Double your Skill with double2 - Reviewing hands where you steal loose and face post flop decision

Can't beat low stakes? This is a coaching for you, we'll be talking about diferent topics that most regulars are approaching sub-optimally. On this week coaching we'll be reviewing hands that you guys post here, where you tried a steal pre flop (preferably with a weak hand) and face a post flop decision (even if it is as simple as a cbet).

Information

Target group: all micro and low stakes NL players
Time: Thursday 11th of December, 19:30 CET

Can you include the link to the video coaching in this thread for tomorrow? I can't connect to the chat client from the library.

I would like you to post hands where you make a steal (preferably with a weak hand) and we face a post flop decision (should I bluff cbet? should cbh and call turn with my weak SD value?)

Not sure if cbet is the best because bb seems tight and his range hit the flop pretty hard. Also not sure if i could bluff the river after check / check from a tight player.

here i don't know... his range hit the board but i can barrel many turns and river rivers (value and bluff) and he might fold some T that call me on the flop or even a Q if the board get dangerous and i bet 3 times.

PS: sorry for some grammar errors, english isn't my strongest point  and thanks for the coach double. it's great to see you grow up, as a player and coach :f_thumbsup:

Recreational in bb, looks a useful tag in sb. No real sample.

This to me is a typical recreational donkbet with a weak hand so I need to get the reg out the way and if they both fold so beit. If I get called I'm done but that's less likely than might be expected with me raising into two villains. The reg will duck with just about everything speculative to such a strong move.

My only concern is the reg has quite a few connected broadway type hands in their range as well a trappy small/mid pp in sb and they mostly prefer calling say <JJ KJ/KT/TQ type hands than 3betting, so I don't think a call is good here, hence my iso-raise.

Too aggro on the flop? Is my flop raise sizing ok?

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05, $0.01 ante No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Versus two nitty 12/8 type blinds, so easy steal atc.
Nits call with small-mid pps a lot and occasionally something weird fora nit like 84ss if I've been 'at it' too often and they get a bit tilty. _evil:

I'm unsure about these flops still though, even versus a nit. They look a bit too 'middle-ish' which hits most people, but by the river I can't even beat a bluff so I may as well bet! :f_thumbsup:

Would a cbet make more sense? If so how much, large(80%) or small bluff like (40%)? I don't have a 'standard cbet size' at these limits, nobody cares.

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

Flop: ($0.22) J J 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.22) Q (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($0.22) 3 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.13, BB folds

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More nits. I've really pounded this one so it may be a tilty call with sooooted something but usually a trapping pair, possibly even JJ+. The problem with a low board for me is if I bet an get called it screams overpair, set or at least TPXK and a nit will never fold those. Is it a one and done? Or a missed cbet altogether and just chk/f?

For example, a nit will chk down on a 62362 then donk out pot size on the river.

Am I just paranoid when a nit calls me?!

Hitting the turn would seem a bit irrelevant here unless it's a 5 or 7, I need to hit both turn and river hard.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last one, villain looks taggish up to now. No real sample.

Looks standard to me and obviously I don't 'rep' anything, but then neither does he except yet another under-pair trying to 'see where he's at' They raise cbets on dry boards for the same reason.

Playing 18/14 is - or was(!) - comfortable, I never knew I could be so loose! This is fun but I need to watch, I've started stealing without even looking while playing hands on other tables...just min raise and see...

Thank you, you made me think again.

I would usually cbet this but it looks a bit drawy to me and villain tends to be a bit floaty, a bit of a chaser. I just wonder if the ace helps me more for betting?
