- Not raising cbets often enough
- Too passive in the big blind
- Maybe not barreling enough after cbetting flop

Relevant stats

I'll just run some filters and write something about situations where:
1) I opened and Faced a 3bet when I had decent hand to 4betbluff.
2) I faced an open when I had a decent hand to 3betbluff.
1)
EP:
- Folded AQ and AJ a couple of times against regs who just do not 3betbluff in this spot, which is good.
- I'm really not sure what to do if I get 3bet by an unknown / fish in these spots though, I think I folded the best hand pretty often and maybe should have called if I think it's a fish and 4betbluffed as default against an unknown who is probably not a fish.
MP:
- Not much to say, always had a good reason when I folded to a 3b.
CO:
- Some pretty awkward spots where I; get 3bet by a halfstack and don't really know what to do, isolate a fish and get 3bet by a reg and don't know if calling, 4betbluffing or just folding is best so I just folded.
BU:
- Missing some good spots to 4betbluff just because I don't have a sample or villain is shortstacked.
- Maybe overfolding to fishy maniacs because I have a dominated hand and I don't think I have any fold equity.
- I should definitely 4bet bluff more against squeezes from regs who do it often in the BB.
- Overall I miss a lot of good spots to 4betbluff in this position.
SB:
- Missing a lot of good 4b bluff spots here too.
Conclusion = I should just 4betbluff good bluffhands as a default all the time, and only choose not to do it when I have a decent sample and villain's range is only value. I'm folding a little too much to 3bets right now, especially in the button. I'm leaving money on the table and probably getting exploited in blindsteal situations.
2)
MP:
- I chose not to 3bet bluff in some spots when villains openraised 4bb or larger or when villain had RFI<10 from EP.
CO:
- Some situations where I chose to 3bet hands like AK, which I normally just call, when villain had a very low fold to 3bet%.
- Some good exploitative fold to bigger openraise sizes.
- Only missed a few spots to 3b bluff.
BU:
- I should stop 3betting value hands like AK unless I have a good reason for it.
- Missed a lot of 3b bluff spots with small suited aces against MP.
- I'm calling or folding vs CO with medium offsuit aces and offsuit broadways way too often when I should 3betbluff.
SB:
- Against UTG&MP opens I almost never 3betbluff with suited connectors.
- Against CO opens I don't 3b small SC's and PP's.
- Against BU opens I fold way too often with medium suited aces, kings, queens and the smallest SC's & PP's.
BB:
- Against UTG&MP opens I call or fold SC's when 3betting may be better.
- Against CO opens I call way too many hands that should be in my 3b bluffing range.
- Against BU opens I call or fold way too many hands that I should 3b, I almost have no 3b bluff range.
- Against SB opens I bluff a decent amount but it could be more.
Conclusion = In late position and the blinds I don't 3b bluff enough at all, especially in the BB. I should try 3betting SC's from the blinds against UTG&MP opens to see how it goes. I should definitely pay more attention in the blinds and 3bet more against CO&BU.

