Woke up with a good mood and I am ready to play poker today
So last night/morning ended losing 4 buyins, I felt like my worse decision was to start up the session firing 8 regular tables ~ Table selection takes time and during that time I'm not focused on the tables etc.. then I was trying my best to focus and concentrate on making decisions, marking the fishes, I had plenty of bad players on the tables but I just couldn't make money out of them, I didn't get good cards and flops so I tried to compensate with some bluff plays and it costed me money.
I figured I'd reduce tables, then I was like no I'm going zoom now.
Played 3 tables of zoom and lost another 2 buyins, but it was stuff like last hand posted, AA <88, KK< AA, calling 2 barrel with JJ and folding to river blank card barrel.
Anyway today, I started with 2 tables of zoom, I wanted to play more but I made myself not to, yesterday I had sweat session with 2 guys and one of them strongly advised me not to play more than 3 tables, 2 is fine, and to play 4 regular tables, 6 is max !
So I did ! I just had 50minutes session with 2 tables of zoom, and 5bi up!
I wouldn't ever play like this if I had 4 tables up, I'd fold 100% !

H2; a donkey-monkey aggro guy with following stats: 28/20 with 17% 3bet, and he resteals BB.vSB 3/4 times, doesn't fold to 4bets 0 out of 4.
I guess I could 4bet/shove him, decided to play postflop and to x/R cuz he's probably going to cbet almost any hand he 3bets with.

Poker, Psychology exam ~ The connection
Beside that, I have an exam in psychology this Sunday and I'm not well-prepared ~ though, some of the material is interesting. I was just reading about facial expressions and their recognition. About the parts in our brain that are responsible of reading facial expressions, emotions, understanding behaviors, humor etc.. and the other part in our brain that is leaning more to the objective side, the scientific if you will. So the right side functions better in recognizing expressions, the interesting thing is that when something is viewed on the left side - our right eye sees it 'first' and is processed by the right hemisphere and vice versa.
Wonder if there is any difference when we play poker ~ do we process more objectively the action occurs on the right side of the display and more emotionally on the left side ? This is funny to think about, although I think it's not as valid mainly because it's not about understanding behaviors/ego/expressions, it's more mathematical/technical/scientific activity.
Another interesting subject is Cognitive Evaluations, How our thoughts driven by our emotional drifting and how emotional drift can be affected by physiological effects such as; sweaty, blood pressure etc..
One important thing is awareness; If one is not aware of the physiological process that is going in his body, he might think that he feels that way because of whatever, example; "I'm angry because I get AA and everybody folds", "I freaking won a buy-in ! hurray!"
Often the physiological effects-affects the power-level of our emotions, often can cause TILT~because it's so easy to direct your state to the nearest 'visible' action.
If you had been aware of the physiological effects, it would not affect you the same because knowledge/awareness/sense of control mitigates this.
~ How we understand/perceive things when we play is crucial (cognitive evaluations):
There is a theory that the way we think about things affects how we feel about them.
Example1; (You drive a car); A child with a ball jumps on the road --> You think he's rude and not disciplined --> You feel angry
Example2; Same situation with the child, this time you know the child is Mentally Retarded (intellectual disability) --> You feel pity, compassion.
See, there is a lot to how we evaluate and think about stuff.
Another thing, if something upsets you and makes you feel angry, you'll be more attached to situations/evens/occasions that have this context.
i.e; if you are angry or sad, you'll pay more attention to stuff with the same context (angry or sad), if you are happy you'll pay less attention to that.
YOU RECEIVE THINGS THAT FIT YOUR CURRENT MOOD
I think the last subjects are super related to the mental poker game, and it made studying to the exam even more interesting !!!
That's all for now,
Sneakyhand.
