I will have to make another post regarding win8 now that I have been getting a bit more educated on it. Short version: it's fine get it, it has some really cool functions built in that you can use. You can also use pokki.com with it to make interface like 7. Hm2 with win8 seems to be fine as well: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/346061-windows-8-upgrade-guide.html

And so the first week of December has already passed.... I can't believe 2014 is almost over, I have no idea where the time went??
It wasn't a very good week. For some reason, it just seemed nothing was in a good flow. My game was off, my luck was abscent, and if I said poker was enjoyable this week it'd be a big lie. I felt frustrated alot. I pushed myself to play in times where I'd been better off not playing. God knows how many times my flopped FH's got counterfaited by the river with almost all chips in the middle
But I wanted to improve, and if you always stay within your comfort zone, improving is not gonna come easy. I don't have any regrets, given the chance I would still have tried. So the volume was there, I am on point for my 80k hands, maybe a liiiittle behind schedule because I decided to take a bit of time off during the weekend to get my head back to where it needs to be.
Weekly review
17,150 hands = 21,4%
and the giraffee is not very pretty either...

(oh and how cool is it that I can just drag the graph into the text box and it does the uploading and stuff on its own?
n1!)
So, something has to change for this week. I'm thinking about wether to play normal tables or zoom, my thoughts so far is that it might be best with a combination of both. Zoom is imo tougher, it'll help with the volume and it'll help my game. Help make sure that I am forced to play at my best. So maybe start the day with zoom and then move on to the more enjoyable normal tables. I guess the best way to find out is to try!
I think I will stick to NL10 for a few days to make sure that my game is on point. But I dont know about that either. What I do know is that I need to try to work even harder on my game. So I'm gonna try to set up some daily goals, and take it from there. Time to regroup my troups
xoxo

Gotta make up for yesterday a bit
ffs! Have these stupid christmas carols playing on repeat in my head
It goes a little something like...
"A MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAS......
Oh wait. I flopped top set on 5♥: T♠: 8♦: vs utg and BU... UTG c/c
Turn 9♥: UTG c/c again
River J♠: UTG donks potsize
*why you little ¤/%¤%¤"%¤%¤#* ........ *grumpily staring at screen*
*hero folds*
... AND A HAPPYYYY NEW YEEEEEAAAAAR
Sounds like my song, but 'grumpily' isn't quite how I put it!
Gl getting out of nl10 by the way, you did see me there but I got crushed and dropped to nl5 yet again. Perhaps we'll meet at the tables some other time but I expect you'll leave me behind now. ♠_thumbsup:
...and don't even get me started on carol singers!
Awww gadget, I did see you a few times, sorry to hear you had to move down again. Are you faring well on NL5? There's some difference in the limits imo, mostly just more aggressive and a few more bluffy guys but if you select your opponents well, there's still plenty of people who leave a nice little trail of bleeding money behind them
Puhh. Came down with stumache issues. Not sure if stumache flue or just something else, felt quite nauseous all day and spent most of it in bed sleeping.
Probably taking a day or two off and then see if I can catch up during the weekend or something.
So, last week was a bit of a bust... Got a little behind on my volume because I got sick, but I still managed 16,783 hands which is not bad at all.
I guess the results were a bit better this week, but I'm not sure. They were better, but I think still a far way from amazing. I actually havent looked at winnings or graph all week since it doesnt really matter anyway, and I've decided not to look now either so no giraffee im afraid. Want to start the new week fresh, not frustrated over the roller coaster that must have been last week
I also deicded to set aside the other books I planned to read and start re-reading The mental game of poker. Just an amazing book that keeps reminding you about things that matter so much but that are so easily forgotten...
So anyway. Half the month has passed, and volume isnt thaaaat bad. 33,933/80,000 = 42,4%
Hopefully I'll be able to pull off some extra volume this week
have high hopes and am feeling better again
How was ya'lls week? Did ANYONE have a good week? ♦
SSD + Good ram and a reasonable processor so that you can run HM2 + a nice big DB for zoom. Ez game.
Awwww man, when u run bad, you run bad!!!!
Had a very not so funny moment yesterday where i got in KK vs 44 PFAI and ran it twice, lost to a 4 on both boards haha ♦
Then I got all excited about this zoom & boom promotion and grinded on in my chase for the red aces... 4013 hands yesterday and not ONCE red aces!!!
Had aces 12 times and 1/6 aces combo is red... Should of had it twice! Damn variance! But hey, perhaps its good, keeps me more excited for when I actually hit it and keeps me more excited to grind I guess...
with my luck I will hit it like a trazillion times today even though I can only play a few hours today... and then none for the rest of the week again, and since it only counts 1x/day...
I played 8 tabs of zoom 5 today and yesterday and got red and won postflop just the once.
I don't do run it twice, can't see the need to get all tilty twice in one hand, I can do that quick enough anyway!

Are HM2 and PT4 particularly demanding on computer speed? How large a data base do you think would effect your computers efficiency?
(Sorry if the jargon is a bit off on these questions, I know sweetFA about computers.)

That is brutal! I decided a while back not to RIT because I will be way more than twice as tilted losing two boards in situations like this then I will losing two 4:1's.
Anyway, chin up, Zoom n Boom!

Haha, well I don't really know what's best. I suppose toughening up and just learn to deal with variance in the first place is the best solution of them all. I am such a mindset fish since I started zooming.
Buuuuut on a happy note, I played 2400 hands yesterday and I DID finally hit my red aces
damn near screwed it up too... Had them twice actually, but the second time was walked in the big blind so no victory there... The first time I also almost fucked up and picked them up in the SB... put in a 3b vs reg in CO and when looking closer at my hand realizing I had the red ones and would have probably been better off to flat them and c/r for value postflop ♦ People generally fold so much to 3b so I was damn lucky that I not only got action from one, but two players... BB coldcalled my 3b and then CO 4b it... which is the point where I happily realized they were red
I flatted and after a 3way to the flop I got the money in vs CO's QQ and held up