Spoiler
My W$WSD is 52.3 which is slightly higher than the recommended 50 and my W$WSF is 44.
My cbet% is 56.6 on the flop, 43.4 on the turn and 59.2 on the river.
Flop seems very good but I should probably bet the turn more often.
My fold to cbet% is 47.5 on the flop, 44.7 on the turn and 30 on the river.
It seems like I fold a little too often except on the river, where I should fold a lot more.
I fold 62.9% to 3bets, this is a little bit too much.
Especially against resteals I fold too often and barely stop villains from autoprofiting by 3betting me.
My winrates from the blinds seem ok but there is still a little room for improvement.
They're at -18.8bb/100 in the SB and -34.3bb/100 in the BB.
It seems like I should raise a lot more flops in the blinds vs the button.
I only do it 8.2% and it should be more than double.
I'm squeezing 5% and 4bet range is 3.12%, I could probably add some more bluffs.
Now let's see how my stats compare to w34z3l's preflop gameplan:
BUvsCO 3b 7.5/13!!
SBvsCO 3b 7.2/8.8
BBvsCO 3b 3.8/6.8!!
SBvsBU 3b 11.5/13.4
BBvsBU 3b 7/10.9!!
BBvsSB 3b 13.6/15.2
-> Should 3bet a lot more BU vs CO and BB vs CO&BU!
cc BUvsCO 11.2/11.9
cc SBvsCO 8.8/6.5!
cc BBvsCO 17.8/10.3!!
cc SBvsBU 9.4/7.8!
cc BBvsBU 28.2/32.2
cc BBvsSB 29.6/34.1
-> Seems like I'm calling a bit too much from the blinds against the CO.
Homework #4
Spoiler
I used to not have a donkbetting range at all before watching this video so it should improve my winrate significantly. Just got remember to lead these from now on:
- Good made hands & nuts on drawy boards
- Draws that aren't strong enough to x/c like BP+backdoors / overcards+backdoors / gutshots / weak OESD's&FD's
When the initiative is mine I should cbet more often when I have a hand with decent equity that can't call a donkbet on most turns, like:
-good high cards on dry boards
-backdoors
-gutshots.
My perceived range is stronger when I cbet multiway which increases my fold equity, and I should take advantage of that.

IP vs double check graphs:
x turn

b turn

b turn b river

I looked at some hands and I'm losing a lot of showdowns against hands that would have folded to a turn bet. The amount of hands in each graph says enough, I should bluff a lot more turns IP against a double check, even when I have marginal showdown value.
OOP vs flop x graphs
turn x

turn b

turn b +river b

Looked at some hands and I could definitely make more money by bluffing the turn after villain checks back the flop. I lose to weak pairs and high cards way too often in these situations.
3way when it checks through on flop + turn
x river

b river

I should bet every time on river when flop + turn checks through because it's autoprofit.
Homework #6
Spoiler
BB vs SB call
There are some hands where raising the flop might be better. Some pairs on drawy boards (that aren't top pair) could benefit from raising and barreling the turn to make villain fold stronger pairs and call with his draws. I can check back the river in position.
Blinds vs BU call
Not a lot that I would change here, I just fold too much on the flop and could raise a bit more instead of calling to not let the BU freeroll his equity. Good raising hands would be the strongest and the weakest draws and some monsters.
Don't feel like constructiong bluff raising raises vs EP for this homework. I'll just do it when spots come up where I'm uncertain by default after sessions.
Hello,
I will definitely follow.

Spoiler
My graph since July. Most of hands are NL10 fast. About last 10k is NL25 fast. First 100k was terrible, mainly autopiloting grind to clear some promotions. In september I was watching w34z3l´s videos and try to play some better poker
All hands
Spoiler

Only since september - results are better but redline is still terrible
Spoiler

What I think they are biggest problems in my game related to red-line:
Very low 3bet
Not defend blinds enough (I´m scared to play postflop OOP)
Low flop and river cbet
Low PF aggresion from BTN which is the best position
Extremely low flop aggresion when I am OOP (even as PFA)
Very low postflop raise at all streets
Too high fold vs 3bet especially OOP
Some stats - only from period after 1st September
Spoiler

After wathing 1st video and looking into my database I was also surprised by some more facts:
I have quite high WTSD% (32,9), very high won dolars when see SD and quite low won dollars when see flop (it wasn´t surprise for me
).
Homework #2
Spoiler
My did 3bet graph - yes, there is fold equity even with my poor postflop game
Spoiler

