The week is off to a good start on the tables. Only played 7 games, 6 $2.50s (cashing 3) and bricking the $8 in the style I've become accustomed too. Finished 2nd and had two mincashes so it was quite a profitable session again.

Off the tables there is slight bit of upheavel going on. Not going to go into details on it yet, going to play the waiting game and see how that goes.

So I mentioned upheaval in my last post.

I had arranged to meet my backer last night and he failed to appear. This was the 2nd time in a row that this happened and gave me a little cause for concern. In the end I opted to give him the benefit of the doubt and we have made arrangements to meet again this week. Should this fail to materialize I'll have to seriously consider pulling the plug and flying solo. Hopefully that doesn't have to happen.

Goals for the week:

- Play 50 games
- Review all games, mark hands for coach
- Finish the trial in profit

I've reached a milestone on Sharkscope games wise and I want to include this here for myself:

Pretty decent Sharkscope results... gx on that... hope things with your staker get sorted out, and he just was to busy... anyway, if not -> based on your results you can make it on your own too...

Thanks Christian, it's nice to be in profit after 500 games.

500 games though is too early to make an accurate prediction as to whether I'm good enough to beat the $2.50s on my own. I've definitely played a lot better in the last 100 games then I did the previous 400 so it could just be short term variance.

If I keep up the hard work then everything should be fine regardless of being backed or not. I'd like to be backed more so for the coaching than anything else. However, if I'm not getting the coaching then there is no point. I have the roll to play $2.5s on my own.

Not too much to report since my last update.

Have a few real life errands to run and that occupied my free time last night. I have managed to review up until Sunday night's play. I did find one further spot where I was being too light UTG so that is good news

Aside from that my Push/Fold game is spot on and I've made a note on a few regs/players that were making bad calls vs me.

Not sure if I will play today in the afternoon or not. If not, I have a few things to get sorted that are of a bigger priority.

Played a small session today in the afternoon. Played well but eventually bricked them all. Played 2 $8s because they were less reg filled but still no cash in them. Was unlucky in one to get 2 outered on the river and that's pretty much summed up my games at the $8s so far.

Terribly tilting day off the tables, weather was snowy this morning and it was all gone by 4pm and has been replaced by bad stormy conditions.

Ireland FTW!

Reviews are done and dusted. Have my coaching tomorrow which may/not include some live play!

I had an hours coaching last night where we reviewed my final tables. Picked up some small knowledge but to be honest I knew a lot of it myself already.

Played a small session last night as well and ended up on the final table of a $2.50. Unfortunately we pulled a Mark Newhouse and finished 9th when our JJ got beat by AK on the river for the sweat!

We've had snow here overnight which might mean by Friday grind session is gone as my wife most likely won't travel to work in these conditions. Not to worry though as her friends have planned a last minute girls night out for tomorrow night so I can just play then instead.

Most likely going to discontinue with the stake after the trial period ends on Sunday, haven't fully decided yet though!

If you have the roll then theres no point to continue the stake in my opinion. You can easily beat the $2.50 games. Just comes down to how valuable you find the coaching.

Right. But it looks like your coach doesn't add that much value to your game to be reason enough to keep the staking going.

I have to say I expected more/better than I am getting. I'm not getting a great vibe off him and our plans and aspirations kinda differ too much. It's hard to put into words. He's a great guy, really friendly etc. I just have a feeling that it's not meant to be and that it would work out better for me to go on my own for now.

I gave it a go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as the saying goes. However, the reality is I have only got 500 games of experience at the $2.50s so there is no need for me to be considering playing $8s or $3Rs for a long, long time. I don't depend on poker for a living. It's a hobby, a small profitable hobby or I'd like it to be.

OK, looks like I've made my decision.

Thanks guys!

OK, so I am officially on my own again now. I have parted ways with my backer with immediate effect.

After depositing some of my own funds from Skrill I now have over $400 and a comfortable 170 BIs for the $2.50s.

Thank you guys!

First session on my own was always likely to be a downer and true enough it was.

Made an absolute cracking start and had 4 ITMs in the first 9 games. Unfortunately, once we reached the final two tables everything went south. Only turned one of those into a Final Table but was the first casualty there when my AKcc lost vs KK and Ax despite flopping the nut FD for the sweat.

After that I struggled to get anything else going, losing a bunch of weird hands vs fish and running J6 in the SB into the BBs QQ for a bubble. No more cashes after that leaves me almost -$50 after 26 games on my own.

Long road ahead though, not to worry.

Reviewed my push/fold game from tonights session and am pretty happy with how I played. Just a handful of spots where I made small mistakes - nothing huge though.

Another session planned for tomorrow night in which I hope things go better :)

I had ample time to play last night as the Mrs was out with her buddies for an Indian and drinks. However, when it came to loading up tables I just couldn't find the will or desire. So I messed around on the webz for a while before I did manage to play a small six game set.

After an earlyish enough night my batteries are recharged and ready to go. Aiming for 40 games today!

44 games today, biggest session of the year. 9 tabled for most. Ran horribly. Only a few ITM, one FT, finished 2nd. If our bad days end in such a small loss I guess I will take it.
