Currently I'm waiting for the rakeback on PKR to transfer it to Stars. I've been playing quite a while, but as you can see in my opening post mostly donating online. Made my living for some time with live cashgame PLO100-200, well and this year I'm approaching PokerStars again ![]()
Slept one hour around noon, after the freeroll. Had to go out to an ATM after lunch, took some time. Transportation on the Philippines is cheap but slow.
Spoiler

Also went to eat some streetfood outside with my friends here. Ari and my girlfriend tried "Balut" the first time (chicken egg with chicken embryo inside)...
Spoiler
Unfortunately she's gonna fly back to Bangkok tomorrow again, because her brother is getting married. Gonna miss her... but will see her again for sure.
Spoiler
Perhaps not the best shot of Ari but hookers (= who cares)
Spoiler
That's "Balut" as you can see it doesn't look very inviting, but it really tastes great.
Ok cool.
How is it life in Philippines ? Do you like it ? What is an average rent there ?
Also, if i understood right you had your PokerStars account already before you moved ? Just heard that there is problems to play on that client outside of your country, where you originally from and the account are made, but maybe this is for USA players only ? Did you had any problems with that ?

Well I moved to Bangkok (Thailand) in August 2013 and from there to Cavite near Manila (Philippines) in October 2014. I love both countries, but on the Philippines life is easier, because people are capable of speaking English.
The average rent depends. If you would rent a small one bedroom apartment in the center of Manila you will pay around 700$ per month. If you stay a bit outside like I do, you can rent a house with kitchen/living room + three (small) bedrooms for around 200$ per month.
I'm living at a friends place so I don't have to pay any rent (for now, we will see in the future) and just pay him a share on internet, electricity and so on...

Never had a problem with that. In Thailand and on the Philippines without a problem. In Thailand gambling is illegal so I actually was suprised that I could connect without proxy or anything similar.
What a year or what a night... Where to start...
Texted with my friend and future coach yesterday, and since we know each other for quite some time and he also wants to see Asia chances are that he might come here to the Philippines in the beginning of February after the CAPT (Casinos Austria Poker Tour).
Would be really great (for me) as it would mean that I could get two weeks intensive coaching here, which is obv. way better than just an hour here and there.
Besides that - like I mentioned - it was my girlfriends last night here, as she will fly back to Thailand later today. Because of that I wasn't allowed to sleep early 'cause we had to drink.
That didn't bother me much, I stayed with them for some time outside before I decided to watch a movie in bed (and play a bit with the incredible $0.37 profit from the freeroll yesterday).
Unfortunately Ari didn't know his limit again, and started to really annoy me + my gf got a bit wasted and he started to annoy her. I think it was the first time I had to really get loud to make him understand that he should just let her be and go outside and drink with the others.
After that (perhaps because of his bad English skills) he went outside and started hitting everyone of our friends who tried to get inside the house ^^ saying "nooo Chris is drunk and angry and you can't go inside"... so I had to get up again and go outside to make him understand that everything is fine and he should just sit down and drink with them.
Back to bed again some minutes later it started again ^^ he even managed to wake Jino up again, so Jino threatened to throw him out right now at around 2am in the morning if he doesn't go to bed now (srsly it's like raising a little kid and trying to make him sleep).
Spoiler

I think he finally managed to piss everybody off here, even me. So far I had my missunderstandings and problems with him, but I also kept defending him, saying that he has never been in a foreign country before and just needs time to adapt. But after yesterday I will also vote for him moving out once we talk about later today or tomorrow.
It's kind of funny. Everytime people in Asia ask me why I prefer to life here I just tell them that I got sick of German and Austrian people in the age of 18 to 26 who mostly just talk about "I f*cked that b*tch", "look at this car it has a trillion horse power", "oh I was so wasted yesterday", "I hate monday", "my boss is an asshole"... and so on I think you get my point.
And now after almost 1 1/2 year here one of those just shows up here. Until now I made the experience that only "educated" people are capable of saving some money (and not spending it all on there cars/drinking and whatever) to travel to Asia or even stay here for good, which makes Ari the first "retarded" (sry to say it, but it really starts to feel like that) person to come here.
In fact he must be a bit stupid. Moving to a foreign country, without a ticket back home and only about 250$ in your pocket is kind of stupid. Specially if you stay with strangers (thx to couchsurfing) and can't be sure how long you will be welcome there or if you even like it here.
Spoiler