My 3bet numbers - is anyone who don´t see where is a problem?
Spoiler

BTN vs CO it´s 4,79
BB vs SB it´s 6,19
I know all these numbers are ridiculous
The goal is clear, I have to increase my 3bet numbers a lot. But why I have so low numbers? I was thinking about it and in my opinion I´m still living in following mental traps:
Value3bet range = I will continue against villain 4bet. But too many people 4bet only premium hands on micros especially in fast poker on party network. So I´m not comfortable to go all-in even with QQ against many people so I have super narrow value3bet range - I think thanks to w34z3l´s coachings I finally realized that I can go profitable 3bet for value but folding to 4bet but it´s still hard to me to realize it at the table.
Bluff3bet range = I´m scared to bluff people who don´t prove me that folding vs 3bet a lot. Last month I think I made a small step forward at least when I am IP. Now it´s time to move in my OOP game where I am generally super passive.
Homework #3
Spoiler
I found that I´m too tight in blind defense vs all position but the biggest problem is definitely vs late position. Some interesting things I found in my database:
Blinds vs BTN Coldcall x 3bet
SB 7,94 x 4
BB 16,5 x 5,05
What is more interesting, the same stats:
vs 2x open
SB 9,52 x 4
BB 27,8 x 5,5
vs 2,5x open (small sample size)
SB 9,56 x 8,09
BB 19,2 x 9,09
vs 3x open
SB 8,33 x 3,53
BB 10,9 x 6,19
Next my stats BB vs SB
November-December (cc x 3bet)
25,7 x 4,97
January
32,6 x 7,51 (with better winrate than previous months. Of course limited sample size but I felt that my game is better and more aggresive in this spot)
Result
In January I managed to improve my BB vs SB game and reach significant difference in my stats. I still don´t defend enough but it´s nice too see that change is possible.
I need to defend more from blinds vs each position but need some starting point. Blinds vs BTN especially vs 3x open seems like a good candidate. I guess there is a problem that I had default defend vs 2x open in my game plan and wasn´t sure about correct range vs 3x open.
My postflop aggresion is quite low on the other hands my passive lines are not so bad. But if I want to expand my defending range I have to be able to handle it postflop. Also some of my strong hands from coldcalling range will be probably moved to value 3bet range so my calling range will be weaker - another reason to play more aggro.

Hello, I'm in !
my biggest leaks for sure are - to nitty play from bu, sb, not defending blinds to much, and also to weak play on flopa and other streets.
My current sample last months in nl30&nl50 normal 100bb cash tables, both full ring and 6max.

And an old sample, when I played nl100-nl200 in 2011

I think my main leaks are:
- don't defend my blinds enough, many time being confused/scared out of position (thats why I play tight from blinds - make smaller mistakes than bigger).
- fold too much to cbets (50%).
- fold too much to 3bets in position (fold to resteal 64%)
- sometime being too agressive with value hands
- Missing obvious bluff spots
Thanks for the video and help!
I watched the video, looking forward to the whole series a lot, this is golden ![]()
Only a very small sample, but homework gotta be done ![]()
HOMEWORK #1:

In the last couple of thousand hands i seem to improved my red line a bit, but for some reason my blue line is being affected.
Also my BTN bb/100 is very bad at the minute ![]()
HOMEWORK #2:
I have just watched your 2nd video and looks like I was not 3betting enough from the BTN.
Even tho I'm doing ok-ish in 3bet pots, just like you said, I will try to increase my EV by 3betting more from the BTN rather then flatting.
Currently after 25k hands, my BTN 3bet is at 6.20 and this is how my 3bet=true filter looks like:
Spoiler

So I will be working on 3betting more IP and will see how that works
I am also looking forward to this. But my problem is the opposite, sure all my lines are positive over a small sample size. But my blue line is pretty bad. Most of the swings have been cooler spots.

On Board.
Homework #1

My main problems:
[*] Rather low 3-bet values
[*] tendency to be a showdown monkey (wtsd 28%), call alot postflop, raise very little
[*] no idea there to bluff, i just bluff obvious spots, otherwise i tend to choose wrong spots and to burn money
[*] fold to much to cbets
[*] bad play in 3-bet pots, fold to much on 3-bets
Homework #2
I thought about coldcalling or 3-bet Hands like KJo at the Button. So far i coldcalled in most of the cases, because i thought it would produce a very profitable situation postflop. So I looked at my database. Beside hands that i folded (pretty much the same picture as for el psychos database) i looked for the hands i coldcalled, and to my surprise i am actually even loosing money by coldcalling offsuite premiums, with are the hand category with the worst result ( pockets > suited premiums > suited connector and one gapper > offsuited premium). So her is the result from my database:
Hero on the BU, CO or, VPIP yes, 3Bet no

