool at speed nl100 ipoker..I heard it is so reggish and no fish there ,so it so hard to beat, is that right ?

-I see your red line is going very nice ... can I ask you what is your cbet percentage flop/turn/river ?

thanks and GL in your challenge :)

TX! My CB frequencies are:
Flop: 68%
Turn: 60%
River: 54%

So guys,

Thursdays had to be a free day since Croatian opened the WC so the whole day it was impossible to grind with all this noise in front of my flat. And yeah after the match I wasn't really in the mood to play but rather enjoyed a nice night out.

Friday and Saturday were decent days at the tables. Performance wise ti was pretty solid although I have to say that the traffic IMO is going slightly down with the WC taking place.

The reason why I won't play today is because I feel like I have a ton of off table work to finish before I hit tomorrow a 1 week vacation(don't like the idea of going on vacation without cleaning the work left). Gonna meet up with Gordon and all his students mid next week but I have to leave a bit sooner since I will have other obligations which won't allow me to play at the begging of next week.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 60 387.42$(LAST UPDATE) + 608.77$(WINNINGS 2 DAYS) = 60 996.19$/ 100 000$

Anyway I will be back with an update in about 10 days. Till then GL! :)

So guys,

After a longer period without updates it's time to write something so probably this might be a longer post.
Anyway, last week I didn't play at all. I was in Prague meeting up with Gordon, ilidek, JurassicDaniel and Rovar. It was a really nice time and in general it was a good experience meeting up with people with whom you work consistently but never got the chance to actually meet them in person. The activities like paintball and karting just made to whole adventure even better. I already looking forward to the next one.

Now this week I kinda had a bit more busy schedule since tomorrow I have to leave again to catch up with my sisters birthday and still wanted to put 40h of poker for the week. Also there is the WC that also influence a bit my grind schedule.
It was an extremely swingy week where in between I had a major downer which kinda also influenced my play but was able to overcome it in the end. One of the positive things about putting whole is that your realize how swings come and go. You kinda ''feel'' variance.

Also got ton of ideas how to improve my game. In general I have got a bit too spewy and cally in general and my aggression was just unreasonable. I have to fix this ASAP because otherwise I don't wanna turn into a spew monkey. Here is what I got for the 5 playing days:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 60 996.19$(LAST UPDATE) + 608.79$(WINNINGS 5 DAYS) = 61 604.98$/ 100 000$

That's it for this week. Cya guys in the next one! :)

@ilidek
Well, I made a trial with the low carb diet(4 days) but then again I was over the weekend away(mini holiday/birthday) so was enjoying normal food. Going back to it as soon as my ''chef the cucine'' comes back. Although feel a bit lost in terms of variety in my meals. Any suggestions?

Ola Amigos,

After an enjoyable Saturday - Monday holiday I'm back on the tables. Although I have to be honest and say that the World Cup has a huge influence on my grinding schedule so the next 3 days I will put a little bit less volume.
It would mostly be a standard update if there wouldn't be for today. I hit the NL1k and NL600 tables. Of course I didn't battle regs but still I saw some nice NL600 tables and joined.

But the more interesting part was the NL1k table because it was HU. Basically I'm lurking around the lobbies for good games and so I kind went to see what's happening on NL1k just for fun. Generally following who is playing or any marked fish in the game but accidentally as turned off my filters and so HU tables came out as well and after taking a look at names I see GREEN(my color coding for fish). He is sitting like a reg there waiting for action with his 40BB stack . I simply couldn't believe that nobody wants him ?(. Went on Skype looking for ilidek to tell him but he is already offline on Skype.
Then I said ''F**K I won't let him go away. I just hope Gordon isn't going to kill me since I'm again moving up in stakes without agreement. :P '. And so I sit him down, played a couple of hands against him and then he was busto although to be fair I was running good. I even had notes about his BvsMCB behavior.
I was so excited when I played him that I sit out on all others just to focus. I really felt the adrenaline when you go AI like a fish. I sort of even cheered because on my regular stakes I just see ''Oh I lost!'' without too many emotions. Not saying that it's bad but you miss the excitement that brought you into the game. :)

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 61 604.98$(LAST UPDATE) + 3 466.89$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 65 071.87$/ 100 000$

June Report

This is actually fairly quick and easy. Worst month poker wise best month life wise. I mean 3,5k$ isn't a too bad result but compered to the previous months it's of course kind of humble. The irony is that I might not have improved that much poker wise but life wise I did and in general had an extremely pleasant time off the felts. So definitely don't mind such switches from time to time.