Anyway, so I ended up in bed today around 3 or 4am after being awake over 24 hours (with a 1hour nap before lunch) I'm already out awake again for more than one hour now. Feeling ok, but perhaps will go to take a nap later.
Now to the important stuff:
Yesterday I player two $0.02 990 HyperTurbo SNG's and another $0.XX MTT but busted in both. Nothing to mention there, think I played quite good, but had no luck at my coinflips.
For today I will read some theory here again, and watch week3 of tomsoms video. The rest of the time will be dedicated to work as I have to finish a project and get some other things done too.
Will still be active in the forum on the side and perhaps post later again, in case something happens... who knows perhaps we throw him out today
Hi. Do you think 3 hours is enough to grind 180p MTSNGs? How many tables are you going to play?
Good luck

To be honest. I have no idea at the moment BUT I had to start figuring out a shedule and since the trading hours are not really flexible I had to put the poker somewhere for now. As you can see by my posts at the moment things are not even close to a normal/regular shedule.
Once I start (when the rakeback from PKR is paid and moved to stars, which will be somewhen around next week) I will discuss this with my coach and either split poker into two sessions daily or move the poker hours somewhere else. I also intent to add some more time for poker on Sundays, but for now all I can do is wait (for the money) and try to get a plan on how to start.
I believe that the $2.50 180s will take around one to one and a half hour each, and since it's mostly Push/Fold situations I'm confident that I can start playing four at a time for the start and increase the number of tables pretty soon to 10 or 12. Combined with the additional time on Sunday I should be able to play around 400 games per month or even more. It also depends on the available volume during that time of the day.
In my opinion nothing is static here, no matter if it's the poker or the trading shedule. Once I will start trading (coming Monday) I will see how this works out and perhaps reduce or increase the hours. Same for poker, once I start I see if it works or not and adapt. It's like while playing against villain you have your gameplan, but during the game you see some things and adapt to them.
180s generally run from 1hr 30 to 1hr 45 from start to completion.
Don't mind what others say that playing 200-400 games is not enough or that 3 hours a day is not enough. It's OK for certain people to grind 10+ hrs a day because they don't have other commitments. Obviously it would be better to play 1k games or more a month but whatever, you have other commitments.
They just be hating!

haha... thanks for your answer. Yeah, I don't mind anybody asking, and perhaps I will see for myself that I'm not happy with the volume... like I said nothing is static, will adapt if it's necassary but gotta start somewhere...
I think a lot of it is that they'd prefer there games had 1 or 2 less fish in them.

I'm not hating, it was merely a question because I'm not familiar with 180p MTSNGs yet. 45p last 1h30 so I'm surprised it takes just as long to be done with 180 players.
Wasn't aimed at you sir, just some grinders in general ![]()
$2.50s are Turbo structured and if you open up a tournament lobby it will tell you that these tournaments will last between 95 and 115 minutes.
I just remember the videos from tomsom in which he stops opening new SNGs after around 1:15 to be sure the tables will run out after a total of around two hours.
Another day passed by and nothing really happened. Gonna skype with my coach soon to help him with some PT4 issues and try to get a little more information on when to start.
Besides that I didn't find any time to do anything. Almost fell asleep so went to bed around 2:30pm again. Once I woke up I took my girlfriend out for dinner and after that we had to go to the airport since she is flying back to Thailand.
When I got back from the airport Jino was back home and needed me to translate between him and Ari to explain that if he keeps behaving like this, we will have to throw him out. He tried to blame a lot on him being drunk and stuff like that but I think he got the message... or at least I hope, cause his behaviour is also affecting me and not in a good way.
Well and now here I am, it's already midnight and I still got one remote support session ahead (after dealing with my coach) and another skype conversation with one of my clients.
Gonna try to fix my sleeping ryhtm until Monday cause it's no fun like this.
That's it for today I hope you guys had a better day than me...
Not everyday is good, but there is something good in everyday !
If you gonna get 2 week intense couching, thats gonna be wondeful, but if not, it is still good that you got one, especially considering he is your friend, which makes learning a lot more fun and easy.
All the best !

That's true. I also try to see something good in everything. Just finished skyping with him. Should know until the end of next week if he can come here at the beginning of February which obv. would also be awesome without the coaching since I haven't seen him for almost two years.
Now it's getting 2am here and still no end in sight, pretty sure will go to bed around 5am but that's life, at least I got some stuff done, even though it's not related to poker.
So what happened since my last post. Actually it's been a pretty boring and straight forward time.
Played some $0.10 6-Max Hyper Turbo SNG's on PKR yesterday and today. Won 4 out fo 6 yesterday, not so many today. After all my PKR Bankroll now shows $0.61 which is slightly more than it was before, but actually doesn't make a difference since I'm still waiting for the 11th to get the f*cking rakeback and move it to Stars.
Spoiler
I do like the mails you get from PKR after winning something...
After that I read another ICM related article - Chip Value (3): Application of the ICM, passed the quiz with 7/7 first try and enjoyed another video by CollinMoshman - Collin's approach to navigating the 180s which I actually really enjoyed.
I usually have the problem, that I almost fall asleep when I watch two hour long clips, so I'm really happy to find shorter once from time to time where I'm able to stay focused during the whole video.
Today Ari went to get his visa extension an Jino to go shopping, so I was alone and actually really enjoyed it. I spent most of the time until now (10pm here) with work related stuff. Got a lot of things done, which makes me pretty happy, but still a lot more to do.
But since I'm really trying to fix my sleeping rythm I will just lay down now, and watch a movie... no need to stay up until 4am every day.