Opps, had to reedit my post, apparently now that i actualy use HeM and see my red line, its nothing too tragic. But now i am concerned about overdoing non-showdown play and having possible leaks of calling off or betting too much.
perfect! And thank W34Z3l
I studied your 6max walkthrough ,from NL2 move to NL10. I think NL2/NL5 is simple during my past played fr in NL2-NL5.
Now I struggled for NL10's living.
It took me a few months to finish your series of walkthrough. This time I think I should keep up with you for beating NL10 with your new video.
Thanks a lot.
I am in.
there is two pictures for my study
The fist picture is regarding last year when PS limited MSS strategy ,and after that i study 6max .
The second picture is regarding this year ,after study walkthrough of 6max,I moved from NL2-->NL5,from NL5 to NL10,
and this year of starting NL10

And I am looking forward the new video of the REDLINE ,it's pretty useful
I think I suddenly know something
Regarding my own problem , I hardly review my session in NL2/NL5, but I review in NL10
I think before reading REDLINE video ,I played totally bad in BB/SB for defending steal, now it seems a little better.
Here is the third picture of position leak ,I know nothing about it, and I will keep studing the new video.

Finally ,the picture works.

Homework 1

It is pretty obvious from the graph that I have some serious problems with low red line.
My main problems in my own mind:
(1) I dont defend enough from the blinds. My total fold to steal is 80 (From SB it is 88 and from BB 73), which is propably way too high?
(2) I dont 3bet enough. At the moment my 3bet for this sample is 5,37.
(3) I bluff decent time, but obviously not enough. Therefore I should focus on finding obvious bluff spots not to miss value. Especially I think I should bluff more on 3bet pots.
(4) I play too tight postflop especially if I face agression from opponent. My WTSD% is 20,4 so I also need to work on this.
I am really excited about this series, because I know it can have huge effect on my winnings. It also interesting to see how my red line starts to develop from this moment. Hopefully I can post an upward sloping red line graph at the end of the series.
Homework 2
My leaks:
- My 3bet is atm 5,7
- My fold to 3bet is 66
- My 4bet range is 3
I will try to improve:
- 3bet to 7,0 or more
- fold to 3bet 60 or under
- 4bet range to 4
Homework 3
I just watched the third part of the series and realised how supertight i had been playing from the blinds. I think blind playing has been the biggest factor affecting my non-showdown winnings. Especially I try first to focus on playing more against SB steal and later on focus on widening my range against button.
My BB win rate was -48/100 which is horrible and I need to focus especially on this.
My SB win rate was -15/100 which is decent I suppose.
Homework 4
I haven't really put much focus on my donking play. At the moment my donk is about 5%. Usually I donk bet with strong hands on drawy boards or middle pairs. In future I probably should try to focus more on finding spots to donk with weak hands. Perhaps hands with backdoor draws.
Hi, I'm in,
really looking forward to imrove my game and red line, it's my biggest weakness.
This is my older graph from PS NL25, where I struggled a lot, even though I think my skill was more than good enought to beat that limit, there are worse players beating higher limits. I worked on my game, developed solid, proven gameplan and dedicated several hundreds of hours to study the game.

After this constant sh*trun, I went to easier site, improved my default gameplan to improve red line with the same perspectives as you mentioned in the first video , but rl not great again (but there I guess partly because of lot of fish on each table, where I didn't bluff that much against those stations)

My trouble areas:
Not sure whether to have river calling freq based on gto or semi-relevant population reads (people rarely 3 barrel as a bluff = overfolding river = bad red line)
Levelling (thinking at too high level, overestimating oponents)
Bluffing freq against the fish (without representative sample, only hints about his play)

Hi there,
with this gold-series (first video as an intro for silver :)) we will continue next friday, 16th. From there on we did not decide yet if we want to go for bi-weekly or weekly release.
As a support for you guys, we'll also be in discussion with weasel to do a gold-coaching course for you guys in February (i.e. to support you with the homework that you guys post here in the forum)

I am in. I would also like to give my database to analyze.
Homework 1
My main leaks are:
-Bad play in 3-bet pots
-Don't defend my blinds enough
-Not raising cbets often enough
-Too passive in the big blind
Thanks a lot.