Anyway, that's it for today. Next updated probably on Sunday/Monday. Take care and GL! :)

Hey guys,

I hoped this update to cover 3 days but in the end I had to be happy to even be able to update about 2 days. But let's start.

Well once again variance screwed up my plans. I grind 14h in order to make the 48h weekly mark so I could have a much more relaxed weekend grind combined with good football matches but before Germany - France started I hit stop loss. Hmm...felt kind of dumb but you know I enjoyed the evening with the matches and drinks but the next morning, goodbye grinding plan. Got sick and well, spent Saturday in bed. Today it wasn't much better(had to cancel a coaching session) but I kind of forced myself to put at least 6h in. Played very good and managed to comeback from a negative variance streak in the end.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 65 071.87$(LAST UPDATE) + 347.33$(WINNINGS 2 DAYS) = 65 419.2$/ 100 000$

It's always something that screws up my plans. So since I plan on playing in the next 10 days straight I hope I will get a chance to put some decent volume in. TTYA mid next week! :)

Hey guys,

Not a happy update. Because today I hit semi stop loss(stopped because I played bad in the end) and the win from the other days can't really cover for that. Since lately it's getting extremely swingy for me and mostly it starts with me winning a lot in short period of time and the in a couple of mostly coolers losing it back. But besides that not much to add. I hope I will be able to turn things around. Played a bit of NL1k as well but didn't win there anything and was like 8BB down there.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 65 419.2$(LAST UPDATE) - 691.39$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 64 727.81$/ 100 000$

Next update on the end of the week.Cya!

So guys,

Today I'll take probably some semi holiday today by enjoying the WC final + doing some leftovers from off table work. Definitely looking forward to this.

About the last 3 playing days, I could summarize it in 2 words : on upswing.
Performance it was also OK but people simply always have the bottom of their C range, my bluffcatchers are extremely successful, my nutted hands get payed out and on top of that I found some good NL1k table. All together makes it a very good update and this is how it looks like with pictures and numbers:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 64 727.81$(LAST UPDATE) + 5 236.61$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 69 964.42$/ 100 000$

Also I will get somewhere this month as well some RB that I hope will push the overall amount over 70k$.
Till mid next week guys! GL! :)

I've been following your blog long time ago and results are really impressive. Congrats for reaching 70k$ winning.

For curiosity, do you still grinding on ipoker ? if not which network offers the softest field for NL100 and below and the best RB (regular and fast tables) ?

Gl on the tables

@highyeah
TX mate! Well it's hard to say since I won't want to break PS rules by pointing out a network that been part of the affiliate business of PS and so I don't know what I'm allowed to say and what not.

This question of yours I got a lot. The fact is that each one of us it's own preferences/priorities. For example iPoker has IMO the toughest field on low/micro stakes because of RB(although they pay more and focus on wrong things), PS has great software, good traffic, healthy competition + solid RB(given the low rake) while Party has juicy table, weaker competition but almost no RB. Now it's everything up to you to put on paper(priorities, WR, rake, volume, RB %) and see what's more profitable for you. I did that for myself and you can find in some of my youtube vids a basic example of SN vs iPoker RB(I analyzed what a NL25 4bb/100 winner if he considers switching to iPoker what would be the WR that he would need to achieve to still win the same amount of money. It's pretty generalized but can give you an overview/idea how things like that can be done.). If you are someone who takes poker seriously you should probably be looking for this but if you are playing for competition, fun, hobby then no need.

