Overview
I started out with $20 built a roll playing a variety of STT, MTT and cash games, then started grinding Zoom, played 125k hands, ended break even (0.19bb/100). Took a break for a few days, watched a few videos, chilled out finished Weasels 10-part series, read a lot of psychology articles and re-read Mental Game. Before this I was just playing awful in cash games, there is no way for me to sugar coat it - All of my roll after an initial 1,000bb upswing at NL5 came from MTT cashes and FPP conversions going very right on the hyper STT's. If it hadn't of been for that I'd be stuck $200 (or - 5,000bb). That was before my Zoom grind but still, as you can tell not playing well at all.
I've now decided Zoom is not the right format to apply my best game. I have now decided to quit cramming in volume, and instead work on the standard 6-max tables to improve my hand reading abilities and work on my post-flop game, most prominently turn play. I have identified myself becoming lost in many pots during Zoom on the turn (especially OOP in 3-bet pots), although just playing the first few STT's, MTT's and Cash hands today I already feel an improvement in that area, as well feeling a lot more comfortable with c-betting after yet another watch of Nikachu's c-betting video (I always dig it up when I've been away a while it always helps).