Homework1
I think my main leak is that i think too much
I mean adapting some strategies that are working only in some situations, but are EV- most of the time.
I poorly evaluate opponents, not adjusting enough. I know the theory of player types and how they play, but have some difficulties on practice. I mean using some lines in bad situations, like 3-bet/shove w AK against player who 4bet only KK+ . Or cbeting as bluff against calling stations who won't give up and etc.
I tend to tilt when loosing couple of buy-ins in a row as bad beat, like flush vs bigger flush or full house against quads. Then I am starting to play too tight on river.
Hi, w34z3l!
I'm on board.
Homework #1 - 'Myths and Realities':
Spoiler
My 10NL 6max regular tables graph, 97k hands:

My stats:

I think my biggest problems are:
1. I don't steal/defend blinds very well. I began to steal/defend more on the last 40K hands. But there is a lot of room for improvement.
2. Bluffing on river. I almost don't do this.
3. Check/Fold too much OOP as PFR.
4. Check-raising as PFR.
5. Thin value-betting.

Cold-calling on BB, (Graph 8):

3Betting on BB, (Graph 9):

The first thing i'm going to do to improve my red line is 3betting much more on BB, instead of calling. My results on SB (Graph 5) are way better than on BB (Graph 6). On SB, i play more aggressively than on BB (Pic 1), where i call a lot. Calling on BB is making me lose money (Graph 8). I don't know if this is caused by pre flop or post flop mistakes, but i'll 3bet more and see what happens to my 3betting on BB results (Graph 9). I'm going to expand also my bluff range on BU, then i'll start to work the other positions. I think it is a good adjustment to start from. Even if the opponents don't fold directly to 3bet, they fold a lot to cbets (Graph 4). The problem, i think, is that doing this, my value range will be much more smaller than the bluff one. I hope this doesn't bring me a lot of problems. Or at least, i hope i can deal with them.
Homework #3 - 'Blind Efficiency':
Spoiler
I did exactlty the same analysis shown in the video, and i have a lot of the same problems. For now, i'll concentrate my efforts on 3betting preflop and BB and EP play.
These are my biggest leaks and the solutions i'll apply:
1. Not 3betting enough (altought it's better since last homework) on MP, CO, BU and BB >>> Increase bluff range.
2. My flop fold to cbet is too high >>> Play marginal hands more aggressively.
3. EP play is very bad (Graph 3) >>> Not really sure what i'll do here. I need to study some material.
4. bb/100 on BB is -42,27 (Pic. 1). There is a lot of room for improvement >>> Cold-call and raise more.
5. CC% on BB vs BU: should be over 30, mine is a bit low >>> Cold-call more hands.
6. CC% on BB vs SB: should be around 37, mine is low >>> Cold-call more hands.
7. 3bet on BB vs UTG: should be around 2.5%, mine is very low >>> Include some suited connectors.
The changes that i'll make in my game will happen in cycles. I mean for all homeworks, not only this one. The changes i'm listing in this thread are the start. Probably, a lot of cycles will be necessary before i can make all the corrections and see a big improvement show up. For sure, i'll watch all the videos of the series a lot of times.

Homework #5 - 'Free Money':
Spoiler
OOP:
Although my 'check flop/check turn' graph (Graph 1) isn't bad, when i do bet the turn the results are significantly better (Graph 2). I made more than twice the money in less than half hands. Betting is four times more lucrative than checking. I'm definitely going to bet way more. Also, 20% of the time i bet turn i also bet river and this made me make half the money when bet turn (Pic 3). So, the 2 barrels strategy is very lucrative.
IP:
Basically the same conclusions. The difference is that betting turn is now around 20 times(!) more lucrative than checking (Graphs 4 and 5).
All positions VS a raiser:
Betting is around 20 times more lucrative than checking (Graphs 9 and 10).
Multi-way pots:
Betting river instead of checking makes 5 times more money (Graphs 11 and 12).