Hey guys,

Again time to summarize 3 playing days. Although it's currently the period of the year where I don't really enjoying playing poker that much it seems for now to be extremely going good for me. I run good but I table select extremely well. On some tables I was the only reg playing 3 fishes and 2 semi fishes. And I notice it's always in the same time period. Although I get tired by that time I still force to stay and play and there is nothing better then getting rewarded for pain especially in such a beneficial way.
Also played a bit of reg NL200 tables will steadily add them step by step since I want someday to be able to play them instead of dropping down in limits when the action is not that juicy.
Now 3 more playing days for me and then I'm off on to a smaller vacation. But before that here are my results for the last 3 grinding days:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 69 964.42$(LAST UPDATE) + 8 403.6$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 78 368.02$/ 100 000$

Next update by the end of the week. Cya! :)

TX mate! Signature is extremely outdated

So guys,

Interesting 3 grinding days before I hit Part 1 of my holidays. Friday and Tuesday were another 2 sick days where everything was going so smoothly that it was incredible. My whole run can be illustrated with this 1 hand when yesterday I had coaching with Gordon and we joined a fresh NL600 tables right next to the fish. First hand in the BB AK for me, he opens SB, I 3B and he 4B Shoves and ofc I C. AK holds vs AQ and the fish is busted. I mean this is currently such a sick run(maybe it was) that I can even understand. The only limit where it didn't went good was NL1k but I didn't lost much. Up to today it felt like whatever I do it's going anyway to be fine and I will somehow have a good day.

But today I could feel the switch. Absolutely completely different scenario and I almost hit stop loss. But yeah, with such a good run it's somehow expected at some point to start running worse. Variance is such a sick thing.
Anyway, here is how this 3 days look a like:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 78 368.02$(LAST UPDATE) + 6 722.07$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 85 090.09$/ 100 000$

I expect (I'm working on) by the end of the month to get somewhere around 8k$ RB. But before that I will take 4-5 days off holidays and then be back to finish the month in the best possible way(at least I hope so :) ).

Besides this facts about the challenge I had a very pleasant conversation with Gordon about my future, where and what I want, next steps to take etc. Made me thinking and with this thoughts I will leave for holiday.

Cya guys by the end of next week! :)

Hey everyone,

It's been a while. Been on Part 1 of my vacation and tomorrow I'll rest for another for another 3 days. But that doesn't mean that I was short on work. I put 4 days and almost 40h just to not fall behind dramatically this week.

Anyway since I came from holiday things went kind of down. Which was to be expect because I can't run hot forever. Now it's time for ''So,so sick!'' and all this nice sentences that are coming out when you run bad . Today it was specially painful since I dropped 1,5BI at NL1k :(. But at least the grind itself payed out and I got RB which will serve in this update as makeup for the loses.

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 85 090.09$(LAST UPDATE) - 3 173.99$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) + 8 038.4$(RAKEBACK) = 89 946.5$/ 100 000$

July Report

Well, I hit again a record month. I got 20k$ in winnigs + 8k$ RB for an 28k$ month. Once again a very nice gift from variance which can be see below from the graph. Money wise I won't complain but game wise it's a BE month(I didn't really improve) because I was mostly focusing on volume which I'm happy with giving that there was WC + vacation. But at least each month something interesting.

The goal for next month is obviously finishing the challenge. I would love to take maybe a couple of days to tweek my blind, BN play, preflop etc. so improving will probably come second in August if needed.

Anyway, that's it for today. Next update somewhere in August! GL! :)

@partyace7
TX mate!

So guys,

It's time for an update. Vacation has been awesome and I came back so refreshed. Monday was already grind day and so I was back into action. But there is was 1 thing that I hate about summer. I want to hang out more since a lot more activities going on, more foreign friends, family stop by and all this takes so much time that all of a sudden I'm forced to play 100h in 10 days in order for this month to stay a normal month. One of the things that I hate is falling back in terms of hours/volume because of the freedom poker gives. But lucky I put yesterday a 15h session that allows me to still enjoy a very nice evening with cooking/drinking cocktails etc.

On the table it was generally pretty interesting. Higher stakes running hot while lower stakes running shit. Luckily the higher stakes overcame the bad lower stakes run so the overall results for the last 3 grinding days looks like this:

TOTAL CHALLENGE: 89 946.5$(LAST UPDATE) + 6 772.43$(WINNINGS 3 DAYS) = 96 718.93$/ 100 000$

So that's it for this update. Off to enjoy a pleasant evening. GL!