Update:
So, what happened since my last blogpost?! We decided to drink yesterday and invited Mhea (I think I mentioned her once or twice in the blog) to join us. Since she doesn't like Ari anymore, she asked me to pick her up, which was no big deal cause her house is not even five minutes walk away from hours.
Well, while drinking Ari played some 0.10 $ 6-Max Hyper Turbo SNGs on PKR (I didn't mention so far, that I refered him to PokerStrategy) with decent success if I'm not mistaken bringing his 10.00$ initial bankroll to 10.21$ or something like that, asking me almost every second hand what to do... ![]()
Besides that my auntie texted me on Facebook and told me that she is just and my grandmum's house, so I asked her to start skype and I finally "saw" my grandmum for the first time since I left in August 2013 again. I think I cried the first few minutes, because I was so overwhelmed seeing her (she's is perhaps the only person in my whole family I really feel connected to)... we talked for quite a while and it felt really good.
Later that night I had to walk Mhea home, and well one thing led to the other... so about 30 minutes later Ari and Raf knocked at Mhea's door, looking for me... Ari was a bit pissed :spit:, and started to behave like a teenager again, calling her b*tch and some other things, I actually didn't really care, cause most of you should know from my previous posts that I'm not really fond of Ari, and wouldn't cry if he would have to leave us.
Spoiler

So back home I just went to bed, cause I was a bit drunk anyway, and didn't want to deal with his teenager reactions. Keeping in mind that he was sitting in front of the house telling Pookie that he doesn't like her and wouldn't f*ck her anymore not even a week ago (while she was upstairs and could probably hear everything ^^) I really think he is like a little kid who doesn't like his toys anymore, but as soon as anyone else plays with them gets angry....
Today I started the day with reading the new posts in the other blogs I'm following and decided than that I have to show some progress in my trading blog too, so I made my first Twitch live session with sound, and updated my blog there before I started to deal with some IT stuff for around an hour.
Then I was pretty surprised because I got an email from PKR support saying that they transfered the rakeback into my account. I was a bit pissed that it's only 69.61 $ (actually a little bit less, since I still had some cents on the account) but got surprised because I saw, that I still got all my almost 58k PKR points, which I thought will be removed in exchange for the rakeback.
Short chat with the support confirmed that I can still spent the points, so I bought three tournament tickets (1.50$, 3.50$ and 6.00$) and cashed the money on the acocunt out (will take some time until it's on my bankaccount so I can deposit it on stars).

While playing the first to MTTs I thought I could also make my first Twitch poker stream with sound and even though I had to deal with other things in between and didn't focus for half the time (folded AA by accident on the final table) managed to get 4th in the 6.00$ for a total of 15.66$.
Spoiler

Since I can't do anything with the PKR points (a f*cking tshirt would already cost 52k points) I decided to change them all into tournament tickets, and I will treat the MTTs like freerolls since the tickets are "for free" in my opinion.

So now I still got six tickets with a total worth of 8.40$ there and will probably use all of the on sunday (and perhaps make a live stream again), once those tickets are used I will cashout the restamount from PKR too, but since the charge 2.00$ for withdrawls below 100.00$ I will wait until I used the tickets.
During the livestream I also got an email from the tradimo team, asking me if I would be ok if the feature my trading blog on there social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) which made this day even more epic...
To be honest feeling really good, to see that there is progress. First profit while trading today + ITM in a MTT + got the rakeback + got tickets I didn't even think I could buy + got two livestreams done (even though the quality of the streams is not that good, still have to work on my 'smalltalk' timekilling skills, perhaps I tweet Mr. Stapelton from EPTLive to teach me some of his hilarious jokes ![]()
Anyway, so I guess I will call it a night and watch a movie, or go out to our favourite bar for one or two beer. Tomorrow will be day off like planned, so I have time to clean a bit and go to the cinema to watch Seventh Son with Jino and some more friends...
Hope your Fridays have been great too, and wish you all a great start into the weekend...
